She wore them for the first time under a dress while attending a baby shower, for her sister on July 27, 2024 and thought a bee had flown into her dress after she "felt this burning" on her upper right thigh.
Rushing to the bathroom to see what had happened, Molly-May was forced to rip her shorts off after she says the elastane stretchy material had "melted" into her skin.
She attended A&E at St Thomas' Hospital, London, the following day where she was told she could be "scarred for life".
After complaining to TikTok Shop through the help function on the app, she says she was given just a £10 coupon as compensation.
Molly-May, an executive assistant, from Kennington, south London, said: "I felt this burning on my upper bum cheek and side of my leg.
"For some reason I thought a bee had got into my dress.
"I went to the toilet to see what the hell was going on.
"The shorts had melted into my leg.
"So I've had to rip them off and I've been left with first and second degree burns.
"I'm unable to walk properly at the moment.
I tried 3 shapewear bodysuits under my outfit, there was a clear winner, I'm 155 lbs and an Amazon buy gave me back fat
"The hospital where I went said I could be scarred for life at this point."
Molly-May had only worn the shorts once before briefly, to try them on and make sure they fit, before her sister's baby shower.
After taking them off and getting through the rest of the event in pain Molly-May attended hospital the following day to get checked over.

"I thought 'I'll just leave it' but it was agonising and had gotten worse," she said.
"I had to go to A&E on the Monday and had to be treated in the urgent treatment centre for burns.
"I've been bandaged up ever since.
"They confirmed it's definitely a burn and that's what happened.
"They said 'it's strange, we don't really know if it's a heat burn or a chemical reaction'."

Molly-May added: "I now can't find the seller on Google - which makes me think it wasn't legit in the first place.
"I sent TikTok Shop a message with pics of all the burns and the melted shorts and said 'this is what happened'.
"I spoke to an agent and said they'd need to pass it on to a specialist team.
They said 'it's strange, we don't really know if it's a heat burn or a chemical reaction'

"I sent another chaser message.
"They came back to me and said, 'We can refund you and give you a £10 coupon'.
"I said 'I don't feel comfortable accepting a coupon from you to be honest'.

"I'll never be shopping from that shop again.
"It's insulting.
"They said, 'Unfortunately nothing we can do'.
"When I've been talking to friends and people at work and stuff, they've told me they've bought similar things and said 'we felt really irritated'.
"It's just made me overly aware now.
"You think 'that's a nice little bargain' but it could leave you like me scarred for life.
"Any sort of budget or third party sellers I won't ever order from them again.

"I'm starting to scar already from some bits of the burn".
Molly-May has had to work from home whilst she recovers, and has been advised to attend the doctors if she sees any changes.
TikTok confirmed the listing and seller page was removed from the platform in June last year.
A spokesperson said TikTok has already responded and given compensation to the buyer after the complaint.

The 10 signs of ‘brain swelling' sloth fever which could be spread by sex after cases spotted in UK for the first time

THE UK has reported its first-ever cases of flu-like 'sloth fever'. Three people tested positive for the disease, officially called Oropouche virus, between January and June 2025, new data from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) says. 4 The little-known virus, spread to humans by mosquitoes and biting midges - unlike the name suggests - was also reported in Europe last summer for the first time after it started spreading rapidly in Latin America. Historically, Oropouche was confined to within the Amazon basin in South America, including Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, and Panama. In 2024, outbreaks also appeared in these regions as well as in Cuba and Barbados, the likely source of some of the 19 cases of sloth fever reported in Europe last year. The first cases of the oropouche in the UK were all linked to travel from Brazil, the UKHSA said. The bug typically circulates between primates, including sloths - hence the nickname - before it is occasionally passed to humans by the critters. Mosquitos and midges found in the UK and wider Europe do not currently spread Oropouche virus disease. Until last year, experts didn't think the virus could spread from person to person. But a study published by Italian scientists in December suggested it could spread in semen, sparking concerns about possible sexual transmission. Scientists are currently investigating whether the infection can be passed on from mothers to babies during pregnancy, after the virus was linked to stillbirths and birth defects. For most people, Oropouche infections are mild, with symptoms typically showing up 4 to 8 days after a bite. I tried the best ways to stop mosquitoes on your summer hols - from sprays, patches & bracelets, one was a dud and stank These can include: Fever Headache Joint pain Muscle aches Chills Nausea and vomiting Rash Sensitivity to light Dizziness Pain behind the eyes UKHSA chiefs have urged anyone who becomes unwell with these symptoms after travel to affected areas. Symptoms typically last less than a week but can occasionally reoccur. In severe cases, the virus can also attack the brain leading to meningitis or encephalitis, which can be fatal. 4 4 It is estimated that fewer than four per cent of patients will develop neurological symptoms. The first ever deaths linked to the virus were reported in Brazil in July 2024, where, sadly, two people died. There are currently no specific antiviral treatments or vaccines available. Treatment for symptoms can include rest, fluids, and the use of medicines to reduce pain and fever. The 6 things all travellers must do to protect themselves from 'sloth virus' Dubbed a "mysterious threat But it is transmitted by biting midges and mosquitoes that have fed on sloth, monkey or bird blood, so avoiding bites can help keep you safe. There are also five other steps you can take to protect yourself. 1. Prevent bites The number one thing you can do to protect yourself from Oropouche, as well as dengue fever, Zika and other viruses transmitted by insects, is preventing bites, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This means using insect repellent, wearing long-sleeved tops and trousers, and staying in places with air conditioning or that use window and door screens and/or mosquito nets. Avoiding strong perfumes, soaps, shampoos and deodorants can also help, the NHS says. 2. Time it right Anyone who has been to areas where Oropouche is present should continue to prevent insect bites for three weeks after travel, the CDC warns. "This is to mitigate additional spread of the virus and potential importation into unaffected areas," it adds. 3. Know the signs Another major line of defence is being aware of the most common symptoms of Oropouche. The CDC says these are a fever and headache, which usually begin three to 10 days after being bitten by an infected bug. Other potential signs include muscle aches, stiff joints, nausea, vomiting, chills and sensitivity to light. "Most people infected with Oropouche feel better within a week, but symptoms often come back," the CDC adds. 4. Seek medical help According to the CDC, travellers to areas with Oropouche transmission, including South America or the Caribbean, who develop a fever, chills, headache, joint pain or muscle pain during or within two weeks after travel should: Seek medical care and tell their healthcare provider when and where they travelled Not take aspirin or other NSAIDS (e.g. ibuprofen) to reduce the risk of bleeding Continue to prevent insect bites during the first week of illness to avoid further spread, especially in areas where mosquitoes or biting midges are active 5. Plan ahead Before jetting off, pregnant holidaymakers should discuss travel plans with their GP, CDC guidance states. This should include their reason for travel, how to prevent insect bites, and all potential risks associated with travel. The dangers of Oropouche during pregnancy are unknown, but experts say it acts similarly to Zika, which can be passed to unborn babies and cause miscarriages, stillbirths, birth defects, seizures, vision problems and hearing loss. 6. Avoid non-essential travel Finally, if you are pregnant, you should reconsider non-essential travel to Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia and Cuba, the CDC says. "If travel is unavoidable, pregnant travellers should strictly follow Oropouche virus prevention recommendations to prevent insect bites during travel," it adds.

I was turned away by three Spanish hospitals 'because I'm British'

A British holidaymaker revealed her 'holiday from hell' after being turned away from three hospitals in Spain whilst suffering from an extreme bout of travellers diarrhoea. Kay, who regularly shares her globe-trotting adventures as a 'military wife' on TikTok, took to the platform earlier this month to recount her nightmare experience. In a series of clips posted to her account @kayholsav, the traveller described how she was largely confined to her room at the Marylanza hotel in Tenerife after developing an upset stomach from eating a salad she claimed was 'washed with tap water.' Traveller's diarrhoea, often referred to as 'holiday tummy,' is a common ailment for holidaymakers staying in areas with poor sanitation and hygiene. It is often caused by consuming contaminated food or tap water that may contain harmful bacteria, viruses, or parasites. In one video, she laid bare the grim details of her illness, admitting she'd 'rather be dragged through a bush backwards' than have to endure a similar experience. She said: 'I arrived on the Friday, had dinner at the hotel, and from then on I cannot physically keep anything in my system. We are now on Sunday, and I still physically cannot keep anything in my system.' The content creator reiterated that she follows a vegetarian diet and had only consumed fresh vegetables and pizza at the four-star TUI resort, and had also avoided the tap water. The content creator (pictured at a private hospital in Tenerife) reiterated that she follows a vegetarian diet and had only consumed fresh vegetables and pizza at the four-star TUI resort, and had also avoided the tap water Kay added that her symptoms were so extreme that a doctor had to be called out to her hotel room, which had cost her €100. She vented her frustration as she explained the doctor had warned that she was approximately two days away from being admitted into hospital. However, in a follow-up clip, she later claims she was turned away from three local hospitals on the popular island because she was an English tourist. In an accompanying comment, she says: 'The issue wasn't just the language barrier they were incredibly dismissive and honestly came across as quite racist. It felt like they just didn't want to help. 'That's exactly why we always get private travel insurance now private clinics actually treat you with respect and cater to all nationalities, not just locals. Luckily I ended up at the right hospital.' After admitting herself to a private facility, she shared in another video the treatments she'd received, such as an IV drip, fluids, antibiotics. Though she admitted her ordeal was the 'scariest experience of her life,' Kay went on to make a full recovery, and expressed her gratitude for the 'amazing' staff at the hospital. She said: 'Bless them - they didn't understand me, nor did I them, but they did their best. In a follow-up clip , she later claimed she was turned away from three local hospitals on the popular island because she was an English tourist 'I had severe dehydration and I had a bad stomach infection. They sent me home with antibiotics, probiotics and other stuff for my stomach.' Dozens of viewers flocked to Kay's page to share similar experiences of food poisoning in Spain and abroad. One person declared: 'I never ever ever will eat salad abroad for this you think they wash it in bottle water??' Another said: 'This happened to me in Benidorm!! I went for 10 days and was sick for 7 days, couldn't leave my room and couldn't get off the toilet. I feel so sorry for you girl, it's hell.' A third wrote: 'This happened me this year in Majorca, be careful, I'd bacterial stomach infection on return contaminated water (which I didn't drink) sometimes can b from the icecubes in drinks.' Regarding her negative experience with local hospitals, one person said: 'Everyone gets treated like this at public hospitals even Spanish residents, unfortunately doctors are pretty miserable in state hospitals due to long work hours and mediocre salaries.' Another wrote: 'The Insurance company usually has a list of hospitals they will accept. They want you to use the GHIC card and go to a public hospital. I had to do this in Mainland Spain this June.' The Daily Mail has reached out to TUI and the Marylanza Hotel for further comment. Dozens of viewers flocked to Kay's page to share similar experiences of food poisoning in Spain and abroad It comes after a flight attendant revealed the flight from Edinburgh to Alicante has the worst passengers. The staff shared a harrowing story of an altercation that took place at 30,000 feet – declaring it the most traumatic flight of her career. It involved three groups on stag dos – outnumbering the four members of cabin crew. 'It was just absolute chaos, they were screaming,' 32-year-old Kristina Galvydyte told The Telegraph. 'Imagine a night out in any British town at midnight on a Friday. It was like that.'

Gran preparing to die left family goodbye notes - then made 'miraculous' recovery

Gran preparing to die left family goodbye notes - then made 'miraculous' recovery Carole had been in and out of A&E for months but it wasn't until her daughter discovered a new medical device that she got to the bottom of her condition Carole said her friends used to cry when they visited her because of the state she was in (Image: Jam Press) A woman with deteriorating health was 'prepared to die' and writing out her last goodbyes to her family when her daughter made a last-ditch attempt for something that could help. Now Carole's 'miraculous' recovery has given her a new lease of life. ‌ She has even managed to move out of the care home she had been forced into. Carole's health issues first began after her husband's death in 2016 when she started overworking herself to keep busy. ‌ When she eventually retired at 65, the Devon local could feel her health fading fast. She told NeedToKnow: 'I noticed my bladder and gut had both stopped working, and I was really struggling to live comfortably. Over the next few years, I became increasingly ill, fatigued, and debilitated, also living with a lot of gut pain. ‌ 'I was so depressed and anxious as I had no idea what was happening to me, and the doctors had no answers. I became reliant upon antidepressants and different drugs.' Carole from Devon was penning her goodbyes when she started her 'miraculous' recovery (Image: Jam Press) By late 2023, Carole - she gave no last name - decided to move into a residential care home as she found herself journeying to A&E every few months at this point. She said: 'Every time I went to them, they would check me over and just send me straight back home. Article continues below 'I was constantly being told it was just anxiety, but it felt as though someone's hand was constantly squeezing my heart. My mobility had drastically declined, and I was in a poor state both physically and mentally. 'I knew I was going to die. I just felt so sick and like no one could fix it. I decided to write poems to my family as a way of saying goodbye.' But Carole's daughter Anna refused to give up and with a background in the health industry, the 42 year old believed she knew where to look. She eventually found a wearable medical device called Nurosym, which stimulates the vagus nerve, a vital connection between your brain, heart and digestive system. ‌ In November, a full year after moving to the care home, Carole got her Nurosym and first started noticing her sleeping patterns getting better within a matter of days. This quickly snowballed and left her pleading with the staff to let her out of her wheelchair. She said: 'When you look into it, the vagus nerve was the answer to all of my conditions, but there seems to be an ignorance to it. The doctors just never mentioned it. 'It was miraculous, everything just started to get better! After my sleep initially started to improve within just a couple of days, I started to see there might be a chance for me to get some quality of life back, but it just kept on improving. ‌ 'I was starting to worry the care home staff as everyone really just sat around in their chairs, and I had only been in wheelchairs since I came, but suddenly I wanted to walk around and just kept asking them to let me out!' Carole has now been able to move back home and enjoy an active life with her family (Image: Jam Press) Carole started reducing the number of medications she took and was able to move back into her own home in April. Her recovery was so transformational it prompted Anna to buy her own Nurosym and try it out for herself. Article continues below She said: 'Mum's not susceptible to placebo at all, this is something that has really worked for her, and changed her life. She has no side effects anymore from the ridiculous number of drugs she was having to take, and we desperately want people to know there is a way for people to get better in a non-invasive way. 'I've even invested in my own device as I suffer from anxiety. For me, my sleep improved within just a few weeks, I don't get this sinking feeling in my stomach anymore, and I just have such a positive frame of mind that it's completely changed my outlook.' Carole shared: 'My friends used to come and see me and just cry; now they're still crying when they visit, but it's for a completely different reason.'
