FORMER Sheffield Wednesday owner Milan Mandaric has jetted to England for talks to help save his old club.
The Serbian chief was in charge of the Owls between 2010 and 2015 before selling them to current owner Dejphon Chansiri for £37.5million.

Mandaric, who also previously owned Portsmouth and Leicester, has since been watching things unfurl at Hillsborough, with Chansiri no longer investing his own money amid talks of a new sale.
An American consortium boasting an ex-Premier League star, a major celebrity and several Major Baseball League stars are leading the takeover race after already having a £48m offer rejected.
They have even promised to build a new 55,000-seater stadium in a bid to become more popular in the States than Ryan Reynolds' Wrexham.
But Mandaric claims he wants to be the one to 'help' Wednesday get out of their current sticky situation.

Admitting he was 'not very happy' to leave in 2015, Mandaric slammed Chansiri for making false promises when taking over the club.
The veteran football guru insists he is now ready to return to Sheffield with a bold plan to get things back on track.
But he feels Chansiri is asking for way too much money to sell stricken Wednesday.
Mandaric told Radio Sheffield: 'He (Chansiri) gave me all the commitments in the world, that he's got the money, the desire. That he's got family there, and they all talked the same way.

'I was not very happy to leave the club, but there were circumstances - it was my time to leave. But I was kind of relaxed and relieved that he would continue to do a good job.
'He took the wrong direction, and advice, and now the club is where it is today. And who is suffering the most are those loyal supporters.
'Arrogant' Sheffield Wednesday chairman Dejphon Chansiri slammed for shoving young fan who filmed him while singing song
'It definitely needs a big rescue now, we all know that, all of us who love Sheffield Wednesday.
'I'm going to meet in London, I'm arriving there next week and I'm going to talk to some people about that, I have a plan to do so.
'I have my ex-manager who was there, Paul Aldridge, and John Redgate, who all worked for me - they know what's going on. And I want to see what could be a possibility to takeover that club.
'I would have to get involved if I'm going to bring somebody, I'd have to get involved myself - I have no problem with that.
'There are two things, you have to find the right person, but more importantly you have to have Mr. Chansiri to agree on that - and that's the difficult part.
'He doesn't want to sell it, he's asking a crazy price - he will never get over £100m as I understands… He'll be an obstacle no matter what we try to do.'

Cyriel Dessers Rangers exit deal ‘hits hitch' as Ibrox club desperate for cash to fund Russell Martin's squad rebuild
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) RANGERS are fighting to ensure AEK Athens meet their asking price for striker Cyriel Dessers. The 30-year-old is the subject of a potential transfer from Glasgow to the Greek giants. Sign up for the Rangers newsletter Sign up 1 Cyriel Dessers is on the verge of a move to AEK Athens - but talks have stalled Credit: Getty It's understood the Ibrox club's new American owners have been demanding £5million for his services. And while AEK are keen to land the striker, a report in Greece has claimed the Athens outfit are trying to lower the fee they would have to pay. That's led to a snag in talks, with Gers not willing to budge, reports Sportime. AEK Athens don't want to pay more than £3.8m (€4.5m). That would translate to a net loss for Rangers, who spent £4.5m to land the Nigerian international from Serie A side Cremonese. Naturally, Rangers want to try and make a profit on a player who, while far from perfect, was the team's top scorer last season. The hitch could slow Rangers down in their own pursuit of top targets, with the Light Blues linked to Israeli striker Dor Turgeman and veteran Premier League cult hero Jamie Vardy in recent weeks. Russell Martin is desperate for fresh faces for his summer rebuild and with the club's first Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos just a month away, the new recruitment team led by Kevin Thelwell and Dan Purdy will have to act fast. Dessers' age is a stumbling block and will be a factor when all parties are discussing potential add-ons or sell-on clauses as part of the deal. He has turned into something of a divisive figure at Ibrox despite netting 51 goals in 109 appearances for the club. Tom Stoltman wants Rangers paint job Meanwhile, Gers are hopeful of securing the signatures of winger Kwame Poku from Peterborough and full-back Max Aarons from Bournemouth. Poku, 23, would be joining on a Bosman deal for a cross-border development fee in the region of £250,000 while Aarons is understood to be under consideration as a loan option. An EFL statement read: 'In accordance with EFL regulations, the restriction will cover the entirety of this summer's window and thereafter winter 2026 and summer 2026.' The club, however, has notified the EFL of its intention to appeal the decision, which will be heard by an independent disciplinary committee. If that is unsuccessful the Yorkshire side will not be able to pay any fees until January 2027, which is sure to exasperate boss Danny Rohl, who has had a difficult relationship with the Thai owner. Wayne RooneytalkSPORT 17th Jun 2025, 23:00 By Kostas Lianos Amorim compared to Guardiola Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada cited Pep Guardiola's first season as Manchester City manager as evidence to back Old Trafford boss Ruben Amorim. It was difficult in Pep's first year. He didn't win anything and there was suspicion about whether he could implement his football vision. People said he was arrogant and wouldn't change his style of play. But Pep stuck to his principles and given what he'd won, he had an enormous amount of credit in the bank. He was allowed that first year to be below-par by his standards. The club backed him that summer, the team started winning and created this winning cycle that lasted until this season. It won't be easy. There'll be some difficult moments ahead. Nothing is going to get solved with one summer window, but we are on the right path. Can the team win the Premier League title by 2028? Of course. I firmly believe we can do it. We have two or three summer windows to build a team to start competing to win the Premier League. Nobody is saying we don't want to win it until then. We're setting ourselves a target with a specific time frame to go and aim for. It's establishing a series of targets within a timeframe so we can focus our efforts and energy on that goal. We've just finished 15th and it seems an impossible task. But why not aim for it? Why not do everything in our power?
