
Murder charge over woman attacked following Leicester crash
A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman who was assaulted in Leicester following a crash.Police said the woman was attacked in Aylestone Road on Tuesday after the crash at about 17:30 BST.The woman, 56-year-old Nila Patel, died in hospital from her injuries on Thursday.Michael Chuwuemeka, 23, of Dover Street, Leicester, has been remanded to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
A post-mortem examination has been conducted, and a provisional cause of Ms Patel's death has been given as a head injury.Mr Chuwuemeka has also been charged with dangerous driving, possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, attempted grievous bodily harm relating to an incident on Welford Road prior to the collision, and assault of an emergency worker following an alleged assault on a police officer after his arrest.He has also been charged with causing actual bodily harm in connection with a separate victim in London in the early hours of Tuesday.

A woman has been killed in a motorbike crash on the M69 in Leicestershire, police have were called to a stretch of the northbound motorway at 00:13 BST on Saturday after reports the 19-year-old rider had come off her bike as she travelled towards Leicester with three other was reported she had then been struck by a car, Leicestershire Police woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Second murder arrest after body found near Shrewsbury water tower
Police investigating a man's death have arrested a second murder 21-year-old man was detained on Friday evening in Shrewsbury.
