'It's Very Exciting': Singer Dua Lipa Confirms Engagement With Actor Callum Turner
During a recent interview with British VOGUE, the 29-year-old got candid about her engagement and when she and her husband-to-be are planning to officially tie the knot. Here's what she said:
In the interview published yesterday (Thursday, 12th June), Dua Lipa opened up about touring the world and how excited she is to perform at Wembley Stadium, a show that sold out in minutes. 'That's definitely been a massive dream, and it's going to be quite surreal. You know, stadiums — that seems pretty scary,' she said.
Beyond her career, the singer also spoke about how important family is to her. She expressed gratitude to her loved ones for supporting her dreams throughout her life, and shared how accepting they have been of Callum Turner. When asked about the marriage rumours, especially since she's been spotted with the big ring on her finger, the 'Levitating' artist finally confirmed: 'Yeah, we're engaged. It's very exciting. This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever — it's a really special feeling.'
However, the couple have yet to discuss a wedding date and location, with Dua saying she wants to focus on completing her tour first. 'I want to finish my tour, Callum's shooting, so we're just enjoying this period. I've never been someone who's really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. All of a sudden, I'm like: 'Oh, what would I wear?'' she stated.
There's really no rush, so for now, Dua Lipa and Callum Turner are simply enjoying their engagement and focusing on their respective careers. Still, we'll be looking forward to those wedding photos when the time comes. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Britain's Catherine picks fairy costume, Beatrix Potter for museum exhibit
Catherine's mini display will be available for viewing at the V&A East Storehouse in London until early 2026. Photo: Reuters A watercolour by beloved children's author Beatrix Potter and a fairy costume for a 1960 ballet are among the objects chosen by Britain's Princess Catherine for a display at an innovative British museum. Catherine, the Princess of Wales also known as Kate, chose costumes, paintings and furniture from the V&A's large collection for her "mini display". The princess's Makers and Creators display follows her visit to the museum's storehouse and new "on-demand" visitor attraction last month. In a message from Kate, she wrote: "Objects can tell a story. A collection of objects can create a narrative, both about our past and as inspiration for the future." "Individual, unique objects can come together to create a collective whole that helps us to explore our social and cultural experiences and the role we play in the wider tapestry of life." Her selection of objects includes a blue-and-white Qing dynasty porcelain vase made between 1662 and 1722, a costume for the Fairy of the Woodland Glade by the designer Oliver Messel for the Royal Ballet's 1960 production of The Sleeping Beauty a nd a watercolour painting of a forest glade by Potter. Other items highlight a handmade quilt from Wales dating from 1830 to 1840 and a 15th century earthenware tile from the southern country of Somerset. The mini display celebrates past creators and shows "how historic objects can influence fashion, design, film, art, and creativity today," said the V&A. It also mirrors Kate's love of nature, and interest in nurturing educational development in young children. Visitors will be able to examine the objects up close by using the free Order an Object service. Members of the public can select items on the museum's online catalogue and book an appointment to spend time with the objects with the help of a museum staff member. One fifth of the museum's total collection is available to be viewed and enjoyed in the four-storey building on the former site of the 2012 London Olympic Games. Shanghai police bust gang selling counterfeit Labubu toys
Counterfeit Labubu dolls being displayed for sale on the sidewalk in Manhattan, New York City. - Reuters SHANGHAI: Police in Shanghai busted a gang making and selling fake Labubus this month, detaining eight people and 5,000 counterfeit toys worth US$1.7 million, local state-owned media reported. Made by Beijing-based toymaker Pop Mart, Labubu dolls have become a must-have item internationally, adorning the handbags of celebrities such as Rihanna and Dua Lipa. The furry, fanged creatures, which typically sell for around $40, are released in limited quantities and have caused frenzies at stores around the world. Knock-offs -- many of which are also made in China -- have flooded online platforms, dubbed "Lafufus" by social media users. The Shanghai bust in early July uncovered 12-million-yuan ($1.7-million) worth of fake Pop Mart toys, state-run Shanghai Daily reported late Tuesday. Pop Mart notified police when a customer reported that one purchased online was in fact fake. This led to the discovery of an online store that sold fans, speakers and gaming consoles -- but was also a front for selling the counterfeits. Police raided a warehouse, detaining eight people and the 5,000 toys, complete with forged trademarks and fake anti-counterfeit stickers, the report said. It is not the first time the fluffy monsters have been associated with crime. In Singapore, CCTV footage captured a family stealing Labubu dolls from a claw machine last year, according to online media outlet AsiaOne. And in June, burglars broke into a store in California and took several Labubu dolls along with electronics and other valuables, US news outlet ABC reported. - AFP

‘Hollywood Con Queen' fails to quash US extradition
An Indonesian national dubbed the 'Hollywood Con Queen' by the media for allegedly impersonating top female movie industry executives in a seven-year fraud lost his bid on Tuesday to block his extradition from Britain to stand trial in the United States. Hargobind Tahilramani is wanted in California on charges of wire fraud, conspiracy to commit wire fraud and aggravated identity theft for allegedly defrauding around 300 people out of a total of approximately US$1mil (RM4.2mil) between 2013 and 2020. The 45-year-old is accused of tricking people into travelling to Indonesia and paying exorbitant fees for non-existent film work, before he was arrested in a hotel in Manchester, England, in November 2020. Tahilramani's extradition was approved by a judge and then British ministers in 2023, but he challenged the decision to send him to the US to stand trial, arguing prison conditions would breach his human rights due to his mental health. His lawyer Edward Fitzgerald told London's High Court in April that Tahilramani, who has applied for asylum in Britain, was also at risk of being attacked in prison as a gay man. But Tahilramani's appeal was dismissed by Judge Derek Sweeting, who said in a written ruling that the lower court was not wrong when it ordered his extradition to stand trial. — Reuters
