Doctor's license is suspended over allegations of sexual misconduct with patient

The Iowa Board of Medicine has suspended the license of a Centerville physician accused of sexual misconduct involving a patient.
According to the board, Dr. Joshwa Tromblee 'exchanged inappropriate messages' with a female patient he first saw at MercyOne's Centerville Medical Center on Sept. 24, 2021. Tromblee was a family-medicine physician at that time.
Tromblee saw the patient again on Aug. 8, 2022, and April 3, 2023. The patient subsequently sent Tromblee a Facebook friend request, after which the two exchanged messages on Facebook and Snapchat. The exchanges included 'sexually inappropriate messages and sexually explicit pictures,' the board alleges.
Tromblee also sent the patient money on one occasion, according to the board. At some point, MercyOne reviewed Tromblee's social media exchanges with the patient and determined he had violated the standard of conduct and crossed a line by engaging in an inappropriate patient-physician relationship. He was placed on paid administrative leave on April 12, 2023, and was fired nine days later, according to the board.
Twenty-three months later – one week after Tromblee's license expired — the Board of Medicine charged Tromblee with sexual misconduct and, at the same time, agreed to a settlement to resolve the case.
The settlement entails an indefinite suspension of Tromblee's license. He is required to schedule a multidisciplinary fitness-for-duty assessment within 30 days, and to comply with any and all recommendations stemming from the evaluation.
He also is required to complete a course on professional ethics. Once reinstated, his license will be placed on probation for three years.

The teen, Landon Cangiano, and his mother, Nicole, were heartbroken. The bike belonged to Landon's father, Vinny, who died from COVID-19 complications in 2021. Nicole Cangiano posted about the stolen bicycle on Facebook, hoping that someone would see it. Then, to her surprise, the post received more than 570 shares. A woman in the Melbourne community let Nicole Cangiano know that she saw the bike. That's when Landon and his swim coach, who he was with at the time, went looking for the bike. They were able to find it, and they called the Melbourne Police Department, who helped them safely get the bike back. Florida man arrested for repeatedly stabbing shark in head as ‘revenge' for stealing fish after gory video goes viral
A Florida man claiming to be a boat captain was arrested Thursday after admitting he repeatedly stabbed a shark in the head in a Snapchat video that went viral late last month. Zane Garrett, 26, was charged with aggravated animal cruelty after gruesomely knifing a bull shark near a wreck site off Key West on May 22 in a video titled 'Bud broke my rod,' Local 10 reported. Garrett, who is identified as a captain on Second Nature Charters' website, was turned over by an anonymous tipster who saw the horrifying video and reported it to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, citing 'safety concerns,' according to the outlet. 'Yah, that's me,' Garrett admitted when authorities presented him with the gory footage. Garrett claimed that his actions fell in line with the typical method used to deter sharks from stealing catches, and that stabbing one would ward others off. 3 Garrett confirmed to authorities that he was the person captured in the video. Local 10 He later confessed to stabbing the shark numerous times in an act of 'revenge' because the predator 'had stolen his fish and was a nuisance,' according to the warrant cited by Local 10. 'I asked Mr. Garrett if he thought that the repeated blows would eventually kill the shark, to which he replied, 'No. It takes a lot more to kill a shark than stabbing it in the head,'' the document stated. He also confessed that he 'did a lot more killing' of sharks with firearms and 'has stabbed sharks and/or killed sharks without harvesting them onto his boat many times in the past.' Authorities condemned the 'egregious' slaying for causing unnecessary harm to the shark. Garrett is being held in the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Key West jail facility on a $10,000 bond. His arrangement is set for June 26.
