Celebs Join TikTok's Slightly Threatening & Hilarious ‘Show & Tell' Trend
TikTok has birthed another viral sensation. This time, it's a slightly threatening, yet comical 'Show and Tell' trend, where celebrities and fans alike support their friends and families businesses, ideas, and creations. Check out some of our favorites including Tisha Campbell and Tabitha Brown's renditions inside.
What started as a playful format where people show off their friends and families with a mix of sass and pride has turned into a viral showcase with just a hint of menace. And of course, Black celebrities are adding their own flavor. Two standout uploads come from none other than actress and singer Tisha Campbell with her son Xen and beloved vegan influencer and actress Tabitha Brown with her daughter Choyce,
In Campell's video, she's the defendant and supporter, highlighting his love for 'toys' or action figures. The Internet especially loved how the actress celebrated her son and those who also experience autism. In the viral video, she proudly showcases her son in a playful-yet-protective tone. With over-the-top expressions and an unmistakable motherly energy, Campbell nails the assignment, reminding everyone that a Black mom's love is deep, dramatic, and not to be tested.
In Tabitha's video, her daughter Choyce steals the show. They took on the trending challenge to promote Tabitha's haircare line, Donna's Recipe. Her daughter passionately made sure fans and consumers were listening to the message before her mom spoke.
'Y'all gone listen and shut up and like it,' Choyce says with quiet fierceness in the video.
Their takes on the trend are sending TikTok users into fits of laughter, and maybe, a little bit of fear. It resonates across the Internet with viewers as it taps into that fierce protector instinct, packaged in a comical, campy tone that makes it endlessly replay-able. With each video, audiences are reminded just how creative and chaotic TikTok can be when parents decide to go viral on their own terms.
Whether you're a celebrity or not, this 'show & tell' moment has officially become the internet's new favorite threat.

Woman Has C-Section, Horror at What She Sees Cat Doing 5 Days Later
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A new mom who recently gave birth via emergency cesarean section was horrified by what her cat was doing just days after. Georgie Popperwell (@georgie_popperwell) joined in on the "late-night finds" TikTok trend, where users share funny or unexpected discoveries. She posted a photo cradling her newborn with her partner's arm wrapped around her. The next clip, however, shows Monroe, the family cat, batting around a live mouse in the house. Popperwell told Newsweek that her traumatic c-section left her "in a great deal of pain." "It wasn't how I wanted my birth to go, so I was dealing with this mentally as well as physically," she said. Georgie Popperwell lays in a hospital bed holding her baby girl while her partner has his arm around her, kissing her cheek. "I ended up with an infection as well, which prolonged the healing process and caused more pain," Popperwell added. So, when Monroe appeared with her late-night "gift," the new mom felt truly trapped. "I was worried it would come near me," Popperwell said. "But, as long as the mouse stayed at that distance, I was OK. My cat brings in mice nearly daily, so I am used to this happening." Despite the mouse incident, Popperwell said that Monroe is very misunderstood. "She is shy and nervous, so she seems unfriendly or like she doesn't enjoy a stroke or cuddle, but it's completely the opposite," Popperwell said. "When she trusts you, she is affectionate and absolutely loves a good cuddle. She is a sucker for a chin scratch, and is so lovely and gentle." Popperwell's post has more than 2.5 million views and over 341,000 likes. Hundreds of cat owners sympathized with her ordeal in the comments. "I came home from having my youngest, sat on the floor because I was exhausted, and sat right in mouse guts my cat had left," one user posted. "Omg [oh my God] this happened to me. I was up doing a night feed and it came out to play I cried for weeks," another mom wrote. Others, however, were on the mouse's side. "Mice aren't dangerous or scary," a third user commented. "Awww the mouse just sitting there," a fourth added. The TikTok reaction caught Popperwell off guard. "The reaction has not been the way I thought it would go," she said. "I thought people would be in agreement that this event was a bit scary and would empathize in my disgust, but most people are saying how cute the mouse is," she added. Popperwell said that she also received a lot of criticism for letting her cat roam free outside. "I have also been educated on toxoplasmosis [an infection caused by a parasite carried by cats usually harmless to healthy adults but can be dangerous for newborns], which I knew nothing about before," she added.

From South Linden to the Big Easy: Linden-McKinley marching band hopes for biggest trip yet
It's a nine-to-five day for the members of the Linden-McKinley STEM Academy's "Unstoppable Mighty Marching Panthers." For three weeks of band camp, the students have been starting at 9 a.m., doing physical conditioning by taking laps on the track, then settling in for a long day of practicing their routines in the summer heat. This year, they're training with a focus. The Linden-McKinley marching band is fundraising to go to New Orleans to march in the famous Mardis Gras parade in 2026. The trip represents the most ambitious event yet for a band that was just a dozen members a decade ago but now numbers around 70, including dancers. For the students, this is an opportunity of a lifetime. Tarlyn Arnold, 18, a senior and head drum major for the band, loves music of all kinds. "(The band) came to my elementary school, so I was like 'Oh, this is what I want to do,'" Arnold said. "So I came here, and I started. Here I am now." Arnold said the New Orleans trip is an opportunity to get the Unstoppable Mighty Marching Panthers' name out and to be a representative of the Linden community. "Around here, there's not really a good representation in a lot of the stuff going on," Arnold said. "So for us, going to New Orleans, doing good things, getting trophies — I love it. It's not good around here, but we try to make it better." To get to New Orleans, Band Director Stephen Ingram says the band is aiming to raise $100,000, and is asking for the community's support. Part of the trip, Ingram said, includes opportunities for cultural learning and touring colleges. He is hoping the "community will rally" to help them get there. "For a lot of them, it's a dream," Ingram said. "It's a dream to see some of these schools, and to be in that environment. Let's start making these dreams a reality." Phrell Dawson, 14, a freshman mellophone player, said he was excited for the opportunity to do new things and the chance to possibly play in a famous parade. "It's fun to travel somewhere you've never been," Dawson said. Raising the bar — and raising it again While the band plans to go South next year, for Ingram, the only way forward for the band is up. "A lot of the groups we've seen in our competitions, they've gone down to New Orleans and done the parade, and they love it," Ingram said. "Well, we're just as good if not better, so let's go out there and see." It's not just musical opportunities for students, it's also academic ones. In 2023, the Marching Panthers went to Memphis for the Southern Heritage Classic, the annual historically Black college football game between the Golden Lions of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and the Tennessee State University Tigers. There, they took first place in every category. Ingram said that following the 2023 trip, three of the five seniors eventually attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff on band scholarships. "There's life outside, no matter the struggles you think you might have or the narrows people might put you in, there's life there," Ingram said. "There's nothing you can't do, and there's a future for them." Dawson said that the marching band is like a "big little family" and that the members encourage one another and "push each other to do great things." "It changed my life," Dawson said. "When I was in seventh grade, I had nothing to do. I was playing games all day. Now I've got something to do." Arnold said it has been good to see the "family" constantly growing and "getting the word out" since joining. "Sometimes there's stuff going on at home, we don't know what's going on, but when you come here — it's a safe space," Arnold said. "You leave everything at the door and there's no judgment." Golden Retriever Digs Hole in Backyard, Owners Unprepared for His Reaction
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A puppy's nonchalant reaction to digging up the entire backyard has left internet viewers in hysterics. The owner, who uses the social-media tag @ from Staffordshire, in the U.K., shared footage of the destroyed garden before panning to the mischievous golden retriever, lying flat on his back asleep. The video has since garnered over 44,500 likes and almost 300,000 views. "My puppy after digging a giant hole and ruining the garden," the poster wrote as the text overlaying the clip of the mess. "All in a days work for Bear," they captioned the post. The video shows grass and dirt dug up and scattered, while Bear rests inside, blissfully unaware of the extent of the upheaval. The owner added that he was only at it from 10 to 10:05 a.m., highlighting his destructive digging capabilities. U.K. shelter Battersea Dogs & Cats Home says that digging is a normal behavior for dogs, but it can quickly become a nuisance in the garden. They recommend ensuring your pup gets plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to curb the habit. Providing toys, setting aside a specific digging area, and rewarding good behavior can also help redirect their energy. Golden retrievers, in particular, are known for their playful and inquisitive nature, which can make them prone to digging. Wag! experts say that retrievers may dig out of boredom, to seek comfort, or even as a way of exploring scents and sounds underground. For some, the behavior is simply an instinctive outlet for their high energy. Stock image: A golden retriever puppy digs in the dirt. Stock image: A golden retriever puppy digs in the dirt. Kinek00/iStock / Getty Images Plus TikTok users were quick to flood the comments with laughter and solidarity over Bear's antics. "I think that hole dug itself and the puppy is innocent," posted one user. "Why are they like this hahaha?" asked Marie. "I have one who has been quietly digging a grave. It's in a shady corner behind stuff and I hadn't noticed until the debris was flicked far enough to be seen. Enormous," commented Daf. "How respectful of him to not bring any mud in house though," added another user. "Surprisingly clean afterward … Good boy," added Nic. "He feels so guilty he fell into a coma," wrote one viewer. "That was a hard days work!!" posted another user. Newsweek reached out to @ for comment via TikTok. We could not verify the details of the case.
