Will King Charles and Prince Harry reconcile in Canada?

King Charles, along with his wife, Queen Camilla, will be embarking on a two-day trip to Canada. The royal couple will be arriving on May 26 and departing on May 27. They will be on the same continent as the Duke of Sussex, who resides in California with his wife and kids.
This fact has many well-wishers of the royal family hoping for a personal or public reconciliation between the estranged father-son duo.
However, according to experts, such reconciliation is only a dream.
"

is the king's flesh and blood, so of course he would like some sort of reconciliation with his youngest son,' said British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard to Fox News Digital.
"However, it's been over five years since Megxit, and still, Prince Harry is full of animosity.
Prince Harry has blown all trust and any reconciliation with his father and the royal family for the moment,' Chard added.
After the news of King Charles being diagnosed with cancer came out in February 2024, many thought that the ailing father would definitely reconcile with his younger son. However, with Prince Harry's public airing of their family laundry in recent times, these hopes have been dulled.
In his BBC interview, which aired on May 2nd, Harry once again publicly vocalized his disappointment with his family.

He shared how he wants reconciliation, but his father won't speak to him because of 'this security stuff,' which is a legal battle over the prince's security when in Britain. "This, at the heart of it, is a family dispute,' said the prince.

British royal expert Hilary Fordwich also added that it was always "extremely unlikely" that the king would have met with Prince Harry during his Canada visit. "Harry has destroyed any trust with his public airing of grievances in his security dispute, as this is a constitutional matter,' she explained.
King Charles cannot have a private conversation with his wayward son without the fear of Harry revealing to the media the content of such a private family discussion,' Fordwich claimed. 'There is no sign of reconciliation. Harry's statements reflect a sense of resignation regarding the lamentable state of their relationship, which remains deeply fractured.'
'Harry has willingly and knowingly caused pain and public damage via his actions, so the royal family views him as a 'loose cannon,' hence their reluctance to engage with him further,' Fordwich claimed.
'In particular, his public comments regarding his father's health and security were viewed as highly inappropriate as well as counterproductive.'
According to another expert, Shannon Felton Spence, a former British public affairs official, there are reasons other than the king's will that bar him from meeting the prince. He shared the strictness of the pre-planned visit and the king's schedule, which would not make it easy for a quick visit to the prince.
"It would set a precedent for them changing plans at the last minute,' agreed royal expert Ian Pelham Turner, adding, 'Protocol and planning are set for any overseas visit months in advance.
Unless there are extenuating circumstances, then they are set in stone.'
In his BBC interview, Harry suggested that his father was part of the problem, saying that he had asked the king 'to step out of the way and let the experts do their job.' Additionally, in his 2023 memoir Spare, he blamed his father, stepmother, and brother, creating even more bitterness and distance within the family, which shows no signs of reducing.
