Nine injured including children in Israeli drone strike on Mansouri

Nahar Net20-05-2025

An Israeli drone targeted on Tuesday morning a motorcycle in south Lebanon near a school in Mansouri in the Tyre district, injuring nine people, three of them critically.
The Health Ministry said nine people were injured in the strike on the al-Mansouri-Majdal Zoun road, including two children, adding that three of the injured were in critical condition.
Minister of Education Rima Karami condemned the strike and called for pressure on Israel to stop its attacks on civilians. The Israeli army meanwhile said it targeted and killed a Hezbollah member in Mansouri.
On Monday, one person was killed in the southern border town of Houla and three others were wounded by Israeli attacks on multiple locations across southern Lebanon. On Sunday, two people, including a Lebanese soldier, were wounded in an Israeli strike.
Israel has continued to launch strikes on Lebanon despite the November 27 truce that sought to halt more than a year of hostilities with Hezbollah including two months of full-blown war.
Under the terms of the ceasefire deal, the only armed bodies in southern Lebanon are meant to be U.N. peacekeepers and Lebanon's army, though Israel has retained its forces in five areas it has declared strategic.

Lebanese Army Warns of Freezing Cooperation with US-Led Ceasefire Committee

The Lebanese Army warned on Friday it may freeze cooperation with the committee monitoring the ceasefire between Lebanon and the Zionist entity, a day after the Israeli enemy launched a wide-scale aggression on Beirut's Dahiyeh and prevented a Lebanese Army patrol from inspecting the threatened sites. In a statement, the Lebanese Army condemned the Israeli daily aggression against Lebanon and its continued occupation of Lebanese territory. 'Immediately after the Israeli enemy announced its threats, it began coordinating with the Cessation of Hostilities Monitoring Committee to prevent an attack. Patrols also headed to a number of sites to inspect them, despite the enemy's rejection of the proposal,' the statement explained. — الجيش اللبناني (@LebarmyOfficial) June 6, 2025 'The Israeli enemy's persistent violation of the ceasefire deal and its refusal to cooperate with the Cessation of Hostilities Monitoring Mechanism only weakens the role of the Committee and the Army, and could lead the military establishment to freeze cooperation with the Cessation of Hostilities Monitoring Mechanism regarding site inspections,' the Lebanese Army warned. The Israeli enemy prevented the Lebanese Army from inspecting threatened sites on Thursday's aggression on Dahiyeh in which dozens of strikes targeted residential areas across the southern suburb of Beirut.
