Scheffler 'living dreams' but 'more to life than golf'
Scheffler said on Tuesday it was "not a fulfilling life" and that the zealous pursuit of wins is "something I wrestle with on a daily basis".Speaking in the aftermath of his Open success, he conceded that he perhaps did not make his point as well as he had hoped, but stood by his senitments."We live in a day and age where clickbait is what people look for and you can shorten a five-minute clip into three words," Scheffler said. "I think it underestimates what I was trying to communicate. "I've worked my entire life to become good at this game and play for a living. It's one of the great joys of my life and to win The Open is a feeling that's hard to describe."Am I grateful for it? Do I enjoy it? Oh, my gosh, yes, this is a cool feeling. But having success in life is not what fulfils the deepest desires of your heart. "Just because you win a golf tournament doesn't make you happy - but I'm pretty excited to celebrate this one."
'When I saw my family, that was pretty special'
Scheffler said he intends to leave for home in Texas later on Sunday and "celebrate with the people that have helped me along the way".After he tapped in on the 18th an hour or so earlier - and the crowds offered their throaty approval - the first person he looked for was wife Meredith.Belatedly spotting her, and 14-month-old son Bennett, who was toddling on to the green, Scheffler's typically muted response changed. He hurled his hat into the sky, roared with delight, and lumbered with arms outstretched towards them.The trio embraced before Scheffler retrieved his hat and left the green with a bemused Bennett nestled in crook of his left arm."When I saw my family, that was a pretty special feeling," said Scheffler, who insisted earlier in the week that he would quit golf if it started to impact upon his family."It's one that's very hard to describe. It's something I'm very grateful for and something that I'll hold onto for a long time."

Lynx acquire DiJonai Carrington in trade with Wings
August 3 - The Minnesota Lynx acquired guard DiJonai Carrington on Sunday from the Dallas Wings, sending forward Diamond Miller, guard Karlie Samuelson and a 2027 second-round draft pick in exchange. With the move, Carrington goes from the No. 11 team in the league in Dallas (8-21) to a franchise that is running away from the pack in the league standings. The Lynx (24-5) have a six-game lead on the second-place New York Liberty. Dallas acquired the 5-foot-11 Carrington on Feb. 2 from the Connecticut Sun, with whom she played four seasons. The move was part of a massive 10-team trade. In 20 games with the Wings, the 27-year-old averaged 10.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists over 24.9 minutes per game. All are above her career averages of 8.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 20.2 minutes per contest. She has appeared in 151 career games with Dallas and Connecticut. Carrington was named the WNBA's Most Improved Player in 2024 and also was selected to the league's All-Defensive first team. The Lynx selected Miller with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft. She has averages of 7.1 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists over 16.3 minutes over 78 career games. Samuelson was in her first season with Dallas after being acquired April 14 in a trade with the Washington Mystics.
