Mumbai: Shares of One MobiKwik Systems Limited, the parent company of digital payments platform MobiKwik, fell sharply on Wednesday, dropping over 9 per cent to trade below its IPO issue price, following the expiry of the mandatory six-month lock-in period for pre-IPO shareholders.
The stock slipped 9.34 per cent or Rs 25.15 to close the trading session at Rs 244.25 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). MobiKwik had made a strong market debut late last year, listing at a 58 per cent premium over its issue price of Rs 279.
However, the stock has since seen a steep fall and has now erased nearly 64 per cent of its value from its post-listing high of Rs 698.
Meanwhile, in the March quarter (Q4) of FY25, MobiKwik's net loss widened significantly to Rs 56 crore, compared to just Rs 0.6 crore in the same quarter previous fiscal (Q4 FY24).
On a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis, its revenue from operations dipped slightly to Rs 267.7 crore from Rs 269.4 crore.
The company also reported an EBITDA loss of Rs 56.5 crore, which was higher than the Rs 47.6 crore loss in the previous quarter.
Despite the losses, the company highlighted strong growth in its payments business. Its Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) surged 203 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 1,15,900 crore.
For the full fiscal year 2024-25, MobiKwik reported a total loss of Rs 121.5 crore, reversing from a profit of Rs 14 crore in FY24.
However, its revenue grew 33.7 per cent to Rs 1,170.1 crore, which the company credited to robust growth in its payments segment.
By the end of FY25, MobiKwik had 176.4 million users, with 20.6 million new users added during the year.
MobiKwik offers a variety of digital payment services including the MobiKwik Wallet, UPI, Pocket UPI and Zaakpay, its payment gateway platform.

Sinking of MSC ELSA 3: Kerala HC orders conditional arrest of sister ship in claims plea

Kochi: The HC on Wednesday ordered the conditional arrest of the vessel MSC Polo II, a sister vessel of MSC ELSA 3, which had capsized and sunk off the Kerala coast on May 25. The order was passed in a petition filed by Sans Cashew India Private Ltd, seeking compensation for the loss of cargo valued at Rs 74 lakh. Justice M A Abdul Hakhim further clarified that the vessel may be released upon the production of a demand draft for the said amount before the HC registrar general. Earlier, HC had similarly detained another vessel, MSC MANASA F, in connection with petitions filed by various companies to recover compensation for consignment losses arising from the sinking of ELSA 3. In the present petition, the petitioner submitted that it had lost two consignments of Ghana dried raw cashew nuts (in shell) shipped from Tema port, Ghana, to Tuticorin port, India. The petitioner contended that they are entitled to recover the maritime claim under the Admiralty (Jurisdiction and Settlement of Maritime Claims) Act, 2017, amounting to Rs 73.49 lakh. Meanwhile, the counsel for the vessel owner submitted that they had filed caveats before HC to prevent the arrest of vessels operated by the company within Indian territorial waters. It was also contended that the vessel is beyond 14 nautical miles from the Vizhinjam port and hence not available within the jurisdiction of this court. Nevertheless, HC ordered the conditional arrest of MSC Polo II until the production of the demand draft. Later in the afternoon, the shipping company produced the demand draft before the registrar. The petition has been adjourned to June 23.

Pinarayi Vijayan on Aranmula project: Let files move, we'll take a rational call

T'puram/Kottayam: Chief minister on Saturday sought to distance himself from the ongoing administrative processing of a new industrial project proposed on the now-defunct Aranmula airport land. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now He stated the files were moving "without his knowledge" and that no final decision was taken yet. "Files may be moving, but not with my knowledge. Let them move — we will examine and take a rational decision," Vijayan told reporters when asked about the Rs 600-crore electronics manufacturing cluster proposed by a private firm linked to the original promoters of the airport project. "I'm not aware of this project. I'm not against any project, but decisions can be made only after proper examination," he said, indicating that the project has not yet received political clearance. The CM's comments come amid mounting questions on whether the same LDF govt that scrapped the Aranmula airport project in 2016 — citing its location on paddy and wetland — was now considering a fresh project on the very same 335.25-acre plot. Make it a reality: P'thitta MP Pathanamthitta MP Anto Antony urged the state govt to make the project a reality. The Congress functionary said the project would lead to a comprehensive development of the district and its adjoining regions. He also termed the project the biggest in the district, with an investment of Rs 5,000 crore, providing jobs for thousands. "The project is being implemented as a joint venture between Centre and the state govt. If it becomes a reality, it will be a great relief for the people of Pathanamthitta who migrate for work," the MP said. Instead of welcoming a project that will provide employment opportunities to the new generation, pseudo-environmentalists are trying to destroy it, he said.

Commercial taxes department unearths illegal cigarette unit in Nawada

Patna: The commercial taxes department has uncovered an unauthorised cigarette manufacturing unit in Hisuwa, Nawada, and its massive tax evasion during a statewide operation led by commissioner-cum-secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh. The discovery happened during a surprise vehicle inspection conducted by 40 teams across Bihar on Tuesday. According to a press release issued by the department, officials in Biharsharif intercepted a suspicious vehicle supposedly carrying match boxes. While the e-way bill showed transportation of goods from Hisuwa, Nawada, to Ranchi, the vehicle was found primarily loaded with cigarettes, with the match boxes arranged as a curtain to conceal the actual contents. The operation, monitored through the department's Command and Control Centre, led investigators to a deeper conspiracy. Further investigation revealed the involvement of a large syndicate operating an unauthorised cigarette manufacturing unit in Hisuwa. The factory was found to be using high-tech machinery for cigarette production. The case took a serious turn when officials discovered that the firm showed sales worth Rs 1.6 lakh for the entire year, while evidence suggested cigarette manufacturing worth crores of rupees. The business permit, issued from Ara, was traced to a non-existent company, indicating a well-planned tax evasion. Under the direction of the additional commissioner (administration), Magadh Division, local authorities are coordinating with the district administration in Nawada. The investigation has now expanded to Patna City, where the main operators are believed to be based. Officials are also examining other related licences and permits, the release said.
