Giraffe arrives at safari park in bid to boost breeding programme

The 16ft giraffe travelled from Fota Wildlife Park in County Cork, Ireland, in a special transporter, with a three-hour ferry crossing from Dublin to Holyhead, followed by a 337-mile road trip north.
Noinin will be introduced to Sifa, a Rothschild's giraffe who arrived at Blair Drummond in 2023 as part of the European Endangered Species Programme, in a bid to create genetic diversity in the breeding programme.

The species has seen a dramatic population decline of 30% since the 1980s, with less than 2,000 remaining in the wild, according to zoologists.
Noinin will be integrated into the giraffe herd as part of a carefully managed breeding programme aimed at supporting the survival of the species, and will live in a mixed species habitat.
The pair are hoped to contribute to preserving genetic diversity and ensuring the long-term survival of Rothschild's giraffes.
Kristine Fennessy Alexander, animal collection manager at Blair Drummond, said: 'We're thrilled to welcome Noinin to the park.
'Rothschild's giraffes are facing significant challenges in the wild, and breeding programmes like this one are essential in helping secure the future of the species.
'Noinin has already begun exploring her new surroundings, and we are excited for her and Sifa to hopefully form a successful breeding pair.'

Stripper 'jiggled bride-to-be's breasts' & 'forced her legs open'

Stuart Kennedy, 32, appeared in court after a bride-to-be claimed he jiggled her breasts and forced her legs open during her hen party, despite allegedly telling him 'no thank you' A stripper has been accused of "jiggling a bride-to-be's breasts" during a performance at her hen party. ‌ The 32-year-old lawyer said she became hysterical and ran off to vomit during the performance, despite repeatedly telling Stuart Kennedy - dressed as a firefighter - "no thank you". The bride-to-be said she was "shocked" and "froze" when the stripper burst into the party at the luxury Scottish hotel Crieff Hydro, around 40 miles west of Dundee. The woman told a trial at Perth Sheriff Court that she was embarrassed and felt forced to participate in the show after it was secretly arranged by one of her sisters. ‌ ‌ The woman, from the highlands, claimed she repeatedly said "no thank you" to Kennedy, but said he carried on despite her clearly being uncomfortable, according to the Daily Record. She said: "The door burst open and slammed hard against the opposite wall. A man dressed in a firefighter's uniform came in. "I began to realise he was there as some form of entertainment. I started crying and panicking. Eventually I understood he was there for me as he asked who the bride was. I decided I had to grin and bear it and go through it. It's not my preference, that kind of activity. I didn't think I was in danger, just that it would be unpleasant and not to my taste. Me storming off felt like it would be an over-reaction." The bride-to-be said 15 people had gone to the hotel, on March 22, 2024, for a prosecco and pizza party ahead of her wedding. The bride claimed she told the stripper multiple times that she did not want to patriciate. She said: "I wasn't fully appreciating what he was doing. I was just in shock. His crotch was within half a foot of my face. I was trying to communicate that I was not a willing participant. I was just cringing away from him constantly. He forced his hands between my thighs to open my legs. I resisted it but I was also frightened by now. His first move was to make me simulate giving him oral sex. "I started to comply with him because I didn't know what he was going to do next. He still had his trousers on. He had sewn a fake erection into the crotch. It felt like a bean bag. He was fiddling with the button on my shirt at one point. At my cleavage. There was more grinding against my thigh. I was trying to keep my legs together." The bride-to-be said she ran to the toilet to vomit after one of his alleged actions. She added: "He was behind me and went straight to grab both my breasts and jiggled them about. He saw some of the girls gasp. By now they were all panicking. When he was not near me I bolted towards the door. I made it to the bathroom. I was physically sick. I vomited in the toilet. I was crying hysterically and screaming and grabbing my hair." ‌ Her younger sister told police in a statement: "He put his legs over her and did a Magic Mike sort of thing. He got his waist close to her face. He was dry humping her while she was sat down. She was visibly upset and left. I think the way he stormed in gave us a fright and this triggered her. I enjoyed myself and I don't remember anything you wouldn't expect from a stripper at a hen party." Kennedy denies sexually assaulting the woman in Crieff Hydro and denies repeatedly handling the woman's thighs and private parts, attempting to kiss her, and handling her breasts and shaking them. The stripper, from Aberdeen, further denies intentionally causing the same woman to participate in sexual activity by sitting on her, seizing her by the head and restraining her. The charge alleges he induced her to drink from a penis-shaped straw, repeatedly thrust his hips towards her body, took hold of her arm and forced her to handle a fake penis, and seized her arms and placed them against his chest. The hen's middle sister, who paid around £400 to Aberdeen-based AlphaMale Strippers & Butlers to hire Kennedy, said she immediately realised it was a mistake. She told the trial: "I was nervous. I wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not." Asked if she had "buyer's regret" about booking a stripper, she said: "One hundred per cent." The law student, 28, said: "He stood her up at one point and reached around and grabbed her boobs aggressively. I remember it took my breath away a wee bit, because I just didn't think that was right. It was not long after that she left, she ran out the room and locked herself in the bathroom."

'From what I've researched - '1' means the product was made specifically for TK Maxx - so is unlikely to be a 'wow bargain'. ''7' is a 'packaway' item - usually from a previous season. 'It's probably discounted.' However, she said you should really look out for a '2' as that is the 'thriftiest number. She continued: 'There's a good chance it's about to be discounted, usually within days. 'In theory, the number you see written is the price it will become. Inside Pitbull mania as Mr Worldwide convinces 20,000 fans to wear bald caps and suits

"He's been baptised by the girlies as the latest daddy of the internet, our therapist, and world leader": Pitbull fans reveal why they enjoy dressing just like the beloved rapper One of the best parts about living in London is deciphering who is playing in the O2 based on what women are wearing on the Tube. Western boots and sequins for Taylor Swift, pink cowboy hats for Chappell Roan. But picture this: a sea of young women in bald caps, svelte black suits and aviators, as far as the eye can see. ‌ In June 2025, Pitbull lived up to his stage name of Mr Worldwide, and started a global movement amongst his fans, in which women attending his concerts (and it does appear to be largely women) have elected to dress exactly as the singer. Distinctive elements of his appearance include the bald head, black suit and facial hair. ‌ In fact, according to TikTok's recent The Big Shop Report, Pitbull's 2025 Party After Dark tour saw a 420% spike in costume sales, which includes the bald caps and fake soul patches, while #PitbullConcert views increased by over 6000% between May 25 and June 25. ‌ From Paris to Dublin, TikTok videos have gone viral of large groups of women in this exact uniform making their way from bus stops and train stations. They have accumulated millions upon millions of views, even inspiring their own 'Pitbull concert FOMO'. But what is it actually like to attend one of these concerts? And why has the 44-year-old Miami rapper inspired such a loyal, young, female fanbase keen to cosplay as him? I spoke to two Pitbull fans behind some of this year's most viral TikTok bald-cap videos. Nicole, who posted her viral video under @whatnicolebakes, attended Pitbull's concert in the O2 London with a close friend in June. She says they spent under £100 each on the costumes and tickets. 'Everyone was dressed as Pitbull in suits, bald caps and drawn on facial hair,' she tells The Mirror. 'If you weren't dressed like that, you stuck out." But what inspired Nicole to become one of the bald-capped masses? She claims she's been a fan of the Worldwide star since 'the very beginning'. Nicole reveals: 'I grew up listening to his music and the love really started from his earlier popular releases like Hotel Room Service, I Know You Want Me, and International Love, and it's continued ever since.' ‌ Where does the appeal come from? Nicole says: 'Pitbull's songs are timeless. They're catchy and get everyone dancing instantly, and you can't not sing along to some of his greatest hits!' For more stories like this subscribe to our weekly newsletter, The Weekly Gulp, for a curated roundup of trending stories, poignant interviews, and viral lifestyle picks from The Mirror's Audience U35 team delivered straight to your inbox. ‌ Plus, it's not just about the music. Although she's never met him, Nicole believes he's 'genuinely a great, inspirational person.' She declares: 'He's been baptised by the girlies as the latest daddy of the internet, our therapist, and world leader.' It might sound somewhat implausible to the casual Pitbull listener. After all, doesn't he mainly sing about drinking, hooking up in hotel rooms and 'dale'? But the term 'Pitbull therapy' has been running around online circles for a while now, with fans sharing videos of his feel-good sayings. ‌ Nicole explains: 'His Pitbull-isms and lyrics are iconic and have been ingrained into the brains and hearts of people everywhere. My personal favourite is 'This for everybody going through tough times. Believe me, been there, done that. But every day above ground is a great day, remember that.'' Saff (@saffronleijs) attended Pitbull's O2 concert last November and has a similar story. She says her bald cap, sunglasses and tie only came to about £10. As for Pitbull's music, she says she's been listening to it for years and has loved it since she was '18 and clubbing'. ‌ She describes the night: 'The whole experience getting to the concert dressed as Pitbull was so funny and then getting closer to the O2 seeing more and more Pitbulls was hilarious. The whole energy of the concert was incredible and still the best concert I've ever been to!' Of course, there is something nostalgic about Pitbull's music. He encapsulates a specific kind of 2010s party essence: a never-ending fiesta of good vibes, free-flowing drink and unselfconscious fun . Who else would inspire so many women to ditch the opportunity to get dressed up for a night out and instead imitate the artist himself? But there remains the big question: what does Pitbull himself make of his thousands of doppelgangers? He recently told the BBC that it makes him 'very, very happy'. He added: 'Every time I'm at a show, I let them know that when you put on a bald cap, I hope you're ready to have the time of your lives – it feels deeper than just music.'
