Director Indra Kumar's 1997 film Ishq became a major success at the box office after its release. Starring actors Aamir Khan, Juhi Chawla, Kajol and Ajay Devgn, the film gained immense praise for its humor and soundtrack. However, did you know the movie took 300 days to be made?
In a recent interview with The Mashable, Kajol recalled how she used to be alone on the film set as Aamir and Juhi had a group of their own. This also became one of the reasons, how she became close to Ajay Devgn. 'Aamir was very friendly with the director and so was Juhi so these three were a close knit group and then there was Ajay and me. And eventually, it was just me. There were certain days on set when I was not willing to talk to anybody', told Kajol.
Explaining her reason behind isolating herself on set, Kajol shared, 'We spent 300 days together. That film took 300 days to be made. We have no idea what we did for so many days. We used to spend 8-10 hours on set every day. I can't be talking to all of them at all times. I can try to be social but I can't constantly be chatting.' The actress said even an extrovert needs that time to recharge.

Ishq also starred actors Dalip Tahil, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Johnny Lever, and Mohan Joshi in important roles. Anu Malik composed the film's music.
Previously, on the film's 26th anniversary, Kajol had shared a throwback picture with a quirky note. However, it was Ajay Devgn's comment that stole the limelight where he wrote, 'Wasn't this the film where I proposed to you with your own ring?'
Kajol and Ajay Devgn arguably met on the sets of Hulchul (1995). Their love blossomed on the sets of Ishq. Two years later, in 1999, they decided to tie the knot. They have been married for 26 years and are parents to a daughter Nysa and son Yug.

Cine workers body writes to PM Modi, demands ban on Diljit Dosanjh's concerts, suspension of his social media accounts

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has formally written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, raising strong objections to actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his upcoming film Sardar Ji 3. The protest comes in the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 Indian citizens. On Wednesday, AICWA took to its X (formerly Twitter) account and posted the letter, in which it condemned what it described as Diljit's 'insensitive' move to collaborate with Hania, "who has previously made anti-India statements following Operation Sindoor.' AICWA has called for the immediate suspension of Diljit's social media accounts in India and the removal of all his songs and films from platforms such as YouTube, Spotify, JioSaavn, and various OTT services. Additionally, the association is demanding a permanent ban on his live performances and public appearances across the country. They have also urged the government to ensure he is not associated with any state-sponsored programs or campaigns. Furthermore, AICWA has sought a full investigation into the funding of Sardar Ji 3 and a nationwide ban on its release. They have also appealed to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to deny certification to all of Diljit's future projects, effectively calling for his complete boycott from Indian cinema. FWICE 'disappointed' about Diljit casting in Border 2 Earlier today, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) expressed its disappointment and concern about the casting of Diljit in the upcoming film Border 2. Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 stars Varun Dhawan, Sunny Deol, Diljit, and Ahan Shetty. FWICE addressed a formal letter to Bhushan Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of T-Series, as well as producers JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta of JP Films, and director Anurag Singh. The letter stated, "The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), representing the core workforce of the Indian film and television industry, is deeply disappointed and concerned by the casting of actor-singer Mr Diljit Dosanjh in your upcoming film Border 2 produced under the banner of JP Films in collaboration with T-Series and directed by Mr Anurag Singh." Sardaar Ji 3 will release in overseas, not in India Diljit confirmed that his upcoming horror-comedy Sardaar Ji 3 will not release in India and will be screened exclusively overseas. Sharing the film's trailer on Instagram on Monday, the actor-singer announced the international release date, writing in the caption: 'Sardaar Ji 3 releasing 27th June OVERSEAS only. Film body questions Diljit Dosanjh's casting in Border 2, writes open letter to makers

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has issued a strongly worded letter to the makers of Border 2, expressing 'deep disappointment' over the casting of actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh in the upcoming war drama, news agency ANI reported. The move comes amid heightened scrutiny over cross-border artistic collaborations and their implications for the Indian entertainment industry's image and cohesion. The upcoming sequel to JP Dutta's 1997 classic Border is being directed by Anurag Singh and features an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. It is being jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and JP Films, and is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 23, 2026. The row stems from Dosanjh's upcoming Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3, which features Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. The film is set to release overseas on June 27, but has not been made available on Indian streaming platforms or YouTube, likely due to ongoing tensions and regulatory sensitivities. FWICE had earlier called for a boycott of all artists involved with Pakistani talent in the wake of recent cross-border hostilities, especially following the Pahalgam terror attack in April and India's Operation Sindoor in May. In its letter, FWICE said that casting Dosanjh in a patriotic film like Border 2 undermines the sentiments of the Indian entertainment workforce and audience. The body called it a 'blatant violation' of its directive and urged producers to reconsider their decision 'in solidarity with national sentiment.' 'By choosing to collaborate with an artist who has so brazenly ignored the ongoing tensions and national sentiment, your production has directly undermined the stand taken by the Indian film industry,' the letter said. FWICE's appeal isn't limited to producers alone. The body has also written to the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Home Affairs, External Affairs, and the Information & Broadcasting, seeking intervention and punitive action against Dosanjh and the production team of Sardaar Ji 3. The film body has also approached the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), requesting that certification be withheld for Sardaar Ji 3, which is being released outside India to circumvent regulatory backlash. The controversy underscores the growing intersection between geopolitics and entertainment in India, especially when commercial collaborations cross sensitive national boundaries. As industry players weigh reputational risks against artistic and financial freedom, this case could set a precedent for future decisions around cross-border casting and distribution.
