Starbucks just dropped a new cold brew—and brought back a fan-favorite syrup

Time Out28-07-2025
Hot on the heels of making their secret menu official, Starbucks has announced the return of its beloved raspberry syrup, ripe and ready to add a taste of summer to your favorite coffee beverage. Starting today, July 29, you can sip on a brand new Raspberry Cream Cold Brew or whatever sweet, fruity coffee combo you come up with.
This raspberry revival is just as tasty as the syrup you know and love, with a bright new upgrade. The juicy, sweet-tart flavor is the same, but the syrup is now tinted with a bold sangria hue thanks to the addition of real fruits and veggies.
To showcase the return of raspberry, Starbucks is also introducing the brand-new Raspberry Cream Cold Brew. It's made with smooth Starbucks cold brew sweetened with vanilla syrup and topped with a frothy layer of raspberry cream cold foam. The drink balances smooth cocoa flavors of the cold brew with notes of raspberry, making it the perfect summer pick-me-up.
Beyond this signature drink, the raspberry syrup is ready to remix your usual Starbucks order, or you can try a few house recommendations:
White Chocolate Mocha with Raspberry Syrup: Raspberry brings a fruity twist to creamy white chocolate and espresso, available hot or iced.
Strawberry Acai Refresher with Raspberry Syrup: Sweet strawberry, passionfruit and açaí notes are boosted by raspberry, shaken with ice and real strawberry pieces.
Iced Green Tea with Raspberry Syrup: Green tea meets mint, lemongrass, lemon verbena and a punch of raspberry.
Like hot summer days, this seasonal flavor won't be around forever, so stop by your favorite Starbucks to pick up a raspberry-tinged treat while it lasts.

Oprah Winfrey picks Richard Russo's 'Bridge of Sighs' for her book club

Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Richard Russo i s the latest author to be welcomed into the inner circle of Oprah Winfrey book club picks. Winfrey announced Tuesday that she had selected Russo's 'Bridge of Sighs,' a 2007 novel centered in a rural New York community. Russo has set much of his work in small, Northeastern towns, including 'Nobody's Fool,' later adapted into a movie of the same name that starred Paul Newman; and 'Empire Falls,' winner of the Pulitzer in 2002 and the basis for an Emmy-winning HBO series that featured Newman and his wife, Joanne Woodward. Winfrey often chooses new books for her club, but has at times looked to older releases, from Toni Morrison's 'The Bluest Eye' to John Steinbeck's 'East of Eden.' 'It is, of course, a profound honor to be chosen for Oprah's Book Club,' Russo said in a statement. 'But to be chosen for a novel written two decades earlier? A book that will introduce a whole new generation of readers to my work? How special is that?' A conversation between Winfrey and Russo, held recently at a Starbucks in Seattle, can be seen on Winfrey's YouTube channel and on other outlets where podcasts are aired. Starbucks is the current partner for Winfrey's book club, which she founded in 1996. On Tuesday, Winfrey issued a statement praising 'Bridge of Sighs' as a 'classic summer read,' with "romance, unrequited love, life-long friendships, and of course — epic family drama.' 'If you're a fan of Richard Russo or discovering him for the first time, here's your opportunity to read one of America's most beloved writers,' she added.

Starbucks fans 'heartbroken' as they notice one thing 'missing' from autumn menu

Starbucks has released its autumn menu, and while many are excited for the return of the iconic Pumpkin Spiced Latte, some fans are devastated by a 'missing' drink Starbucks enthusiasts are all echoing the same sentiment after the coffee chain unveiled its autumn lineup. Despite it being only August, a number of brands are already preparing for the changing of the seasons with autumn now on the horizon. While we are currently in the midst of peak iced coffee weather, countless customers are eagerly anticipating their first pumpkin spiced latte of the year. ‌ The popular beverage is scheduled to hit Starbucks outlets later this month alongside a collection of fresh and returning seasonal drinks and snacks. Last year, the official UK launch date for the pumpkin spiced latte was August 22 - a full month ahead of previous years. In 2025, the beverage is expected to arrive slightly later than before. ‌ According to Starbucks, their renowned "PSL" will make its comeback to US branches from August 26, with the drink expected to be available around the same period in the UK. The autumn selection typically remains on offer until early November. ‌ Alongside the beloved PSL, customers will also be able to savour a Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, an Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai, and a Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte. A fresh addition launching this year is the Pecan Oatmilk Cortado. Another newcomer on the menu is the Italian Sausage Egg Bites. According to Speculite on Instagram, patrons can also indulge in the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin and the Pumpkin and Pepita Loaf Slice. ‌ "My sweet beautiful iced pumpkin chai," remarked one person on the post. "Running for the Pumpkin Chai," another enthusiast agreed. A third person wrote: "Can't wait. Wish they had this all year round." While patrons are buzzing about the new menu offerings, there's a noticeable absence that has left many feeling a bit sour - the Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato. ‌ One customer lamented: "Apple Crisp is my lifeline, please don't discontinue." Another pleaded: "Please bring the apple drinks back!" while another chimed in with: "I need Apple Crisp,". "The Apple Crisp was everything," read one of the comments, and yet another fan echoed: "All I care about it the Apple Crisp,". Meanwhile someone claiming to be a Starbucks employee shared some insider info: "I work at Starbucks and I can confirm that the Pumpkin Muffin is coming back, we have always had the Pumpkin Loaf. If your store doesn't then they haven't got shipment for them. "And the apple drinks will not be coming back." Starbucks has been contacted for an update.
