Steelers rookie Will Howard on Week 1 of OTAs: 'First day was work in progress'
Will Howard hit a wall on Day 1 of Steelers OTAs — but he's not shying away from the challenge, as he's ready to learn and move forward.
Howard's first week of Steelers OTAs is officially in the books, and he recently explained to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette what the experience was like overall:
"First day was a work in progress. I didn't feel great about my first day — just coming off the field, but it was a good learning experience," Howard told reporters at OTAs on Thursday. "I wasn't expecting to be perfect on my first day. I'm not going to be perfect. That's the thing — you've got to learn. Especially me, being young, you've got to be able to roll with the punches and know you're going to make some mistakes — especially being a rookie."
The Steelers rookie further broke down his performance, stating that Day 1 was more about getting his feet under him, while Days 2 and 3 were better practices.

Browns DE Myles Garrett tops PFF edge rusher list
Cleveland Browns superstar Myles Garrett tops another preseason list. Pro Football Focus announced their top ten edge defenders heading into the 2025 NFL season. Garrett was number one, followed by the Dallas Cowboys' Micah Parsons, then arch rival, T.J. Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Garrett has been the undisputed best defensive player in the NFL since Aaron Donald retired, much to the chagrin of his contemporaries. Garrett had a very eventful offseason. The superstar spent the week leading up to the Super Bowl demanding a trade on media row. Garrett wanted the Browns to commit to winning as he entered the back half of his career. The Browns didn't commit to winning, but placated him with compliments, calling Garrett a 'Cleveland to Canton player' and giving him a new four-year extension that averages $40 million per year. The contract made him the highest-paid non-quarterback for a couple of weeks. Garrett is worth his weight in gold, and he'll have a chance to add some more hardware to his collection this season. The Browns committed themselves to Garrett with the contract and the draft. New defensive tackle Mason Graham is a great interior pass rusher. He's the ideal partner for Garrett. Graham can push the front of the pocket and stop quarterbacks from stepping up. Garrett will be able to tee off on quarterbacks. Garrett is trying his hardest to etch his name into the record books. Advertisement He has a good shot at getting over 20 sacks with Graham by his side. Garrett has a great opportunity this season to chase quarterbacks and the records of all-time greats. Texas A&M HC Michael Earley has made his first staff change of the 2025 offseason
Texas A&M HC Michael Earley has made his first staff change of the 2025 offseason With the news that Texas A&M baseball coach Michael Earley will return for the 2026 season after Athletic Director Trev Alberts made his final decision on Friday, it was assumed that staff changes were afoot, knowing that last season's issues were much more than poor play by the roster. However, while some thought hitting coach Caleb Longley would be the first to go, Earley has made a somewhat surprising change to start the new regime. On Saturday, it was revealed that infield coach Will Fox will not be retained. Fox has been with the program for the past six seasons and is considered one of the up-and-coming coaches with a bright future. According to D1Baseball's Kendall Rogers, Fox could join McNeese as the program's newest assistant. Before serving as an assistant coach, Fox spent the previous three seasons as the director of video and analytics and his first two years in College Station as director of player personnel and video coordinator. Texas A&M's infield defense was average at best last season, leading to several game-changing errors in key games down the stretch. While this is minor compared to the team's consistency issues at the plate, this is likely just the first change Earley will make on the staff heading into the summer.
