Kate Middleton Wears Pearl Earrings With Sobering History for Holocaust Remembrance Day Service With Prince William
Kate Middleton joined her husband Prince William for a somber occasion in London on Monday, as the Prince and Princess of Wales commemorated Holocaust Remembrance Day with a special service. The memorial marked the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau during World War II.
For the sobering occasion, Kate favored respectful attire, wearing pieces evocative of subdued elegance. The Princess of Wales' attire featured trousers by Roland Mouret, a coat by Catherine Walker, a five-strand pearl necklace and what appeared to be sentimental earrings that once belonged to Queen Elizabeth II.

Kate wore the Bahrain Pearl Drop earrings for the occasion, pieces that she's previously worn on similarly sobering occasions. Queen Elizabeth II received the pearls after her wedding to Prince Philip and often wore them for public events.
The earrings were eventually passed down to Kate, who's worn them regularly for such occasions as Remembrance Day services in the United Kingdom. In 2021, the Princess of Wales wore the earrings for Prince Philip's funeral. The earrings were also worn to Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in 2022.
Kate's appearance at the Holocaust Remembrance Day service marks one of her first public events since she announced her cancer remission. The Princess of Wales underwent chemotherapy treatment in 2024 for an undisclosed form of cancer she publicly disclosed in March 2024.
Since completing her treatment in September, the royal slowly rejoined members of the British royal family at public events. Prior to the Holocaust Remembrance Day service, the Princess of Wales visited with patients at the Royal Marsden Hospital, where she received treatment.
Ahead of the Holocaust Remembrance Day services, the Prince and Princess of Wales took to their official Instagram account to share a message to commemorate the occasion. 'Today we remember the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, victims of Nazi persecution, as well as the victims of more recent genocides, including Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur,' the caption to their post read.

Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte Twin In Aquamarine For Trooping the Colour
"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Princess Charlotte was every bit Kate Middleton's mini-me at this year's Trooping the Colour celebration. The mother-daughter duo matched in bright aquamarine hues for the annual event, which honors the reigning monarch's birthday with a grand display of military pageantry. While Charlotte often coordinates her look with her brothers, Prince George and Prince Louis, for royal outings, this time she took a cue from her mother's signature flair for a standout sartorial moment and opted to mirror her fashion rather than her siblings'. For the parade, which traditionally sees members of the royal family arrive in horse-drawn carriages, the Princess of Wales wore a striking blue-green and ivory coatdress by Catherine Walker. Ever the fan of a good accessory, she completed the look with a wide-brimmed Juliette Botterill hat topped with a sculptural flower, the Irish Guards Regimental Brooch, and drop pearl earrings that belonged to the late Queen Elizabeth. She paired her ensemble with nude pointed-toe pumps that grounded her outfit. Charlotte echoed her mother's palette in a light aqua dress featuring a crisp white bow at the waist, which matched the ribbon tied into her signature braided half-up, half-down hairstyle. Following in her mom's footsteps, she finished her look with classic white ballet flats. Trooping the Colour, which is also known as the King's Birthday Parade, is a tradition that dates back to King George III in the 18th century. Though King Charles won't turn 77 until November 14, the June ceremony serves as the sovereign's official birthday celebration every year. Prince Harry Claimed Meghan Markle Awkwardly Clashed With Kate Middleton at Her 1st Trooping the Colour
Prince Harry once revealed an awkward exchange between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton that happened at Markle's first Trooping the Colour in 2018. Markle and Harry have not attended the annual celebration of the British monarch's official birthday since 2019 and, per People, are not invited to this year's June 14 event amid an ongoing feud with the Royal Family. And it seems Harry may have given insight into why this particular event is a source of tension between the Royals in his 2023 memoir, Spare. More from SheKnows Memorable Photos of Princess Diana at Trooping the Colour Through the Years Harry recalled that the 2018 Trooping the Colour festivities were one of his and Markle's 'first public appearances as newlyweds' after getting married a month earlier. The pair returned from their 10-day honeymoon in the Mediterranean just in time to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's birthday. Royal fans will remember that Markle made headlines for breaking Royal protocol at the event, but Harry noted in his memoir that throughout most of the day, 'everyone present was in a good mood, upbeat.' However, the Duke of Sussex said the mood suddenly shifted after the family's appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. Upon returning inside, Harry wrote that, 'Kate asked Meg what she thought of her first Trooping the Colour.' Harry said that his new bride jokingly described the event as, 'Colourful,' poking fun at the name. After her joke, Middleton allegedly responded with what Harry called 'a yawning silence' that 'threatened to swallow us all whole.' Middleton and Markle's fraught relationship was well documented in Harry's memoir. He wrote that the two women had a falling out in the lead up to his and Markle's wedding after Middleton's texts about Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress not fitting properly left Markle 'sobbing' on the floor. Harry and Markle attended the Trooping the Colour once more in 2019, but by the time the Royals made their return after a two-year hiatus in 2020 and 2021, the couple had announced their departure from Royal duties and relocated to the US. Was Rose Hanbury at the 2025 Trooping the Colour? Here's What We Know
The usual guests were in attendance at the Trooping the Colour ceremony this year: the Wales family, King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and more. But a lot of fans were wondering, will Kate's buddy Rose Hanbury be in attendance? Turns out, she was nowhere to be seen at the event, and has seemingly never gone to Trooping the Colour. Rose has gone to numerous royal events over the years, including Charles' Coronation, Prince Philip's memorial, and the late Queen Elizabeth II's funeral. (In fact, her son Lord Oliver even played a major role at the Coronation.) But Trooping the Colour? Nothing. More from SheKnows Kate Middleton Reportedly Loves This Exfoliator So Much That She Used It On Her Wedding Day - Only $16 Now, Trooping the Colour is an annual, ceremonial military parade to mark the official birthday of the British monarch. Rose is quite close with the royal family, so it's a bit of a shocker that she wasn't there. However, eagle-eyed fans did notice that she may have thrown a party ahead of the big day, so she wasn't entirely free. Rose resides at the Houghton Hall manor in Norfolk, where she runs the Instagram account. Yesterday, the account posted a photo saying, '@houghton_walled_garden at its peak right now 💜.' Someone commented, saying, 'And we Have The big event tonight!¡!😍.' which the Hall account liked. So, what was this event? It was the Walled Garden at Dusk event, where patrons can drink and walk around the award-winning five-acre walled garden at Houghton Hall, which is one of their bestselling events. While it had nothing to do with Trooping the Colour, it did show fans that Rose has her hands full. For those who don't know, Kate and Rose have been considered best friends for years. There was a time when they weren't often together, leading many to believe there was a falling out and thus, those affair rumors started. (Keep in mind that the Rose and Prince William affair rumors were proven false time and time again, so none of that!) However, after Rose reportedly reached out to Kate amid her health problems, it seems the two reconnected. Plus, there was that time in 2023 when Kate was seen at Houghton Hall for an event. Along with that, Rose is close with Queen Camilla, so there seems to be no animosity to be found!Best of SheKnows These Celebrity Couples Reportedly Sleep in Separate Beds 12 Times Kate Middleton Honored Queen Elizabeth II By Wearing Her Jewelry Every Look Kate Middleton Has Worn to Trooping the Colour Since 2011
