Aryna Sabalenka is the favourite for this year's Wimbledon title, particularly after a number of her closest rivals were knocked out in early tournament shocks.
Standing in her way is Britain's Emma Raducanu, who admits she is facing the best player in the world right now. With her current world number one status, Sabalenka appears to be in formidable form, a streak that's seemingly reinforced by the support of her partner Georgios Frangulis, the successful CEO of Oakberry acai, who is regularly seen rooting for her from the sidelines.

Frangulis, who hails from Brazil with Greek ancestry and started dating Sabalenka last year, is often spotted among her coaching team, offering encouragement. His presence has become increasingly familiar at her games, and he is frequently acknowledged in her victory speeches.

Sabalenka herself has lauded the invaluable support from Frangulis, calling it "priceless", as reported by the Express.
Their romance caught media attention in May 2024 when they were seen getting close at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in the Haas garage, a Formula One team sponsored by Frangulis' company, reports Wales Online.
The revelation came shortly after Sabalenka had to cope with the tragic loss of her ex-boyfriend, Konstantin Koltsov.

The former ice hockey player passed away tragically following an incident at a Miami hotel in March. Despite no longer being together, Sabalenka conveyed her profound grief, stating: "While we were no longer together, my heart is broken."
Within the sporting realm, personal relationships and business partnerships frequently overlap, as evidenced by Sabalenka's connection to her new partner's enterprise Oakberry. Prior to January's Australian Open, she struck a sponsorship agreement with the açaí-focused company.
Oakberry's founder and chief executive George Frangulis was thrilled about the collaboration with the tennis star, commenting: "Aryna Sabalenka is a great example of the future of tennis and we are working closely with her to create some really exciting things over the years."

Established in 2016, Oakberry has experienced extraordinary global expansion under Frangulis's leadership, now present across more than 35 nations and generating him an estimated wealth of £80 million.
This sum considerably exceeds Sabalenka's reported net worth of £14.5 million according to Forbes.
Frangulis, a former law student at Fundacao Armando Alvares Penteado, isn't merely operating a thriving enterprise; he also plays a vital part in Sabalenka's personal life, accompanying her on the tennis tour. At the age of 36, Frangulis is more than just a professional pillar for Sabalenka; he's integral to her personal happiness.

Sabalenka has openly praised his impact, telling People: "There was a really tough period where I was really happy to have him by my side, always cheering me up, always making sure that we are doing some fun stuff.
"But I make sure I kind of forget about tennis and focus on the good things and enjoy my life.
"Even when things are going wrong in my career, he was my biggest support and yeah, really happy to have him by my side."

Rangers boss Russell Martin leaves fans bemused as he changes outfit TWICE in one night against Panathinaikos

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THE Russell Martin era at Rangers got off to a flyer with a huge Champions League qualifying win over Panathinaikos. But many fans couldn't help but notice the Gers boss' OUTFIT CHANGES during the course of the night. The Light Blues faced Greek giants Panathinaikos in a crunch Champions League second qualifying round encounter. After a nervy first half, 18-year old Findlay Curtis fired Rangers into an early second half lead with a stunning strike. Martin's men took control after Giorgos Vagiannidis' red card and debutant Djeidi Gassama's brilliant goal sealed a 2-0 first leg victory for the Gers. It's certainly the kind of start Martin would've been hoping for. While Light Blues fans were pleased to see their new boss get things up and running with a huge win, many couldn't help but notice a quirk! That was the fact that Martin had changed his outfit during the course of the evening. Not once - but twice! It's always been the tradition for Rangers managers to wear a suit on matchdays. So Martin raised a few eyebrows during the Ibrox friendly with Club Brugge earlier this month when he wore a black T-shirt on the sidelines. Rangers transfer special assesses whether Conor Coady deal is OFF, if Hamza Igamane will leave and when the Gers can expect more incomings His choice of footwear had also caught the attention when he was unveiled as Gers boss in June. Last night, it seemed like Martin had reached a compromise! Arriving with the squad at Ibrox, the Light Blues head coach was sporting a full suit, shirt and club tie - as well as brown brogues. When he spoke to the match broadcasters before the game, he was wearing the suit. However, when he emerged from the tunnel to take charge of the game from the dugout, many fans noticed he had CHANGED his attire. While the blazer from his suit remained, Martin had swapped the shirt and tie for a black T-shirt. He'd also changed his shoes from the brogues to the ones he wore when was presented as Rangers boss in June. But after the game, Martin changed his attire AGAIN. When he emerged for post match media duties, the smart gear was back! Martin was once again spotted in the full suit, with the shirt and club tie once again making an appearance. It all didn't go unnoticed with many Rangers fans commenting the quirky occurrence. One bemused punter asked: "Does he not wear the suit then?" While another joked: "More outfit changes tonight than a Taylor Swift gig." A third said: "Either wear the suit or don't!" While another posted: "You can just tell he's choking to get that suit off." Some Rangers fans were seemingly not at all fussed about what the boss wears. One simply said: "A manager wearing a suit doesn't make him a better manager." Rangers will travel to Athens to face Panathinaikos in the second leg next Wednesday. The winners of the tie will face Servette or Viktoria Plzen in the third qualifying round, with the Swiss tie having a 1-0 lead from the first leg in that tie. 5 Findlay Curtis blasted Rangers in front at Ibrox Credit: Willie Vass 5 Djeidi Gassama struck on his debut to make it 2-0 Credit: Getty Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

Jannik Sinner rehires the fitness coach he fired for playing a role in his doping case

Wimbledon champion Jannik Sinner has rehired Umberto Ferrara as his fitness coach nearly a year after firing him for his role in the top-ranked player's doping case. The move comes after Sinner recently removed fitness coach Marco Panichi and physiotherapist Ulises Badio from his team. "Umberto has played an important role in Jannik's development to date, and his return reflects a renewed focus on continuity and performance at the highest level,' a statement from Sinner's team said Wednesday. Last year, Sinner tested positive twice for a trace amount of an anabolic steroid in March; the case wasn't made public until August, shortly before the U.S. Open, which he ended up winning for the second of his four Grand Slam titles. He initially was completely cleared, based on the defense that he accidentally was exposed to the banned substance, Clostebol, via a massage from his then-physiotherapist, Giacomo Naldi. Sinner said his fitness trainer at the time, Ferrara, purchased a product in Italy and gave it to Naldi for a cut on Naldi's finger. Naldi then treated Sinner while not wearing gloves. Sinner then fired Naldi and Ferrara, and Ferrara was hired briefly by Matteo Berrettini, another Italian player. The World Anti-Doping Agency appealed the exoneration, and Sinner agreed to serve a three-month ban that ended right before the Italian Open in May of this year. Sinner, who won Wimbledon this month, will return to action at the Cincinnati Open next month as he prepares to defend his U.S. Open title. ___

Venus Williams, 45, becomes oldest winner of WTA match since Martina Navratilova

The 45-year-old defeated fellow American Peyton Stearns 6-3 6-4 for her first singles victory since August 2023. It was Williams' first singles match in 16 months and the unranked seven-time former grand slam singles champion will next face Polish fifth seed Magdalena Frech. Just 45-year-old things ™️@Venuseswilliams becomes the oldest player to win a tour-level singles match since then-47-year-old Martina Navratilova defeated Catalina Castano at 2004 Wimbledon.#MubadalaCitiDCOpen — wta (@WTA) July 23, 2025 Navratilova was 47 when she won her final singles match in 2004 in the opening round of Wimbledon. Williams, who returned to action on Monday with a doubles triumph alongside Hailey Baptiste, said on the WTA website: 'I think it was a big win for me today. 'It won't be easy. It's not easy for anyone out here. So I know I'll have to fight for every match, but I'm up for that. 'There are no limits for excellence. It's all about what's in your head and how much you're able to put into it. If you put in the work mentally, physically, and emotionally, then you can have the result.' Britain's Dan Evans, 10 years Williams' junior and battling to return to the top 100, posted another impressive victory, beating American 13th seed Alex Michelsen 6-4 6-4. Evans won the biggest title of his career in the American capital two years ago but was unable to defend it last year after opting to play doubles with Andy Murray at the Olympics in the Scot's swansong. Evans' win capped a brilliant day for the British players, with Emma Raducanu beginning her build-up towards next month's US Open with an impressive straight-sets victory over seventh seed Marta Kostyuk. 'Extremely good win,' Raducanu said in her on-court interview. 'Playing Marta first round is extremely difficult and we've always had some tough matches. 'I'm happy with the way I fought through the first set and in the second, stayed tough when I needed to.' Meanwhile, Cameron Norrie completed a notable win over second seed and world number seven Lorenzo Musetti to book his place in the last 16. Norrie, the world number 41, hit back from losing the opening set to triumph 3-6 6-2 6-3 and score his first win over a top 10-ranked player since reaching the quarter-finals at Indian Wells in 2023.
