Dumfries and Galloway curlers reach quarter-finals of World Junior Mixed Curling Championships
Dalbeattie's Orrin Carson and Stranraer's Robyn Munro represented Scotland at the competition in Edmonton, Canada.
Two Dumfries and Galloway curlers reached the quarter-finals of the first ever World Junior Mixed Curling Championships.
Dalbeattie's Orrin Carson and Stranraer's Robyn Munro represented Scotland at the competition, which took place in Edmonton, Canada.
And a fine display saw them top their group in the round-robin stage.
They beat Austria, Australia, Hungary, Brazil and the United states, their only defeat coming to China.
That run of results was enough to put them through to the quarter-finals.

Unfortunately, that was where their run ended as they suffered a narrow 7-6 defeat to Sweden.
It's been a good year for Orrin and Robyn as the pair won the Scottish Curling Junior Mixed Doubles in Dumfries and also won gold in the mixed doubles at the World University Games.
Robyn said: 'It's a bitter-sweet end to what has been a really successful season together, undefeated through both junior events in Scotland and winning gold at the first World University Games and to win the right to compete at the first ever World Junior mixed doubles together.
'Especially in our first season playing together, it's been a journey that we can both be very proud of.
'We're both just a bit gutted that we couldn't make it to the medal games, but we gave it our all and I enjoyed my last event as a junior and I'm glad to have shared that with Orrin and he has another year of juniors, so I'm sure he'll be back to try for more.'

Speaking after the heartbreaking defeat, Sinner was quick to congratulate Alcaraz on his triumph. "First of all, congratulations Carlos," he said. "It was an amazing performance from you again. It was an amazing battle. "Congratulations to you and your team, you did an amazing job. I'm very happy for you. You deserve it so congratulations. It is easier to play than to talk right now. Thank you so much to my team for helping me put myself in this position. "We tried our best today. We gave everything we had. Some time ago, we would have loved to be here so it's still been an amazing tournament. Even though it is very difficult right now, it is okay. "It is a big privilege for me to be here and to play here. For me, Paris is a really special place. I have achieved many great things here. I'm still happy with this one. It is an amazing trophy. I won't sleep very well tonight but it is okay. "Thank you so much to the organisers of everything for making this tournament such a special event. Juventus respond as Andrea Berta puts Kenan Yildiz on summer transfer shortlist
Arsenal are interested in Juventus star Kenan Yildiz, but they do not want to sell the 20-year-old winger and are set to open talks with him over a new contract Juventus are reportedly planning to offer Kenan Yildiz a new contract in a bid to ward off interest from clubs like Arsenal. Yildiz enjoyed an impressive campaign for Juventus this season, producing 16 goal contributions in 48 appearances across all competitions. The 20-year-old is attracting interest from a number of sides across Europe and Arsenal are among them, with Mikel Arteta keen to strengthen his forward line this summer. Italian outlet Tuttosport are reporting that Arsenal are the club who are 'most interested' in Yildiz. The Gunners are said to have a longstanding interest in Yildiz and are ready to spend between €50million (£42m) and €60m (£50.5m) on a new winger. It is claimed that Yildiz and Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams are Arsenal's top targets. However, Juventus believe Yildiz is worth closer to €100m (£84m) and they are ready to open talks with the Turkey international over a new deal which could see him double his salary. Juventus endured a disappointing campaign as they finished fourth in Serie A, but they finished the season strongly after Igor Tudor replaced Thiago Motta as manager in March. "Since he arrived, we've been happy, we've been working hard. I'm happy with this season, but I want to improve in everything. "I'm always looking ahead. The No.10 shirt doesn't add any pressure.
