Foreign ministry summons Iranian ambassador, reiterates Qatar's strong condemnation of violation of its sovereignty, airspace
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi affirmed to the Iranian Ambassador that this violation is completely inconsistent with the principle of good neighbourliness and the close relations that exist between the State of Qatar and the Islamic Republic of Iran—especially considering that Qatar has always advocated for dialogue with Iran and has made considerable diplomatic efforts in this regard.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs also emphasised the urgent need to immediately return to dialogue and diplomatic channels to resolve disputes and outstanding issues, avoid escalation, and halt military operations in an effort to promote regional and international stability.

Some 21,000 detained in Iran during 12-day war with Israel: Report
Iranian security authorities detained around 21,000 people during the 12-day war against Israel in June, according to official figures released on Tuesday. Among them, 261 individuals were arrested on suspicion of espionage and 172 for unauthorized photo and video recordings, police spokesman General Saeed Montazerolmahdi said, as reported by state radio. He did not provide details on the majority of the arrests. During the conflict, more than 40,000 police officers were deployed around the clock on the streets, Montazerolmahdi added. Nationwide, over 1,000 checkpoints were established, according to the report. In June, Israel, together with the United States, bombed key nuclear facilities in Iran. Despite the ceasefire, the fundamental conflict between the arch-enemies persists, with no diplomatic solution in sight. Iran's leadership has responded domestically with a wave of repression since the war. (DPA)

Qatar welcomes declarations by Australia, NZ on recognising State of Palestine
QNA Doha The State of Qatar has welcomed the declaration of Australia on the intent to recognise the sisterly State of Palestine, along with the New Zealand declaration that it is mulling the recognition of the State of Palestine. The State of Qatar termed the two announcements as positive steps that align with international legitimacy and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions, as well as vital support for the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people to have self-determination and establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday affirmed that these decisions are consistent with the consensus reached among the countries participating in the international conference for the peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine and the implementation of the two-state solution, based on a roadmap to increase the recognitions of the Palestinian State. The ministry reiterated the State of Qatar's call upon all nations that have yet to recognize the State of Palestine to take similar steps that reflect commitment to international law and back the historic and enduring rights of the Palestinian people on their territories.
