U'khand police cautions against fraudulent donation links for Op Sindoor
Dehradun: The cybercrime unit of Uttarakhand Police issued an advisory on Saturday, warning citizens about fraudulent links being circulated by scammers under the pretext of seeking donations for armed forces personnel involved in
Operation Sindoor
.
The advisory was released after the unit received reports of such links being sent to individuals in the state via messages from unknown numbers. Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) of state cyber crime unit and Special Task Force (STF) Ankush Mishra said that no cases related to this scam have been reported in the state so far.
"It has come to light that cyber fraudsters are trying to deceive people on the pretext of Operation Sindoor conducted by the armed forces against Pakistan-based threats. The fraudsters pose as members of the armed forces or govt officials and solicit donations by sharing a link, claiming it is for the welfare of armed personnel involved in the operation. These links are entirely fraudulent and have no association with the armed forces or any official govt platform," he said.
He further advised the public not to click on such links. "If someone falls victim to this scam, they should immediately report it by calling the cyber helpline at 1930 or by visiting the nearest police station," he added.

A turbaned man was seen driving the vehicle and walking away afterward. The vehicle was later found to have a fake number plate. Kaur's online presence and alleged threats Kaur was a prominent content creator, known for her comedic videos under the Instagram handle 'Kamal Kaur Bhabhi', which had 384,000 followers. Her YouTube channel, 'Funny Bhabhi', had 236,000 subscribers. Her content, often humorous and occasionally provocative, attracted both admiration and criticism. Media reports indicate that in 2024, she was allegedly warned by individuals claiming ties to Canada-based Khalistani extremist Arsh Dalla. She was told to stop posting what they deemed 'vulgar' content. No formal complaint was filed at the time, according to The Indian Express. Police probe motives, await post-mortem report Police are investigating whether Kaur had received recent threats or was involved in any disputes, either personal or professional. Her body has been sent for post-mortem, and authorities continue to gather evidence to determine the cause and motive behind the suspected murder.

My client would like to bring the true facts to your attention and would like to state unequivocally that such media reports are completely untrue."Vadra has complied with all the ED summons, demands for information and documentation for the last ten years. He has repeatedly affirmed and demonstrated his full cooperation with the authorities and will continue his full cooperation as a law-abiding citizen of India," Khaitan said in a said Vadra received a summons to appear before the ED on June 10 in respect of a case in which he has already appeared before the agency on multiple occasions dating back to 2019 when he also filed voluminous documents."On 09.06.2025, he came down with flu-like symptoms and was advised to take a COVID-19 test . He also volunteered to attend proceedings virtually if the ED thought it necessary to carry them out immediately," Vadra's lawyer lawyer said Vadra is scheduled to travel abroad later this month to attend his daughter's college graduation ceremony."He (Vadra) is perfectly happy to attend proceedings at any other time before or after the trip just as he has already done several times," his counsel also claimed that he has also recently submitted voluminous documents and answered all the questions asked by ED in the past."Any attempt to suggest that Mr. Vadra's attendance of his daughter's graduation ceremony is some sort of ruse to avoid attending any proceedings is completely untrue, unacceptable and without any basis in fact.
