Royalty to sovereign wealth funds, everyone is buying Bitcoin: Eric Trump

Bitcoin, even in small amounts, could be worth a fortune, said Eric Trump, son of US President Donald Trump. Speaking at the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas, he claimed that even 0.1 BTC, a fraction of the flagship cryptocurrency, could hold significant value in the near future. Appearing alongside his brother Donald Trump Jr., Eric made a bullish forecast, predicting that the value of Bitcoin would skyrocket in the near future, citing surging global demand and tightening supply.
'Everybody in the world wants Bitcoin,' Eric Trump told a packed audience. 'I do not care where you are—royal families, financial institutions, sovereign wealth funds—everyone is buying Bitcoin. No one wants to get rid of it.'
Notably, the flagship cryptocurrency reached a new all-time high of $111,970.17 earlier this month on May 22. This followed nearly four months of sideways consolidation, which led to the cryptocurrency surpassing its previous peak of $109,114.88, set on January 20 this year, reflecting a strong bullish resurgence.
Eric emphasised that Bitcoin's increasing scarcity is contributing to its upward trajectory. 'The OTC desks have the least amount of Bitcoin on their books than ever before. The supply is drying up while the price keeps going up,' he said, referring to over-the-counter trading platforms used by institutional investors.

He also highlighted the growing institutional adoption of Bitcoin, pointing to recent moves by companies such as GameStop and Truth Social. 'Twelve months ago, maybe 100 companies had Bitcoin on their balance sheets. Now, every single day, another sovereign wealth fund is jumping in,' Eric added.
Eric further noted that the popularity and demand for the well-known cryptocurrency are not restricted to any particular region but span the entire globe. 'This isn't just America. This is the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Fortune 500 companies, private family offices. Everyone wants it as a balance sheet item.'
He encouraged new investors not to be discouraged by Bitcoin's high price tag, reminding them that the system was designed for fractional purchases. 'Don't be afraid of the integer. You can buy fractions. That is how Satoshi intended it. We are still so early to the game,' he said, referencing Bitcoin's pseudonymous creator.

MSRDC wants to make Mum-Pune E-way 10-lane superhighway

Pune: MSRDC wants to transform the Mumbai-Pune Expressway into a 10-lane superhighway to tide over traffic snarls and cater to the future demands of vehicular movement along the corridor, one of the busiest in the country. "This is an upgrade from our earlier proposal to make the expressway an eight-lane facility. The latest upgrade will cost around Rs1,420 crore. The DPR is being finalised and will be submitted to govt for approval," Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) vice-chairman and managing director Anilkumar Gaikwad told TOI on Friday. Inaugurated in 2002, the expressway is a 94.6-km stretch connecting the bustling metropolis of Mumbai to Pune, Maharashtra's industrial and educational hub. It currently carries an estimated 65,000 vehicles daily during weekdays. The number increases to over 100,000 during weekends. With traffic volume increasing by approximately 5-6% on a year-on-year basis, the MSRDC's proposed expansion is seen as a long-term solution to the congestion. The latest project involves widening of the current infrastructure. While the construction cost is expected to be around Rs8,440 crore, the overall average cost of the project will be Rs 14,260 crore. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like เทรด Bitcoin และ Ethereum - ไม่ต้องใช้กระเป๋าเงิน! The financing model — whether Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) or annuity — is yet to be decided. The current toll collection for the Pune-Mumbai Expressway is valid till 2045. MSRDC would seek an extension if the expressway widening gets approval to make the project self-sustaining. At present, the journey between Mumbai and Pune takes about two hours under normal conditions. However, weekend rush hours and holiday traffic can stretch that drive by an additional hour. According to MSRDC, the proposed expansion could virtually eliminate this extended travel time, offering smoother rides even during peak periods. If approved and executed as envisioned, the expansion could become one of India's most ambitious road infrastructure upgrades — a critical step toward matching the country's rapid growth in vehicle ownership with high-capacity transit corridors, an MSRDC official said. MLA Mahesh Landge has in a social media post recently said the expansion would ensure necessary respite from traffic congestion on the e-way. "This is a long-awaited demand. The expansion is needed considering the heavy traffic along the e-way," he told TOI. People frequently travelling on the e-way are of the view that the state govt should not delay in the expansion work and carry out the project in phases to ensure that there was no traffic congestion. "Frequent traffic snarls are becoming an impediment for travellers. The expansion proposal should be immediately cleared and work should commence," said Manisha Khandekar, a frequent traveller. The expressway — which begins at Kalamboli in Navi Mumbai and ends at Kiwale near Pune — is India's first access-controlled express highway. While work on the 13-km "missing link" project is on, which will facilitate 10 lanes in the Khandala Ghat section, the proposed expansion would cover the remaining 67km of the route. According to MSRDC, land acquisition challenges were expected to be minimal. "MSRDC already holds land adjacent to most parts of the existing expressway. Only limited additional land near tunnels will be needed. These land parcels are near the tunnel zones," said an official involved with the project. Crypto market today: Bitcoin dips below $101,000 amid Trump-Musk fallout; Ethereum tumbled over 6%

NEW DELHI: Bitcoin slipped further on Friday, falling below the $101,000 mark and extending its weekly loss to over 4%. The top cryptocurrency was down 1.5% at $102,987, while Ethereum plunged 6% to $2,457 during the intra-day trading session, according to CoinMarketCap. The sell-off follows rising tensions between US President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk over the controversial 'One Big Beautiful Bill Act,' which slashes EV subsidies and increases the US deficit, moves that directly impact Musk. The fallout also weighed on Tesla shares, which tumbled over 14%, and dented investor sentiment across crypto markets. The global crypto market cap also declined 2% to $3.22 trillion, as other major tokens followed suit. Dogecoin dropped 7.5%, Solana fell 3.5%, Cardano and Sui were down 5.5%, XRP slipped 3%, BNB shed 4%, and Chainlink declined 4.7%. Meme coin Pepe was the day's biggest loser, down 7.3%. Bitcoin had hit an all-time high of $111,970 on May 22 but has since retraced significantly. Despite the decline, markets remain optimistic that the US Federal Reserve will hold interest rates steady at its June 18 policy meeting, with reports showing a 90% probability of no hike. Governor Sanjay Malhotra reveals why RBI is concerned about cryptocurrencies: ‘Can hamper…'

RBI MPC: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Sanjay Malhotra on Friday said that the central bank is 'concerned' about cryptocurrencies as they can 'hamper' financial stability of the country. Speaking to reporters during an interaction after announcing the RBI MPC decisions, Sanjay Malhotra touched upon the topic of cryptocurrencies. He was asked about them in the backdrop of the Supreme Court's observation on crypto currency last month. Malhotra said that there has been no new development on cryptocurrencies. 'There is no new development as far as crypto is concerned. A committee of the government is looking after this.' 'Of course, as you are aware, we are concerned about crypto because that can hamper financial stability and monetary policy,' Malhotra said. The Supreme Court in an observation on May 19 asked the Centre why it is not making a clear cut policy on cryptocurrency. 'Why does Centre not come out with a clear cut policy on regulating cryptocurrency,' a bench of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh asked. The remarks from the Supreme Court came when it was hearing a bail plea of an accused who was held for illegal Bitcoin trade in Gujarat. The accused, Shailesh Babulal Bhatt, had moved top court for bail. The SC termed Bitcoin trade as an illicit trade more or less like "hawala" business. On May 5, the top court said trading in Bitcoin in India was like "dealing with a refined way of Hawala business" as it lamented the Centre's inability to come up with a clear regime on regulating virtual currency so far. India is currently working on a discussion paper for cryptocurrencies and an inter-ministerial group (IMG), comprising officials from RBI, Sebi and finance ministry, is looking into global norms. In absence of any regulation, cryptocurrency is not yet illegal in India. The discussion paper will give the stakeholders an opportunity to give their views before India decides on its policy stance on cryptocurrencies. In 2022, the government announced a flat 30 per cent tax on gains arising from cryptocurrencies. Taxing income from cryptocurrencies does not necessarily and explicitly legalise cryptocurrencies. Currently, crypto assets are unregulated in India.
