What was the Chelsea score today? Result, highlights from AC Milan preseason friendly
Chelsea faced AC Milan at Stamford Bridge on Sunday in their final preseason fixture before the 2025/26 Premier League campaign begins.
The Blues started their preparations for the new season quite late after their exploits at the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, where they stunned Paris Saint-Germain to win 3-0 in the final.
Enzo Maresca's team beat Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 on Friday and were back in action just 48 hours later as they welcomed the Rossoneri to South West London. Milan were in Dublin only a day prior to face Leeds United in another friendly.
Massimiliano Allegri is back in charge at the San Siro and has enjoyed some positive results in preseason. Although his team lost 1-0 to Arsenal before winning a penalty shootout, they then beat Liverpool 4-2 and thrashed A-League side Perth Glory 9-0 in Australia.

What was the Chelsea score today?
Chelsea beat AC Milan 4-1 in their friendly match on August 10.
The Premier League side led after only five minutes thanks to an own goal from Andrei Coubis, who could do little to avoid turning the ball into his own net following a Reece James free-kick.
Joao Pedro continued his strong start to life at Chelsea by heading in his side's second and drawing the foul that saw Coubis sent off before 20 minutes had been played.
Liam Delap's emphatic penalty made it 3-0 midway through the second half, before Youssouf Fofana pulled a goal back for Milan at the end of a slick passing move.
Delap got his second with a good first-time finish from a clever pass from Andrey Santos.
Andrei Coubis scores own goal, gets sent off
Andrei Coubis is yet to play a senior competitive game for Milan and, on the basis of this performance, he might be dreading the day he finally does.
The Romania youth international's own goal after only five minutes gave Chelsea the lead, and he was shown a straight red card just 13 minutes later for bringing down Joao Pedro when he was through on goal.
It brought to mind Jonathan Woodgate's infamous debut for Real Madrid 20 years ago. The former England centre-back, who missed his whole first season with Los Blancos due to injury, scored an own goal and was shown two yellow cards in a 3-1 victory over Athletic Club.
Chelsea vs. AC Milan highlights
5': Reece James' free-kick is diverted into his own net by Coubis.

A tricky winger showed exactly what Manchester City missed last season
Oscar Bobb appeared poised to play a prominent role for Manchester City last season. But the Norwegian international suffered a fractured leg on the eve of the 24/25 season. From there, Bobb's season was wrecked, and he never got a run at it. As Manchester City kicked off their 25/26 Premier League campaign with a 4-nil win over Wolves yesterday, Oscar Bobb showed exactly what his team missed out on last season. Based on his dazzling performance at Molineux, Bobb could be set to play a prominent role on the right wing for Pep Guardiola's side. Oscar Bobb played a key role for Manchester City in their win at Molineux. When the Manchester City starting lineup was announced, it was exciting to see Oscar Bobb starting on the right wing. Bobb is highly regarded by Pep Guardiola and his teammates. It didn't take him long to make an impact. Bobb's dribbling and movement stood out in the first half. At times, he mesmerised the Wolves defence. Bobb's pressing out of possession was also a key component of his play, and it helped set up Manchester City's second goal of the game. Bobb dispossessed Andre, then made a surging run at the Wolves defence. He calmly slipped in Tijjani Reijnders, who made it 2-nil with a quality finish. That play showed exactly what Bobb adds to Pep Guardiola's side. Yesterday's match opened up more in the second half, as Vitor Pereira's side chased the game, there was more space for the Manchester City attack to operate in. It was this space that Oscar Bobb and Tijjani Reijnders exploited to set up Erling Haaland for Manchester City's third goal of the game. Bobb was at the heart of the move and his close control and neat passing set Reijnders free to tee up Haaland. Haaland did the rest and it was game over. Bobb could be Manchester City's preferred player for the right wing role as the season progresses. Oscar Bobb's performance yesterday was full of promise. The Norwegian international understands the nuances of Manchester City's play and there is no reason why he cannot make the right wing role his own this season. He has the talent to do so. His performance yesterday was sparkling and showed what City missed so dearly last season.

Man United: Ruben Amorim explains Onana's absence against Arsenal
André Onana Before the Premier League showdown between Manchester United and Arsenal, Red Devils coach Ruben Amorim spoke out about André Onana's absence. This Sunday, André Onana is not in the Manchester United squad for their first big clash of the season against Arsenal in the Premier League. The Cameroonian goalkeeper was deemed not quite ready to return to action. Ahead of the encounter with the Gunners, Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim explained his decision to leave Onana out. "He's not injured, he's recovered… but the other players worked well during pre-season, so I have to find a balance. Next week, it'll be a different story. This week, we chose these players." the coach stated. A tactical decision, then.

Newcastle sign Ramsey from Aston Villa
Newcastle on Sunday announced they had signed midfielder Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa. "The 24-year-old becomes the Magpies' fourth first team addition of the summer after penning a long-term deal at St. James' Park," said the club on their website, without specifying the length of the contract or the transfer fee. British media reported the Magpies paid Villa £39 million ($52.9 million), with a further £4m in potential add-ons. Ramsey came through the youth system at Villa and made 167 appearances for the club. Last season, despite a mid-campaign hamstring injury, he played in 46 games, including 10 in the Champions League, but was often used off the bench. Newcastle pipped Villa to a Champions League berth at the end of last season. The two clubs opened their new campaigns by drawing 0-0 on Saturday. Ramsey was not part of the Villa squad for the game. "It's been a mad two or three days, but I'm really happy to be here and I can't wait to get started," said Ramsey on Newcastle's website. The club have signed Anthony Elanga, Aaron Ramsdale and Malick Thiaw, but have struggled to land other targets. Star striker Alexander Isak was not in the squad on Saturday following his reaction to the club turning down a bid from Liverpool. Coach Eddie Howe said it has been a "stressful" summer, but on Sunday was happy with his new signing. "Jacob is another fantastic addition to our squad," said Howe. "His qualities will bring us something different on the pitch and he fits the profile of being young and hungry to develop, but also with a wealth of Premier League football." Ramsey was part of England's European Under-21 Championship-winning squad in 2023 alongside new team-mate Anthony Gordon. bur-pb/nf
