Poet jailed over verbal abuse
The verdict came after the Criminal Court of Appeal overturned a previous acquittal and imposed the custodial sentence. The court also issued a restraining order, prohibiting the poet from contacting the claimant in any form.

Lawyer Al Rumaihi, representing the singer, stated that his client had endured repeated verbal abuse and took legal action to safeguard her dignity and reputation.
'The court reversed the earlier ruling and sentenced the defendant to six months in prison,' he said. 'It also barred her from approaching or communicating with my client.'
While full details of the case were not disclosed, it stemmed from a series of alleged insults and offensive actions.
Al Rumaihi emphasised that the ruling reinforces the principle that no one is above the law. 'Fame does not grant immunity from accountability,' he said.

Hotel to repay BD4,140 after failing to deliver paid services
TDT | Manama After paying BD25,000 for paperwork that never arrived, two clients have won just BD4,140 from one of Bahrain's best-known hotels in a ruling by the High Court of Appeal. The hotel had agreed to arrange guarantor permits and temporary residency documentation. While the full fee was paid upfront, the services were not fully delivered. Represented by lawyer Essam Al Tayyib, the clients took legal action to recover the value of what was left undone. A lower court threw out their claim but the Appeal Court reversed that decision after Al Tayyib submitted a letter signed by the hotel's own representative admitting the debt and proposing a partial settlement. Judges treated this as an implied acknowledgement of both the contract and the amount owed. Al Tayyib argued the initial ruling failed to take key evidence into account. He referred to the letter dated 11 August 2024 which the hotel had never denied. Under Bahraini law, silence on such a document adds weight to its content.

Bahrain: Three Arrested In Drug Parcel Bust Involving 9.5kg Of Suspected Liquid Narcotics
The Public Prosecution has announced the arrest of three individuals in connection with a suspicious postal package containing approximately 9.5 kilograms of a liquid substance believed to be narcotic. According to the Head of the Drug Crimes Prosecution, the package was intercepted by Bahrain's Anti-Narcotics Directorate. Inside, officers found several containers filled with the suspected liquid drug. The investigation led to the arrest of two Asian nationals who arrived to collect the package. Upon searching the residence of one of the suspects, authorities found medical pills, liquid-soaked papers suspected to be drug-laced, as well as tools and materials commonly used in drug consumption and distribution. A third suspect, a Bahraini national, was later arrested while attempting to receive the same package from one of the original suspects. He reportedly resisted arrest, but was subdued. Searches of his home and vehicle revealed more suspected drugs and related paraphernalia. The Public Prosecution quickly launched an investigation, questioning all three suspects and ordering their detention for seven days pending further inquiries. Charges filed include drug trafficking, possession, and intent to distribute and consume illegal substances. The seized items have been sent for forensic testing, and authorities are awaiting final police reports and witness statements as the case progresses.
