Bad Bunny is staging a late-night talk show takeover
On Tuesday night, the Grammy-winning Puerto Rican singer will make two back-to-back appearances on late-night television shows: 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert' on CBS and 'Late Night With Seth Meyers' on NBC.
The 31-year-old artist is in the midst of his historic No Me Quiero Ir De Aquí residency at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan. The 30-night concert series is expected to generate $200 million to the local economy, according to the island's promotional agency, Discover Puerto Rico.
Bad Bunny, who moonlights as an actor, is also promoting the long-awaited 'Happy Gilmore 2,' a sequel to the 1996 Adam Sandler comedy, which will premiere July 25 on Netflix. He will play a golf caddy to Happy Gilmore (played by Sandler), an aggro-ex-hockey player turned golf phenom. Both Sandler and Bad Bunny are expected to appear on 'Late Night With Seth Meyers.'
It's an unusual move by the two competing networks to book the same guest on a single night, but as evening newscasts clash with fast-paced content on social media sites like YouTube or TikTok, perhaps the rules can be relaxed for a superstar.
Camaraderie across the TV aisle has grown in recent days, with multiple late-night hosts decrying the cancellation of Colbert's program for what CBS has cited as financial reasons. News of this cancellation came days after Colbert criticized CBS' parent company, Paramount, over the $16-million settlement of President Trump's lawsuit stemming from a '60 Minutes' interview with Kamala Harris.
'And now for the next 10 months, the gloves are off,' said Colbert on Sunday night. His decade-long show will end May 2026.
Earlier this year, Bad Bunny co-hosted 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' to promote his hit album, 'Debí Tirar Más Fotos,' which remains on the Billboard 200 chart since its January debut. During the program, the two disguised themselves while busking in a New York Subway station, first performing a cover of the Backstreet Boys' 'I Want It That Way,' then Bad Bunny's single 'Nuevayol.'

MC Hammer is once again facing financial trouble after allegedly failing to pay off a Land Rover he bought in 2023. JPMorgan Chase Bank is suing the Oakland-born rapper, claiming he still owes $76,732.79 on a $114,376.90 loan he took out to purchase the vehicle. According to the complaint, filed on July 31 in San Joaquin County Superior Court, Hammer agreed to 60 monthly payments of $2,433.97 beginning in May 2023. But the 'Too Legit to Quit' hitmaker, whose real name is Stanley Kirk Burrell, stopped making regular installments in May 2024. He reportedly last paid the bill on July 14. Though the bank said it has 'demanded possession' of the vehicle, the complaint claims the 'defendants have not surrendered' the car. MC Hammer, as he is legally referred to in the court documents, and U Can't Touch This LLC are listed as defendants. Hammer, who rose to fame in the late 1980s for his catchy hip-hop anthems and signature parachute pants, currently lives in Tracy. A Google Street View image of his property shows six vehicles in the driveway, including a light green Land Rover Defender. This isn't the first time that the 'U Can't Touch This' musician has experienced serious financial troubles. Hammer filed for bankruptcy in 1996, less than a decade after reaching the peak of his career, because his luxurious lifestyle sank him into roughly $13 million of debt. He was eventually forced to sell his Fremont mansion to relocate to a three-bedroom home in Tracy. The Grammy-winning artist has since made strides to reconstruct his public image and has become active in Christian ministry. He returned to his musical roots with a tour in 2019, his first major North American outing since 1991.

'I was asked to do it,' Kitsch told The Wrap on August 4 at the premiere of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf. 'Yeah, I'm not going back. No.' That statement only confirmed the comments he made earlier this year during a SiriusXM interview, where he acknowledged he'd been approached about the project but said he didn't plan to reprise the role full time. He's not the only alumni in limbo. Connie Britton, who played Tami Taylor on the series, told Parade in March that the new show is "barely on" her radar. Still, for fans holding out hope to see Riggins down a cold one in Dillon, all may not be lost. 'I'll do a cameo,' Kitsch said in a separate interview with Access. 'I would do one. It's got to be out of control, though.'
