‘Suriya 47': Suriya in talks with ‘Aavesham' director Jithu Madhavan for his next: reports
It seems like Tamil superstar Suriya is adding more projects to his already packed schedule. The actor is currently working on his films with RJ Balaji and Venky Atluri. Moreover, the actor also has Vaadivaasal with ace filmmaker Vetri Maaran in the line-up.
Now, the latest is that the actor is reportedly in talks with Malayalam director Jithu Madhavan, best known for helming films like Romancham and Aavesham, for an upcoming film.
According to a report by Cinema Express, the director has confirmed that he's in negotiations with the star. Other details remain unknown at the moment.
This comes just days after Suriya began shooting for his upcoming movie with director Venky Atluri, tentatively called Suriya 46. The film features Mamitha Baiju as the female lead.
Interestingly, Suriya also has the long-awaited Vaadivaasal in the line-up. Kalaipuli S Thanu, the producer of the movie, had told The Hindu in Aprilthat the film will get rolling from June; however, there hasn't been any update on the film as of now.
Jithu Madhavan turned heads with his blockbuster debut feature, Romancham. The director followed it up with the widely acclaimed blockbuster Aavesham. Starring Fahadh Faasil, the film made over ₹150 crores at the box office. Notably, it was announced earlier this year that Jithu has penned Manjummel Boys director Chidambaram's upcoming film.

Thug Life petition abuse of law process: Kannada Sahitya Parishat
Bengaluru: Kannada Sahitya Parishat (KSP), the apex body pertaining to Kannada literature, Friday claimed the petition filed by Raajkamal Films International Chennai, producers of Kamal Haasan-starrer Thug Life, is an abuse of the process of law. The KSP, through its president Mahesh Joshi, has sought impleadment, opposing Raajkamal Films International's petition. Appearing for KSP, senior advocate S Basavaraj slammed Kamal's controversial remark that Kannada language originated from Tamil. Basavaraj said he has high regard for Kamal as an actor and even gave the example of his silent movie, Pushpaka Vimaana, which won accolades. According to Basavaraj, the actor set his own house on fire by his own conduct and now he is pleading before the high court with the request, "Please douse the flames." One cannot be an arsonist and a fire-fighter at the same time, he added. Justice M Nagaprasanna adjourned the case hearing while granting time to Raajkamal Films International to file their objections. The undertaking given by the petitioners that they will not release the film in Karnataka until the matter is resolved after holding dialogue with Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce will continue, the judge said, while orally repeating the suggestion made by the court earlier that "discretion is the best part of valour".
