Man shot trying to break up fight between relatives in Oceanway
A man was shot Tuesday evening while he was trying to break up a fight between two relatives in Jacksonville's Oceanway community. The fight happened at about 6:30 p.m. in the 14000 block of Yellow Bluff Road.
Two of the victim's relatives were involved in an argument and one of them grabbed a gun, a Jacksonville police news release states.
'The victim attempted to diffuse the situation, and a struggle ensued,' the news release states. 'The victim was shot during the struggle.'
The victim was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his shoulder, police said.

Horses, donkeys, pigs, goats and more rescued from north Georgia home
A north Georgia couple is facing nearly two dozen charges after a welfare check on some horses that appeared malnourished. Walker County Animal Control says they were called to a home on Manor Lane near Rossville after complaints about some horses. Belinda Rodriguez, 56, was charged with 11 counts of cruelty to animals. Investigators say several animals at the home were emaciated and had not been given enough food to sustain a healthy body weight. Some of the animals were also missing fur and had open leg wounds and inflamed skin. Body found in a pond identified as Morehouse student who disappeared after crash
A body found in a Virginia pond has been identified as a Morehouse College student. Kyle Coleman disappeared on June 7. Police in Fairfax County, VA. found his car without him inside it and said they believe he had a medical emergency before a crash. Days later, police found a body in a pond near the site. On Wednesday, Coleman's family confirmed it was his body. Morehouse College released a statement mourning his loss. Our entire Morehouse family grieves this unimaginable loss,' officials wrote in a statement. Morehouse College said Coleman was active in several organizations. He served in the Morehouse Business Association, LightHouse, the Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) Certificate Program and the Consultants Club.
