The major initiatives taken by the
Coffee Board
of India to push the exports include online issuance with digital signature of registration-cum-membership certificate (RCMC), export permit, certificate of origin, regular interaction with the exporters to discuss bottlenecks and addressing those issues, and providing regular global market information and market intelligence.
The other export promotion steps included transit/freight assistance to maximise export earnings by enhancing the market share of value-added coffee.

The government provides Rs 3 per kg for export of value-added products; Rs 2 for shipments of high value green coffees to far-off high value markets such as the US, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, and Finland, Norway, and Denmark.
To support the business community for value addition, the board supports individuals, self-help groups, and growers. It provides 40 per cent cost of machinery with a ceiling of Rs 15 lakh for installation of roasting, grinding and packaging machinery.
"These measures are helping us to reach newer markets,"
Vidi's Coffee
Founder Divya Shree G S said.
Further, according to Coffee Board CEO and Secretary M Kurma Rao, in India coffee is cultivated under a diverse canopy of native and mixed shade trees and this system supports biodiversity, ensures soil and water conservation, enhances carbon sequestration and sustains livelihoods for small and marginal farmers by offering opportunities for crop diversification.
Veteran Coffee grower from Coorg Bose Mandana said India is one of the few countries which is promoting shade grown coffee.
"This helps in protecting forests. It is a sustainable way to grow coffee and it will help India deal with EU's deforestation regulation," Mandana said.
Talking about the measures taken by the Board to help entrepreneurs, South India Coffee Company (SICC) founder husband and wife duo Akshay Dashrath and Komal Sable said that they are partnering with Indian coffee producers and roasters to put Indian coffee on the world map.
"Huge potential is there to increase exports of specialty coffee from India," Komal said.
SICC operates in the US, the UK, and India, with end-to-end logistics and warehousing capabilities for the sector.
The main coffee producing states are Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. India is the seventh largest producer of the world with 3.5 per cent share and fifth largest exporter with 5 per cent share. India produces about 3.6 lakh tonnes of coffee per year.
About two million people are employed in the sector directly and indirectly.

"His wife going to rob half of that": Fans can't stop talking about Travis Hunter's wife as the two-way college star breaks records with massive $46.6M rookie deal
Travis Hunter lands $46.6M deal with Jaguars (Getty Images) Travis Hunter has secured a groundbreaking deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The two-way phenom officially inked a four-year, $46.65 million contract that is already turning heads—not just for the numbers, but for the way it's structured. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Hunter became the first non-quarterback not selected first overall to receive his entire $30.57 million signing bonus upfront. That's not just rare—it's historic. Travis Hunter gets historic rookie deal from Jaguars—$46.6M proves he's no ordinary NFL prospect Drafted second overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, Hunter wasn't just any top prospect. The Jaguars traded up with the Cleveland Browns, surrendering four picks—including a 2026 first-rounder—to snag the former Colorado standout. The heavy investment reflects how much the franchise believes in Hunter's ability to make an immediate impact on both sides of the ball. And it's easy to see why. Hunter is coming off one of the most dominant seasons in recent college football memory. He caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns, while also recording 35 tackles, 11 pass breakups, four interceptions, and allowing just one touchdown on defense. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch CFD với công nghệ và tốc độ tốt hơn IC Markets Đăng ký Undo His efforts earned him the Heisman Trophy, the Biletnikoff Award, and the Bednarik Award—all in one season. The Jaguars plan to use Hunter exactly how he was used in college: as a true two-way weapon. He's expected to line up as a slot receiver on offense while contributing as a cornerback in certain defensive packages. Jacksonville is betting big that this rare versatility will help turn around a struggling franchise. Financially, the deal is set up to escalate as he develops. Hunter will earn $840,000 in base salary during his rookie season. That will rise to $2.96 million in Year 2, $5.08 million in Year 3, and $7.20 million in Year 4. Like all first-rounders, his deal includes a fifth-year team option. Off the field, Hunter's life is also experiencing monumental changes. On May 24, he married longtime girlfriend Leanna Lenee in a lavish ceremony in Tennessee. The couple has been together since high school, and during their wedding, Hunter gifted her a six-figure Mercedes-Benz. The gesture caught public attention, but not all of it was supportive. Some online voices reacted with cynicism, with one comment stating, "His wife going to rob half of that. " Another added, "Watch his wife file for divorce now." A third commented, "That woman is going to clean the kid out." Despite the noise, Hunter appears laser-focused on his future—both on and off the field. With his contract locked in and a franchise counting on his game-changing skill set, Travis Hunter is ready to rewrite the narrative in Jacksonville—and possibly redefine what's possible for two-way players in the modern NFL. Govt to compensate highway operators, investors for losses due to annual pass scheme
NEW DELHI: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will come up with a compensation framework for private highway operators and investors, including overseas pension funds, who have betted on the highway sector for the losses they incur after rollout of 'annual pass' for private vehicles on national highways and expressways from Aug 15. This is particularly important considering that the highway sector has recorded the best outcomes in govt's monetisation programme and NHAI will receive greater focus for the purpose in the next five years. Sources in the road transport ministry said a committee will work out the framework over the next one month after holding deliberations with the stakeholders. Players across road infrastructure value chain, including companies such as Cube Mobility and IRB Infrastructure and the Adani group, sovereign fund and asset managers like NIIF, and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board have invested heavily in the sector. There are also several NH stretches where private highway builders are collecting toll as per ongoing contracts. 'There are some apprehensions among private investors who have taken on completed projects under the monetisation programme about their losses since they have paid upfront, based on projection of traffic and toll revenue. But since we have to keep in mind the interests of all stakeholders, especially users, we are sticking to the Aug 15 timeline,' a top NHAI official said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo NHAI has monetised its projects through three models — Toll Operate Transfer (TOT), infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs) and securitisation. The official added that work on the annual pass scheme had started months back and all implications have been worked out, based on past toll collection data. Data show that NHAI has achieved 71% of the monetisation target in the highway sector, raising Rs 1.2 lakh crore out of the targeted Rs 1.6 lakh crore till FY2024-25.

Infosys' Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune centres top April on-site attendance numbers
Infosys Ltd's development centres in Bengaluru, Chennai and Pune were its top three offices in on-site attendance in April, according to an internal memo to employees. The Bengaluru-headquartered software service exporter shared the April in-office attendance data at a recent all-hands meeting with its India employees. In-person attendance at Infosys' Nagpur, Indore and Gurgaon offices was the lowest, according to the data seen by ET. The move is seen as Infosys' effort to get more people back to its campuses. Infosys' Bengaluru, Chennai and Pune centres registered in-office attendance of 57%, 52% and 50%, respectively. Nagpur, Indore and Gurgaon followed with 46%, 41% and 32%, in that order. Bengaluru-headquartered Infosys has around 323,500 employees, with the majority based in India. It has been following the return-to-office policy since November 20, 2023, requiring employees to work from office for at least 10 days in a month. Live Events The company has made it compulsory for employees at job level (JL) 5 and below to punch in at the office 10 days a month. If employees fail to do so, 'system intervention' gets triggered, which means the employees concerned will have to get their unofficial absence approved by their managers, else those days get marked as 'leave'. JL6 and above include managers, senior managers, delivery managers and senior delivery managers, but exclude vice presidents. Tata Consultancy Services ( TCS ), India's biggest IT company and Infosys' rival, had introduced a five-day work-from-office policy in October 2023, which was linked to employees' variable pay. Wipro , Infosys' cross-city rival, introduced a hybrid work policy that required employees to work from the office for at least three days a week. For more than a year now, many top software services exporters have tightened their work-from-home facilities in a bid to boost office attendance. This was done in the wake of not just the rise in cyberattacks and moonlighting, but also to encourage the benefits of working in a shared physical space. In April last year, K Krithivasan, chief executive of TCS, had highlighted that return to the workplace created 'shared experiences, nurturing greater learning, collaboration and camaraderie'. At its quarterly results conference, the management said that almost 65% of TCS' associates were then attending office for 3-5 days a week, within a quarter of the policy's implementation. TCS and Infosys did not respond to requests for comment. Other top-tier Indian IT firms, including HCLTech, Wipro, Tech Mahindra and LTIMindtree , also did not respond. Salil Parekh-led Infosys further broke down the data as per segments and job levels. In terms of verticals, engineering IoT (internet of things) topped with 71% across job levels, followed by engineering medical with 55%, IoT with 53%, and engineering automobile with 30%. Employees at JL6 across verticals recorded attendance between 62% and 73%. The next best performers were at JL5. In its latest annual report, Infosys said its hybrid work model, built around people and their comfort, offers the flexibility of working from home and office, at locations closest to their homes. 'As part of this strategy, we have set up offices in Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Noida, Hubballi, Indore, Navi Mumbai, Nagpur and Coimbatore in India over the last few years,' the report said.
