10 In-Demand Fully Remote Jobs That Pay $100,000+
Why should an employer hire you over hundreds of other professionals seeking the same remote job? Good news: fully remote jobs that pay six figures still exist. Even better news: they're growing in demand and hiring right now. The bad news? You can't be a mediocre candidate and still expect to secure a $100,000 job and full remote work benefits. The companies currently hiring for six-figure remote jobs are becoming increasingly selective, and for good reason. There's high competition for remote work: a recent CNBC story reported that "just 20% of LinkedIn postings are for remote or hybrid jobs, but they're getting 60% of applications on the platform." This makes it more difficult for recruiters and hiring managers to select and handpick their finalists. So, these employers often use challenges, personality tests, and other metrics to assess how well you fit into their culture and to assess your level of expertise, since they're not meeting you in person. Do you really have the skills that you claim on your resume? Because of these factors, to land a job at this level, you need to be a unicorn and you need to be strategic. This doesn't mean you need to be a genius hailing from FAANG companies or Ivy League colleges, but what it does mean is that your positioning needs to be loud and packed with value so that employers can clearly see why they should hire you over others. The first step is to understand where the demand is and what roles to target in the first place. This article will explore that further in the list below. But once you have this list, your next move is to ensure you clearly demonstrate your value through your portfolio, LinkedIn presence, thought leadership, networking, and answers to application questions (including your resume). The flexible and remote jobs board, FlexJobs, recently dropped a fresh breakdown of the top 10 in-demand remote jobs from their analysis of job postings on their platform, from January to May 2025. The list was shared privately via email. These roles all pay $100,000, and companies have been demanding these skillsets the most: If you want to secure one of these remote jobs, having a prior background in the same or related field is a must. This comes through self-study (there are plenty of inexpensive online courses), practice, and even freelance work. The next thing you'd need to consider is how well you are proficient with AI, specific to your role and level. Do you understand how to leverage Gen AI for your industry? At senior management level, do you understand how to deploy and manage AI agents as we enter the new future of work? Anyone who desires to succeed in a job, especially when working remotely in the 21st century, has to be AI-savvy. Future-proofing your career means not only having a grasp of general AI tools, but also applied AI--how to use it to enhance your specific role and industry workflows. For example, if applying for the senior project manager remote job listed above, perhaps upskilling in AI for project management, using PMI's xAI certifications and courses, would be useful. Aside from the technical specifications, power skills and human-centric skills (previously referred to as soft skills) are extremely important. You need to clearly refer to them and evidence them throughout your resume. Some of the most important power skills, according to research from Coursera reports and the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs report, include analytical thinking, problem-solving, creative thinking, communication, adaptability, and leadership skills. Applied AI skills will help you gain an edge in job applications Are you ready to step into a fully remote $100,000+ job? Use the list above and incorporate these tips into your job search strategy. Good things come to those who prepare.
