Nottingham Forest signs Swiss forward Dan Ndoye from Bologna
The 24-year-old forward has joined on a five-year deal. Forest did not say what the fee was for Ndoye, who helped his team to the Coppa Italia title last season by scoring the winning goal in the final.
'Dan is an exciting new addition to our squad and a player we have tracked extensively over a long period of time,' said Forest chief football officer Ross Wilson.
Ndoye has won 22 caps and played at last year's European Championship.
'It is a really exciting time at Forest and I knew straight away that I wanted to be a part of the project. It's a really ambitious team with a fantastic history and I can't wait to get started," he said.

Matt Turner is feeling back at home with New England Revolution
Matt Turner is enjoying a happy homecoming with the New England Revolution, returning to the club that gave him his first shot in professional soccer. He's hoping to reestablish himself as one of the premier keepers in the sport, and help New England return to form in the process. Turner's star rose to unprecedented levels with the Revolution. He went from going undrafted in 2016 to a star of Major League Soccer in a matter of a few years, earning MLS Goalkeeper of the Year honors in 2021. It was that season when Turner's play in goal helped New England win its first Supporters' Shield. Years of turning away shots and logging clean sheets in Foxboro earned Turner a transfer to European powerhouse Arsenal, but his time across the pond did not go as planned. He was buried in Arsenal and moved to Nottingham Forest, whom he played 17 matches for in 2023-24. He was then loaned to Crystal Palace, and was set to join France club Lyons on loan this summer before the organization fell into financial trouble. Turner said it was tough to be buried on the depth chart and then sit in limbo this summer. But his bumpy road overseas ultimately paved his way back to Foxboro. "For me, it was always New England," Turner said Monday as he was re-introduced by the Revolution. "It was always my home, always coming back here when the opportunity presented itself. It's a good situation and the right time for us." Turner said he has no regrets from his time overseas. He learned a lot with Arsenal and the other clubs he was with, and has seen his family grow with the birth of his two young children. "I had some misfortunes and there were opportunities I didn't make the most of," said Turner. "Still, I started my family while I was over there. I have zero regrets." Turner said his New England return came together pretty quickly, because the New England front office had been keeping a close eye on him and had been in touch with his agent since his departure in 2022. He remained close with a number of his former Revs teammates too, many of whom text Turner with the eyeballs emoji when rumors started to surface about a potential return last week. "When I left, I never stopped being a Revolution supporter myself. This club has meant so much to me and my family," Turner said Monday. "All the ups and downs over the years – winning a Supporters' Shield, the first major trophy in club history -– all those memories are a lifetime worth of memories." Turner and his family were back in Gillette Stadium earlier this year to attend a match and received a huge ovation from New England supporters. He was blown away by the reception. "The way I felt the love from them, it was special. It was a while since I really felt those arms around me and it was eye-opening. It's good to be back in an environment where you're loved," he said. But this reunion is much more than just a feel-good story. For Turner, he's looking to secure consistent playing time and reassert himself as a top keeper. His best avenue toward reclaiming the starting goalkeeper job for the U.S. Men's National Team is by logging a lot of saves and clean sheets for New England. He wants to be the starting keeper for the 2026 World Cup, and dominating for the Revolution is his best chance to lock up the role. "I don't want to sour any milk," Turner said of his previous success with the club. "I want to work and continue on the journey I'm on here. I'm not here just to parade around and be Matt Turner. I know and understand this club is going through some difficult moments this season, and I want to bring that winning mentality back and create relationships that will last a lifetime with he supporters and the guys in that locker room." The Revolution sit at just 6-11-7 on the season and have watched their playoff hopes fade over the last month. The club has struggled to score during a nine-match winless streak, and Turner won't be able to help much in that department. But the leadership he can bring to the locker room and on the pitch could prove to be invaluable for New England. "His leadership is key," New England Revolution sporting director Curt Onalfo said Monday. "He'll be an important part of our locker room and in games, when you have those unfortunate moments when momentum is shifting, you need those leaders to push the momentum back. We know his leadership will be invaluable in the locker room." "I know the club is going through a tough stretch this season and I want to bring back that winning mentality," said Turner. Turner is expected to be available for Saturday's match against D.C. United at Gillette Stadium. He's on loan to New England through next season, but said he'd be open to a more permanent pact that would keep the 31-year-old with the club longterm. "The door is open for anything. If it goes well here, I go with the national team and get consistently called in," he said. "I would never shut the door on a long term stay, but I don't want to shut the door on anywhere."

Lions hooker Dan Sheehan suspended for four matches after reckless ruck clearout
SYDNEY (AP) — British and Irish Lions hooker Dan Sheehan was suspended for four matches on Monday for his illegal ruck clearout of Australia's Tom Lynagh at the weekend. Sheehan was cited for charging into a ruck and hitting Lynagh's head on Saturday in the third test won by the Wallabies 22-12 in Sydney. At his disciplinary hearing, Sheehan disagreed that foul play occurred. But the panel found it was reckless with a high degree of danger. The panel suspended him from four Leinster club matches in September and October, but allowed him to be available for the fourth match if he completed World Rugby's tackle school. ___

Cowboys fans taunt Jerry Jones with Micah Parsons chants as contract drama festers
Cowboys fans made their Micah Parsons demands quite clear to team owner Jerry Jones on Saturday. One day after the All-Pro defensive end publicly requested a trade amid an ugly standoff over a contract extension, Cowboys faithful rolled up to training camp in Oxnard, Calif., with pro-Parsons signs as they broke out a 'we want Micah' chant from the stands, as captured by The Athletic. Tensions between Parsons, 26, and the Cowboys boiled over Friday when the four-time Pro Bowler stated he 'no longer' wants to be in Dallas, where his NFL career officially began in 2021. 5 Cowboys fans broke out the 'We want Micah' chants at Cowboys training camp on Aug. 2, 2025, which team owner Jerry Jones attended. Kirby Lee-Imagn Images 'I did everything I could to show that I wanted to be a Cowboy and wear the star on my helmet. I wanted to play in front of the best fans in sports and make this Americas team once again,' the former first-round pick wrote. '… Unfortunately I no longer want to be here.' Parsons, who has one year left on his rookie deal, recalled a March conversation he had with Jones, 82, about leadership, but 'somehow turned into him talking contract with me.' 5 Micah Parsons, here on July 26, 2025, requested a trade from the Cowboys in August 2025. AP 'Yes I engaged in a back and forth in regards to what I wanted from my contract, but at no point did I believe this was supposed to be a formal negotation and I informed Mr. Jones afterward my agent would reach out thinking this would get things done. But when my agent reached out and spoke to [ESPN's] Adam [Schefter] he was told the deal was pretty much done. My agent of course told him that wasn't the case and also reached to [Cowboys executive VP] Stephen Jones. Again the team decided to go radio silent,' Parsons penned. '… Up to today the team has not had a single conversation with my agent about my contract. Not one demand has been made by my agent about money years or anything else. Still I stayed quiet but again after repeated shots at myself and all the narratives I have made a tough decision I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys.' Jones, who called out Parsons for missing time last year due to injury, offered his first comments on the bombshell trade request Saturday at training camp. 5 Stephen Jones (l.) and Jerry Jones (r.) speak at Cowboys training camp in July 2025. AP 'I would say to our fans, don't lose any sleep over this,' he told reporters. '… We're in good shape. This is negotiation.' The messy fallout only continued from there when Jones rehashed past contract talks involving former Cowboys wideout Dez Bryant and Jay-Z — a five-year, $70 million contract extension in 2015 —drawing reactions from the receiver and Roc Nation Sports, the latter's management company. 'Jerry Jones I don't think it's smart to mention my name,' Bryant posted Saturday on X. 'I kept quiet about a lot of unfair s–t…We can have story time if that's what we are doing.' 5 Micah Parsons has played for the Cowboys since 2021. USA TODAY Sports via Reuters Con Jones initially said Saturday, 'Because when we have a problem with the player, the agent is nowhere to be found… Jay-Z said that Dez would make all meetings. Jay-Z and I negotiated the contract, spent hours. He said, 'Anybody in my organization is on time.' He said, 'My office used to be on the street corner, and I've always been early. So, they will be on time.' And what did I say? I said, 'I'm going to call you [if I have a problem].' He quit taking my call.' Roc Nation then hit back by stating, 'In 2015, at the 21 Club, on a napkin, Jerry Jones, Juan Perez, Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter and Stephen Jones negotiated a five-year, $70 million deal, which included a $45 million guarantee and a $20 million signing bonus for Dez Bryant… The claim that Mr. Carter or Roc Nation representatives did not return a call from Jerry Jones is not only a false statement, but it's also a comical one.' The Cowboys open the preseason against the Rams on Saturday. They visit the Super Bowl champion Eagles in the season opener on Thursday, Sept. 4.
