County lines drug dealer jailed after police raids
Mohammed Fiaz, 40, of Newark Avenue in Peterborough, was caught during a dawn raid on his home as part of Operation Hypernova, a Cambridgeshire force-wide crackdown on county lines drug dealing and human trafficking.
Police found three mobile phones, with messages linking him to dealing crack cocaine and heroin.
At Peterborough Crown Court Fiaz admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine and on Tuesday was sentenced to 30 months in jail.
Det Con Stacey Neve, said: "Fiaz was sending bulk messages to vulnerable users advertising crack cocaine and heroin for sale in order to pocket the cash.
"We will continue to make the county hostile towards county lines drug dealers and prevent further exploitation of young and vulnerable people."
Operation Hypernova 3 took place in March and resulted in 50 county lines being dismantled and 35 people charged with more than 100 drug and human trafficking offences, Cambridgeshire Police said.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 16 — Police in Keningau, Sabah have dismantled a human trafficking syndicate that allegedly exploited secondary school students as sex victims, following a series of special operations between July 24 and 29. Keningau District Police Chief, Superintendent Yampil Anak Garai, told Harian Metro that investigations revealed the syndicate had recruited teenage girls, including two Form Two students, to be prostituted to customers. 'The activity came to light after the victims' parents lodged a report on July 24. 'Following this, a team from the Keningau District Criminal Investigation Division rescued four victims aged between 13 and 21, and arrested eight individuals to assist in the investigation,' he said when contacted by the national daily today. He added that an 18-year-old girl, known as 'Elly', was believed to have acted as a pimp and has already been charged in court under Section 14 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007. According to him, the syndicate used social media applications to seek customers, charging around RM200 per service before sending the victims to designated hotels. The proceeds were then split between the suspects and the victims. 'All victims have been taken to Keningau Hospital for medical examination and placed at a Women and Children's Protection Shelter. 'For the two underage victims, the court has granted a three-month protection order, and they have been placed at the Ampang Protection Home in Selangor until 13 November,' he said.

Pitt Meadows Secondary teacher charged with child luring, child pornography offences
A high school teacher in Pitt Meadows, B.C. has been charged with multiple child exploitation-related offences, according to the B.C. Prosecution Service. Court records show 30-year-old Lovesh Ramsaha has been charged with four counts, including internet luring of a child under 18, making sexually explicit material available to a child, making child pornography and distributing it. Ramsaha had been teaching at Pitt Meadows Secondary. The prosecution service said the alleged offences occurred between August 2024 and February 2025 at or near Pitt Meadows. In a statement to CBC News, Ridge Meadows RCMP said they launched an investigation in February after receiving a complaint regarding alleged sexual offences involving a local teacher. Because the suspect was in a position of authority, police said investigators acted quickly and worked with the school district to take appropriate steps. Pitt Meadows Secondary principal Colin Sharpe informed families in a letter Friday that Ramsaha had been removed from his teaching duties "as soon as the district became aware of the allegations." CBC News has obtained a copy of that letter. "Please be assured that the safety and well-being of our students is always our highest priority," the letter said. The B.C. teacher registry shows an "undertaking not to practice" was placed on Ramsaha's file in March. Few other details have been released due to privacy reasons and pending criminal charges. CBC News has attempted to contact Ramsaha but has not heard back. Ramsaha is currently not in custody and his next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 21 in Port Coquitlam, B.C.

Snoring suspected drink-driver caught by police sleeping at wheel
Watch the moment that a suspected drink-driver was caught by police snoring at the wheel. Footage shared by Cambridgeshire Police on Thursday (14 August) shows officers approaching a stationary vehicle in the middle of the road, after a member of the public reported that they saw a driver stumble into a Mercedes van and drive away. Inside the van was Scott Tuite, 36, who can be heard audibly snoring before officers removed the keys from the ignition and woke him up. Tuite, of Baumgartner, Godmanchester, failed to provide a specimen of breath and was arrested. He pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen for analysis at Cambridge Magistrates' Court on Thursday (7 August). He was handed a community order for 12 months, ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid work and disqualified from driving.
