Jason Momoa reveals feelings on son getting cast in upcoming Dune film after initial fears
Momoa spoke on the 'SmartLess' podcast about how he was initially hesitant about allowing his teenage son, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, to join the acting industry.

'I'm like, 'You're never acting. There's no way I'm let – I'm not letting you act,'' he said, reflecting on his son's earlier acting ambitions after having done school plays. 'I'm just like, 'I don't want my kid [to be a] child actor. I don't want you in this business. Blah blah blah.'
At age 16, a revelation occurred, however, when the Game of Thrones alumni planned to bring his son with him to the set of Denis Villeneuve's 'Dune' films.
'So, cut to, I'm like, 'He's 16. I really want – it's time for my son to be with me and travel,' Momoa recalled, sharing how his son wanted to learn more about acting.
Momoa argued that bringing his son could instill a work ethic 'like mine of the Midwest.' Long hours of action scenes in heavy body armor are no cakewalk, Momoa said, 'It's not digging ditches, but it's f—ing hard.'

Momoa spoke about how a friend, producer Cale Boyter, encouraged him to film a 'stunt reel' tape with his son beforehand to test his skills. The actor then spoke about the process where his son, with very little acting experience, managed to greatly impress Boyter.
He sent an audition tape of his son showing his acting skills, which impressed the filmmakers so much that they asked him to test some scenes in London with other actors who would potentially be in the film.

Momoa recalled being a nervous wreck while watching his son audition, 'He had to do like a really hard scene that even if I had to do that scene, there's no way I could pull that off, and to do that for the first time, and this kid killed it, and he did it on his own. I didn't help him at all. And I'm doing f—ing Dune with my son right now.'

'We did the premiere, I think, on the 18th. We got on a plane that night. We landed on the 19th. My daughter's 18th was the 20th. We flew out the 21st. We landed in Budapest on the 22nd. He went to work on the 23rd,' Momoa said. 'His first goddamn scene. I'm sitting there s—-ing my pants going like 'He's with Zendaya.' He's like, 'He's in it.' And I'm like, 'My baby, 16 years old.' And he just killed it. I was crying. I was a f—ing wreck. I was so proud of him.'
Momoa recalled his son gained a newfound admiration for his father's work after having filmed on set, ''Pop, I have so much respect for you now.''

Apple TV+ releases the first 'Peanuts' musical in 37 years
Apple is making good on its promise to release new Peanuts content with today's premiere of Snoopy Presents: A Summer Musical. It's the first Peanuts musical in 37 years, with the last one, Snoopy: The Musical , debuting way back 1988. The new cartoon introduces some catchy new songs (and a jazz piano score, of course) as Charlie Brown and friends attempt to save their beloved summer camp Cloverhill from destruction. The 40-minute special directed by Erik Wiese is centered around Charlie Brown's younger sister Sally, who hates summer camp after arriving for the first time. It's up to her brother, in his last year at camp, to help change her attitude. In the other major plot line, the kids discover that Cloverhill is set for destruction, so Charlie Brown comes up with a plan to put on a festival to save it. Snoopy isn't the main character this time, but is the source of much comic relief (pitching a "pup" tent and sleeping on top of it like his doghouse). The special uses digital animation to try to capture the style of Charles M. Schultz's original drawings. During one poignant song ( When We Were Light) , the animation reverts to Schultz's 1950s style as Charlie Brown reflects on his early camp days — something that's bound to hit older adult viewers right in the feels. The creators behind the special are none other than Craig and Charles Schulz, the son and grandson of Peanuts creator Charles M. Schultz. "The thought jumped in my mind, wouldn't it be exciting to see the characters, you know, actually sing and Dance," Craig Schultz told The New York Times . He also felt that musical numbers would give the special an extended life. Apple has more Peanuts content in the pipeline, including a new feature-length Snoopy movie. 'Thrones' icon Kristian Nairn to compete on 'Strictly Come Dancing'

"This will be a huge challenge for me physically, but I'm ready to rise to it! It's a surreal and wonderful opportunity to shed one of my left feet!" Nairn, who is also a popular DJ and author, said in a press release Friday. The actor, 49, is known for playing Hodor on Game of Thrones and Wee John Feeney on Our Flag Means Death. Strictly Come Dancing Season 23 is to premiere in September on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Other contestants include RuPaul's Drag Race UK queen La Voix and Neighbours star Stefan Dennis, as well as Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, aka Nitro, Dani Dyer, Alex Kingston, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Balvinder Sopal, George Clarke, Chris Robshaw, Ellie Goldstein, Thomas Skinner and Vicky Pattison.
