Design Your Future announces advisory committee for second edition
Bahrain-based Design Your Future (DYF) has announced the formation of its Advisory Committee for the second edition of its programme.
Comprising professionals from diverse industries and students from different universities, the committee will provide strategic directions to help DYF continue its mission of guiding young individuals toward clarity in their career paths and decision-making.
Building on the success of the first edition, DYF remains committed to bridging the gap between education and the professional world. DYF serves as a guide — offering insights, industry exposure, and mentorship that enable students, young professionals, and parents to make informed choices about their futures, said a statement.
The Advisory Committee includes Zahraa Taher as Chairperson, alongside respected industry leaders Dr Zainab Al-Tooq from the Higher Education Council, Shaikha Buallay from Injaz Bahrain, Maryam Rahimi from Tamkeen, Kalyan Subramanian from KPMG, Nabeela Al Qaseer, a life coach, and Zainab Assiri, a training consultant.
Representing the voice of students, the committee also welcomes Fatima Hussain from the University of Bahrain, Mariam Almardini from King's College London, Ali Aryan from Bahrain Bayan School, and Ahmed Almerbati from the British University of Bahrain.
Aligned with Bahrain's Vision 2030, the Advisory Committee will play a key role in ensuring DYF continues to foster connections between education and industry, enabling young individuals to gain exposure to professional environments, understand market needs, and develop the right perspectives to navigate their career paths.
The second edition of DYF will continue to expand its initiatives to provide participants with practical exposure and real-world guidance. The DYF Business Show will integrate students into corporate teams, offering firsthand experience and industry insights.
The DYF Podcast will feature discussions on career pathways, industry trends, and the evolving job market, providing young individuals with valuable perspectives. The Skills Hunt initiative will encourage participants to sharpen their decision-making, adaptability, and technical skills in a competitive and engaging environment. The MC's Competition will identify and support students with strong public speaking potential, while interactive workshops will expose participants to leadership, communication, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. The DYF Education & Future Design Forum will bring together educators, professionals, and students to explore the evolving role of education in shaping career development.
Commenting on the formation of the Advisory Committee, Zahraa Taher, Chairperson, stated: 'With the second edition of DYF, we are excited to work with a team of advisors whose expertise will help shape this initiative. DYF is about clarity—ensuring that students and young professionals have access to the right perspectives, networks, and insights to make informed career decisions.'

Bahraini Parliamentary Delegation Concludes Landmark Visit to the United Kingdom
His Excellency Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of Bahrain's Parliament, concluded a successful official visit to the United Kingdom. The visit came at the invitation of the Right Honourable Sir Lindsay Hoyle, Speaker of the House of Commons, as part of a mutual drive to usher in a new era of parliamentary cooperation and shared progress between the two nations. The high-level delegation engaged in a series of strategic meetings and discussions focused on boosting parliamentary, political, and economic collaboration. Central to the visit was a pivotal dialogue between HE Al-Musallam and Sir Lindsay Hoyle, during which both parties agreed to embark on a renewed phase of bilateral parliamentary partnership. The Avenues - Bahrain unveils exciting Eid festivities
The Avenues-Bahrain, the largest sea front shopping and entertainment destination in the kingdom, is set to welcome visitors this Eid with an exciting line-up of performances and activities that promise delightful festivities for the entire family. Beginning today (June 5), until June 14, The Avenues-Bahrain and its vibrant districts will come alive with daily shows, immersive roaming acts, and captivating acrobatic performances. Guests can look forward to Jumping Stilts, Roaming Characters, and the Roaming Brass Band, as well as special appearances by Stilt Walkers and talented Acrobat Duos and Hand Balance performers. The celebrations will unfold in multiple time slots each evening, allowing families to enjoy the experience at their leisure, said Avenues-Bahrain in a statement. As a premier integrated lifestyle hub with a total leasable area of 80,000 sqm and a length of 1.3 km, The Avenues-Bahrain brings together global brands, gourmet cuisines, and family-family recreation under one roof. The development's Phase I features 40,000 sqm of retail and leisure space, housing 125 renowned stores and restaurants, a state-of-the-art cinema and multiple kids' entertainment centers, all set against the backdrop of Bahrain's largest seafront promenade, it stated. Following the recent expansion under Phase II, the destination now boasts an additional 40,000 sqm of retail area, which accommodates over 200 stores with more than 50% currently open, said a company spokesman. "This expansion also introduced unique districts, including Electra, The Plaza, The Souk and The Marketplace, with each offering a distinct atmosphere. Visitors can now enjoy new attractions such as an indoor ice-skating rink and more kids' play zones, as well as shop for essentials at Lulu Hypermarket," he stated.
