JNU begins PG, ADOP admissions for 2025-26 academic session

Indian Express25-05-2025

The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has started the admission process for its Postgraduate (PG) and Advanced Diploma of Proficiency (ADOP) programmes for the academic year 2025-26. The online submission of application forms by students started on May 23 and will continue till 11:50 pm on June 16, 2025.
As per the official update, the application correction window will remain open from June 17 to 18, 2025, allowing candidates to rectify errors in their submitted forms. The university is likely to release the first merit list on June 27, followed by the second list on July 5 and the third on July 14. The final date for admission and registration formalities has been set for August 14, 2025.
The university issued an official notification on May 23, inviting online applications from eligible candidates who have appeared for the CUET (PG) 2025 examination, the results of which were declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 6.
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has opened the application process for its upcoming admissions, with candidates invited to apply online via the official websites — jnuee.jnu.ac.in and jnu.ac.in. Applicants will need to log in using their NTA application number and date of birth to access the portal.
The university has urged prospective students to thoroughly review the e-prospectus and confirm their eligibility before submitting applications. Key details such as intake capacity, eligibility conditions, and programme-specific requirements have been made available on the admission portals for reference.
For candidates shortlisted through the merit list, physical verification will be held on multiple dates in July, specifically on the 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 28th, and 29th. An additional verification session is scheduled on August 13 and 14 for those selected in the final merit list.
The university may also issue a final call for admission against vacant seats by August 8. Applicants are encouraged to stay updated through the official websites for any changes or additional announcements.
Meanwhile, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has formed a committee to explore the feasibility of conducting an in-house entrance exam for PhD admissions in Korean language, arts and aesthetics, and labour studies, university officials said.
This is likely to be a one-time measure as these subjects are not covered under the University Grants Commission's (UGC's) National Eligibility Test (NET), prompting the university to seek alternatives. Admissions for the three PhD programmes remain uncertain as the ongoing admission cycle ends on December 4, leaving prospective students anxious.
