Jeff Cobb made a thunderous WWE debut at Backlash 2025, shaking up the United States Championship picture with a surprise appearance that helped Jacob Fatu retain his title. Entering the fray during a chaotic Fatal Four-Way match against LA Knight, Damian Priest, and Drew McIntyre, Cobb's shocking interference stunned the crowd and signalled the arrival of a powerful new force on SmackDown.

Cobb's debut was spoiled last week as rumours about the possibility of his appearance surfaced. The rumours also stated that he could potentially join the SmackDown brand upon his debut. While the details of his debut are still emerging, he is undoubtedly a part of the WWE roster. Under Solo Sikoa's ruthless leadership, his arrival marks the latest muscle added to The Bloodline's growing empire, as reported by Forbes.
After his surprise departure from New Japan Pro-Wrestling in late April, where he claimed to be retiring, Cobb's WWE debut was already in motion behind the scenes. Despite his retirement claims, reports had circulated for weeks suggesting Cobb was WWE-bound, and plans were quietly set for him to join Friday Night SmackDown. His shocking appearance at Backlash confirmed the rumours, signalling the start of a new chapter for the powerhouse, as reported by Cultaholic.

In the chaotic climax of the Fatal Four-Way, Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest eliminated each other in a brutal brawl that ended with Priest delivering South of Heaven through a stack of tables. With the field narrowed to LA Knight and Jacob Fatu, it looked like Knight had the upper hand—until Solo Sikoa intervened, pulling Fatu to safety, as reported by Cultaholic.
Just when Knight turned his attention to Sikoa, he was met with a devastating punch from Cobb, who sealed Fatu's victory as he unleashed a vicious attack. However, Fatu looked perplexed upon the debuting wrestler at Backlash. It was hinted that Cobb was recruited by Sikoa while Fatu did not know of this. He was also spotted not celebrating with Sikoa and Cobb after the match.

Jey Uso vows comeback after losing WWE World Heavyweight Championship
In a heartfelt moment that captured the emotion and unpredictability of WWE, delivered an emotional speech after losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther on the June 9 episode of WWE RAW. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The main event clash saw 'Main Event' Jey Uso pass out in the Ring General's sleeper hold, bringing his brief title reign to a close in front of a packed crowd at the PHX Arena in Phoenix, Arizona. Jey Uso reflects on Gunther defeat in touching in-ring moment After regaining consciousness post-match, Uso returned to the ring - not to demand a rematch, but to reflect on what the loss meant. Standing alongside his young son, he took the mic and addressed the WWE Universe with a raw, emotional promo. 'I'm sorry to my son. I'm sorry to everybody here. I fought my a** off,' Uso said, visibly shaken. Despite the outcome, he showed nothing but respect for Gunther, calling him 'that dude' and 'one of the best pros' he's ever faced. Uso's words drew loud cheers from the Phoenix crowd, many of whom stayed well after the cameras stopped rolling just to hear what he had to say. WWE's Chief Content Officer Triple H also reacted to the title change, praising both competitors: 'Respect to Main Event (truly) Jey and congratulations to our NEW World Heavyweight Champion Gunther,' he wrote on X. Fans on social media echoed that sentiment. 'The crowd stayed just to hear him speak - that's star power,' one fan posted, while another called his promo 'a moment,' not just a speech. In a surprising turn, Uso used his promo not only to express disappointment and resilience but also to talk directly to the young fans. 'Say your prayers. Watch your manners. Pick up after yourself,' he said, sharing life advice inspired by being a father himself. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Though he ended the night without the title, Uso made it clear this is far from the end: 'I'm going to run it back.' While the WWE Universe processes the title change, one thing remains certain - Jey Uso's star continues to rise. Emotional, respectful, and determined, he may have lost the belt, but he gained even more support from fans worldwide. And if his promise to 'run it back' holds true, Gunther might not have seen the last of Jey Uso just yet. Also Read:

Exclusive: After R-Truth, is Braun Strowman going to return to WWE on public demand? Expert has this to say
Braun Strowman WWE return: R-Truth, on June 1, announced that the WWE had decided against renewing his contract and looked back on his time with the company. This created a great deal of buzz on social media as several angry netizens took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express displeasure with the Stamford-based promotion for letting go of the popular veteran. Following this backlash, WWE gave him a new deal. He will now stay with the promotion and perform under his real name Ron Killings Vince Russo feels, unlike R-Truth, Braun Strowman won't return to WWE on public demand The R-Truth situation has sparked speculation of Braun Strowman returning to the WWE. 'The Monster Among Men, who too enjoyed the loyalty of the WWE Universe, was released from the company on May 3 alongside several other performers. In an exclusive interaction with India times, veteran writer Vince Russo addressed the possibility. The moment that made the crowd stand still…RON. KILLINGS.#WWERAW Braun Strowman, who was let go by the WWE last month, had endeared himself to the audience with his feuds against Bronson Reed and Jacob Fatu. This made his departure a hard pill to swallow for the WWE universe. Many of his ardent fans even hoped that R-Truth being rehired on public demand would open the door for 'The Monster Among Men' to get a third run with the company. However, writer Vince Russo feels this won't happen as Strowman was previously released in 2021 as well. He also stated that the powerhouse did not enjoy the type of fan following that Ron Killings does. 'That ship has already sailed. And their fan base didn't have the same sentiment towards Strowman that they had towards Truth. Plus, it wasn't the first time they released Braun. No---Strowman IS NOT coming back,' he told the website. Vince Russo has been an inseparable part of the professional wrestling landscape since the 90s. He is best known for his association with the WWE and the now defunct World Championship Wrestling (WCW) R-Truth made an instant impact on returning to WWE Coming back to Truth, he returned to WWE programming at Money in the Bank 2025 and nailed John Cena with a spear and the Undisputed Championship to teach him a lesson for humiliating him at Saturday Night's Main Event. This cost 'The Champ' and Logan Paul their match against Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes. On June 9, he cut a promo in which he thanked fans for helping him regain his job and also vowed to be 'himself' during his new run.
