Second round of Türkiye-UAE consultations on Africa to be held in Abu Dhabi
Discussions to focus on developments in Africa, explore potential areas of cooperation across the continent.
The second round of Türkiye-United Arab Emirates consultations on Africa will be held in Abu Dhabi on Monday, according to the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Burhanettin Duran and UAE's State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahbut bin Nahyan Al Nahyan will co-chair the consultations.
The discussions will focus on developments in Africa and explore potential areas of cooperation in economy, investment, and development across the continent.
The decision to hold regular consultations on Africa was made during President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to the UAE in February 2022, following a meeting between the foreign ministers of both nations. In line with this agreement, the first Türkiye-UAE consultations on Africa took place in Ankara on Oct. 10, 2023.

Tehran - Saba: The Islamic Republic of Iran has submitted a strongly-worded protest note to the US Interests Section in Tehran following the American military aggression against Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities. According to Iran's Mehr News Agency, Esmaeil Khamleh, Assistant Foreign Minister and Director-General for American Affairs at Iran's Foreign Ministry, handed over the formal protest note on Sunday to Nadine Lozano, Switzerland's Ambassador to Iran, who represents US interests in the country. The note was to be immediately relayed to US government officials. Khamleh stated that Iran strongly condemns the aggressive actions of the US government, which were explicitly claimed by the American president. He emphasized that this military attack constitutes a clear violation of the United Nations Charter, fundamental principles of international law, the non-proliferation regime, UN Security Council Resolution 2231, and other regulations prohibiting aggression against peaceful nuclear facilities of sovereign states. Khamleh reaffirmed Iran's legitimate right, under Article 51 of the UN Charter, to defend its territorial integrity, security, and national interests. He warned that the US government bears full responsibility for the political, legal, and international consequences of this aggressive act. Russia: Moscow strongly condemns Ukrainian drones hovers over Kazakhstan
Moscow - Saba: Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Moscow strongly condemns the flights of Ukrainian drones over Kazakhstan on June 19 and 20, which were likely intended to carry out attacks inside Russian territory. Zakharova said in a statement on the Russian Foreign Ministry's website: "On June 19 and 20, dozens of Ukrainian Armed Forces drones were recorded flying over the territory of the West Kazakhstan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which were likely intended to launch attacks on Russia. We strongly condemn such actions against our ally and a member of the Collective Security Treaty Organization." She explained that the incident demonstrates the Kyiv regime's indifference to the territorial integrity of other states, which it increasingly violates. She said: "We call on all responsible governments and relevant international bodies to heed such provocations, respond appropriately to such actions, and, most importantly, publicly distance themselves from the Kyiv regime and its Western proxies, who are recklessly endangering the security of the entire Eurasian region."
