And his superb bogey-free second round at Royal Portrush - to go with his two-under day on Thursday - gave him the clubhouse lead when he rolled in his birdie on 18 at -8.
But when he was asked if he felt similar feelings at this stage compared to 2023, Harman joked there was one identical detail.
That is because, just like at Royal Liverpool, Harman was hauled in by the anti-doping team to check his pee - a common test for golfers as in other sports.
Harman told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I can't get too far ahead of myself.

"I've got a drug test after this, just like I did on the Friday at Liverpool.
"Hopefully the weekend works out the same."
Harman led by five shots at the midway point two years ago and ran away with it over the weekend.
He finished on -13 with a six-shot gap back to Jason Day, Tom Kim, Jon Rahm and Sepp Straka in T2.

And while the leaderboard is a lot tighter this time around in Northern Ireland, the diminutive Georgia star has a game that suits links golf and knows what it takes to get his hands on the Claret Jug.
He added: "Although the golf courses are different, the style of golf is very similar, I think.

"I'll approach the weekend the same way.
"The only thing I'm really worried about is the first tee ball tomorrow, and then I'll try to hit the next one up there close to the flag. If not, go to the second hole.
"It's a very boring approach that I take. I'm not trying to be heroic or do anything crazy.
"I know that I've got the game to do it, and it's just a matter of executing and staying in my own head.
"I love coming over here. As far as golf, it's as pure as it gets."
Harman sparked controversy in 2023 when it came to light that he was a keen hunter, dubbing him the nickname the 'Butcher of Hoylake'.
He stalks deer, wild boar and ducks back home and reckons he once wrestled an alligator with his bare hands.
Harman said: 'I'm still a big hunter, a big fisherman. I was surprised and curious why everyone was asking so many questions about it (in Hoylake).
'I didn't realise that everyone was so upset about it - but hunting, it's a hill I'll die on, I'll sleep like a baby at night.
'I'm a very compartmentalised guy, though. I'm not thinking about hunting when I'm golfing. I'm not thinking about golfing when I'm hunting.'

The bizarre moment tennis star saves a bug on the court - only for it to be SQUASHED just seconds later

Tennis star Maria Sakkari believed she had come to the rescue of a bug during her match at the Washington Open, only to see the critter squashed just moments later. The Greek player had been in action against American rival Emma Navarro in the last-16 of the event. Sakkari briefly delayed play after spotting a bug on the court, with the 29-year-old the seen bending down and carefully picking up up. The bug walked on Sakkari's hand as she calmly walked towards the back off the court, before attempting to blow it away. Sakkari eventually placed the bug down with the star hoping to have taken it away from harm as the match progressed. 'Good work from Sakkari, taking care of the local wildlife,' the commentator remarked. Maria Sakkari saves bug… bug gets SQUASHED 😭🪦 — Tennis Channel (@TennisChannel) July 23, 2025 Greek tennis star Maria Sakkari was seen picking up a bug off the court during her match The bug was briefly shown by the cameras before a ball kid's trainer squashed the critter 'Very delicately done,' they added. Footage showed, however, that the bug's reprieve was only a momentary one. As cameras lingered on it at the back of the court, a ball boy's trainer was seen stamping down and squashing it. The incident prompted surprised reactions from both Sakkari and the commentator. 'Oh dear me,' the commentator said, adding 'the ball kid didn't get the memo'. Cameras then panned around to Sakkari, who responded to the bizarre moment with smile as she quickly then switched her focus to returning Navarro's serve. Sakkari would ultimately come through the match impressively, with the wildcard earning 7-5, 7-6 win over tournament second seed Emma Navarro. The former world No 3, who reached the French Open and US Open semi-finals in 2021, will now meet Britain's Emma Raducanu in the quarter-finals. Raducanu earned an impressive 6-4 6-2 victory over former world No 1 Naomi Osaka to book her place in the last eight. The British star has met Sakkari three times in her career to date and won on each ocassion. Their most notable meeting came at the US Open in 2021, with Raducanu winning in straight sets in their semi-final. Raducanu famously went on to clinch the title, becoming the first qualifier to win a major.

How Hulk Hogan nearly competed in the first UFC competition in Australia - and why he thought AFL is better than 'boring' NFL

Hulk Hogan could have made his mark on a very different sport on Australian soil prior to his tragic death on Friday. The wrestling legend died at the age of 71 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Despite recent reassurances from his wife that his health was stable following a neck procedure, emergency responders were unable to revive him after performing CPR for 30 minutes. He was transported to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Hogan's family confirmed the news in a statement, saying he passed away surrounded by loved ones and asked the public for privacy as they grieved. Hogan's main connection to Australia stems from the Hulkamania: Let The Battle Begin tour in 2009, which included events in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. However he also mentioned considering participating in the first UFC event in 1993, which would have involved Australia, but ultimately decided against it due to concerns about the event's violence. UFC 1 launched in 1993 with stars like Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock, showcasing a no-rules tournament that stunned global audiences. Early plans to bring the event to Australia emerged soon after, with promoters eyeing the country's growing combat sports scene - and Hogan said he had looked to be involved. 'We looked at it and it was very violent and the referees weren't stopping the matches and letting guys get beat up when they should have been stopped,' he said. 'So we just didn't want to have any part of it but it's become quite a phenomena.' However, UFC co-creator Campbell McLaren later denied ever approaching Hogan. While in Australia, Hogan also took in an AFL match and was stunned at the physicality, saying he preferred to the USA's NFL. 'I wish American football was as good as Australian football,' he said at the time. 'Those young guys would eat me alive and spit me out. 'I've never seen such athletes run, take those big hits and keep getting up. 'And when I went back and watched American football, it was boring. 'Australian football is non-stop, the guys don't wear pads, they take big hits, it's amazing to watch.' Tributes flooded in from across the wrestling and political worlds, with Ric Flair, Vince McMahon and Donald Trump all paying their respects to the man who helped shape modern professional wrestling. Hogan's iconic career spanned decades, from slamming Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III to facing off against The Rock in a blockbuster 'Icon vs. Icon' match. His larger-than-life persona helped launch WWE into global prominence, with catchphrases and showmanship that defined an era. Hogan's career took a dramatic turn in 1996 when he joined WCW and formed the New World Order (NWO), reinventing himself as the villainous Hollywood Hogan. The black-and-white NWO faction, alongside Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, became one of the most influential storylines in wrestling history. At WrestleMania III, Hogan delivered one of wrestling's most iconic moments by body-slamming Andre the Giant in front of over 93,000 fans. He returned to WWE in the 2000s and headlined WrestleMania X8 against The Rock in a match billed as 'Icon vs. Icon.' Outside the ring, Hogan's life was marked by controversy, including a high-profile sex tape lawsuit, a racism scandal and an eyebrow-raising speech at the 2024 Republican National Convention. He had recently been preparing to launch a new wrestling league and TV show with Fox Nation. Hulk Hogan is survived by his wife, Sky and his children, Brooke and Nick.
