"Victorious" Is Officially Getting A Spinoff TV Show Starring Daniella Monet As Trina, And The Plot Just Made Me Spit Out My Water
Calling all Gen Z'ers! I've got some INCREDIBLE news for you. You better hold onto your hats.
One of the greatest kids' shows in history, Victorious, is officially getting a spinoff series. It's going to be produced by Nickelodeon, and it's in "fast-track development," according to Deadline.
The project is tentatively called Hollywood Arts, which, if you know anything at ALL, is the name of the arts high school the Victorious characters attend. So I have a sneeeeeaking suspicion we're gonna see those gloriously unique lockers again.
And before I spill what it'll be about, let me get this out of the way: Dan Schneider is not part of the project (phew). The lead writers and executive producers include Jake Farrow, who wrote and produced Victorious and Sam & Cat — AND he voiced the icon, Rex Powers.
So now, the most important part. What the heck will it be about?!?! Two words: TRINA. VEGA. The show is centred around the queen herself. All hail!!
Of course, that means one thing: Daniella Monet will reprise her role as Trina and star in the show (!!!!). Lucky for us, we also got a plot description for the series, which gives us more than a little hint as to what Trina is up to nowadays.
" Hollywood Arts follows Trina returning to her old stomping grounds as the newest teacher at Hollywood's most elite performing arts school," Deadline reports. Yep, we're gonna see Trina as a teacher at Hollywood Arts. I did NOT think I'd ever write that sentence.
Unfortunately, no other cast members have been confirmed *yet* — but if I had to guess, we MIGHT see a cameo from Victoria Justice if we're lucky. They're on-screen sisters and friends IRL, after all!
Let's all cross our fingers for cameos from Liz Gillies (Jade), Matt Bennett (Robbie), Leon Thomas III (Andre), Avan Jogia (Beck), and even Oscar-nominated LEGEND Ariana Grande. But I think Matt is the most likely out of that bunch, since he's arguably the most connected to his Victorious roots.
Anyway, I'll let you know if we get any new jaw-dropping details — like, maybe we'll get confirmation of a "Chicago" reprise, which would make me sob with joy.

Sapphics, are you paying attention? You are going to want to know this: A new independent streaming series starring Lili Reinhart and Cooper Raiff is headed our way! On Monday, Deadline broke the news that streaming service MUBI acquired the rights to Hal & Harper, an eight-episode show centered around the titular codependent siblings, played by Reinhart and Raiff. Raiff also created, wrote, and directed the show. The series premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, earning rave reviews from viewers who appreciated both the heart and the comedy at the core of the show. Notably, both Reinhart and Raiff also play the much younger versions of themselves in childhood flashbacks, adding a Pen15-like quality to those sequences. If that wasn't enough to have us looking forward to Hal & Harper, it's also got a stacked cast that includes some queer faves. Mark Ruffalo plays their father, Betty Gilpin plays his girlfriend, and Bottoms' Havana Rose Liu plays the girl Hal is interested in. Oh, and did we mention Harper has a girlfriend? The Sex Lives of College Girls star Alyah Chanelle Scott tackles that role, while Addison Timlin plays the coworker Harper is crushing on. MUBI has had a hand in distributing several well-received queer films in recent years, including Shiva Baby, Knife + Heart, and Benedetta. Hal & Harper is one of a few series they have coming up, with the acquisition being praised by those hoping independent TV is a viable way forward. "MUBI is the perfect home for our very specific family show. They're a singular platform that understands the art they're putting out," Raiff told Deadline. "I am in awe of what they've done recently, and am excited to be a part of the family." It also illustrates the power of YouTube. YouTube consistently ranks as the top streamer in the U.S., far outpacing its competitors, including Netflix, in terms of monthly average usage time. It looks like summer lovin' for Billie Eilish and her rumored boyfriend, Nat Wolff. The singer-songwriter appeared to confirm her romance with the actor-musician when the pair were seen kissing in Italy on June 7.
