Can you spot yourself among the Wire faithful at Wembley?
THOUSANDS of Warrington Wolves supporters were at Wembley on Saturday to cheer their side on in the Challenge Cup Final.
Ultimately, it ended in heartbreak for them and their team as The Wire had victory snatched away from them at the death by Hull KR, who edged to an 8-6 victory.

Jared Cannonier vs. Michael Page prediction, pick, start time for UFC 319
Jared Cannonier and Michael Page meet on the main card of UFC 319 at United Center in Chicago. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom. Last event: 4-2 UFC main cards, 2025: 80-60-1 Jared Cannonier vs. Michael Page UFC 319 preview Cannonier (18-8 MMA, 11-8 UFC) returned to the win column in his last outing with a fourth-round main event finish of Gregory Rodrigues in February. The result halted a two-fight skid against Nassourdine Imavov and Caio Borralho. Before those setbacks, the former title challenger won back-to-back decisions against Sean Strickland and Marvin Vettori. ... Page (23-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) picked up his second UFC win in February, earning a unanimous decision nod against Shara Magomedov. A decision loss to Ian Machado Garry followed his debut decision win over Kevin Holland. Jared Cannonier vs. Michael Page UFC 319 expert pick, prediction Serving as a strange offering at middleweight is a matchup between Jared Cannonier and Michael Page. I'm not sure if Page even wants to fight at 185 pounds again or if this is just another case of the UFC desperately needing to fill their event schedule by any means necessary, but this fight could leave a lot of us feeling silly for ignoring Cannonier's size and on-paper grappling edge in this spot. And though I'm tempted to take a flier on the 41-year-old underdog after seeing him attend the pre-fight pressers looking like Omar from "The Wire," I can't ignore the fact that counter fighters with jabs and footwork have traditionally proven to be stylistic kryptonite for Cannonier. There is a shocking finishing upside for fighters here, but I'll officially pick Page to peck away at Cannonier from range in a fight that could be frustrating to watch. Jared Cannonier vs. Michael Page UFC 319 odds The oddsmakers and the public are favoring the English fighter, listing Page -194 and Cannonier +162 via FanDuel Jared Cannonier vs. Michael Page UFC 319 start time, how to watch Cannonier and Page are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 10:40 p.m. ET. The fight broadcasts live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.

Huddersfield sign Evalds permanently from Hull KR
Former England international Niall Evalds has turned his loan at Huddersfield Giants from Hull KR into a permanent move. Evalds has signed a two-year contract with the Giants after injuries wrecked his 2025 campaign with the west Yorkshire club. The 31-year-old broke his foot just 35 minutes into his debut in March before he suffered a season-ending calf problem in July on his comeback. Part of the KR side that reached the 2024 Grand Final, Evalds will now stay at the John Smith's Stadium until at least 2027. "When I signed on loan, it wasn't with a short-term view," Evalds said. "It was to be at Giants for the next few years. I want to focus on getting back to enjoying it and doing what I can do. "The start of my Giants career hasn't gone particularly to plan, but I'm here for the longer term and I'm working really hard in rehab to get back stronger for next year."

Are Warrington Wolves 'over-trying?' Sam Burgess has his say
ARE Warrington Wolves' players trying too hard to reverse their current predicament? There will certainly be differing opinions about the notion among the fanbase, but head coach Sam Burgess believes that has been a factor in their recent struggles to close out matches. However, he insists he sees light at the end of the tunnel – even if it may be too little, too late in terms of breaking into the top six. Ahead of Catalans Dragons' visit to The Halliwell Jones Stadium on Thursday, The Wire are looking to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat, with the previous three all coming by a score or less. The past two in particular – against high-flying opponents in Wigan Warriors and Leigh Leopards – have seen them in control and leading for large periods before succumbing to defeat. In order for those fortunes to change, Burgess has been clear on what his side needs to do. 'You need execution on both sides of the ball – we've given too much cheap ball away and haven't capitalised on a few opportunities,' he said. 'On Friday, there's the (Toby) King pass to (Joe) Philbin – it's two-v-one and it's six points all day long. Then we had another with Stef (Ratchford) out the back on the left which was three-v-one. 'It comes down to execution and we're working hard on those things. 'It's not through a lack of trying, but there's probably a bit of 'over-trying' going on. 'When things aren't going smoothly for you, these things don't tend to go your way but it's starting to come – I can feel it. 'We're seeing enough to be able to win games and then it comes down to a little bit of concentration at crucial time, and having that ability to make your play. 'In those tight games, that's what it comes down to and we lost them. We let momentum build too strongly against us and we've not had enough to stop it. 'We've found this year that every week, you've got to be on your game otherwise you get punished. 'Practice has been decent this week – we got out of it what we've needed to in a short turnaround.' As Burgess alludes to, time in which to work on things has been at a premium this week given they play again just six days after their last game. However, the turnaround into their Round 23 fixture at Huddersfield Giants is a much longer 10 days, meaning the coaching staff have been able to push the players a little harder in their one full training session of the week. 'It was a usual 'minus three' day on Monday, albeit we took a bit of the contact out,' Burgess said. 'We've got a longer turnaround into the next game, so we can afford to do a little bit more work than usual.' Catalans' preparation time is even shorter given they are stepping back out again five days after losing at Huddersfield on Saturday evening. In the aftermath of that game, Joel Tomkins' side were criticised heavily by their local press, with Perpignan-based newspaper L'Independent calling them 'a team without a soul' amid another difficult campaign which sees them sitting ninth in the Super League table. Nevertheless, Burgess insists his side are paying little attention to that and are preparing to face the side that almost stormed back to victory against them in Perpignan last month, only for Josh Thewlis' late try to seal a 24-20 win. 'I tend not to worry too much about what the press say and it'll be no different this week,' he said. 'We'll prep hard for them because they've got some quality players. 'In the game we played over there a few weeks ago, we didn't get our best performance out there in the second half so we'll be looking to improve that.'
