Macklemore's Seattle home reportedly robbed with his 3 children inside

Macklemore's Seattle home was reportedly robbed over the weekend while his three children were asleep in their rooms. The shocking home invasion incident unfolded shortly before 1 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, according to a police report shared with The Post by the Seattle Police Department (SPD). A woman, later identified as the homeowner's nanny, called the SPD at approximately 12:48 a.m. to report that two men had allegedly broken into the residence and sprayed her with bear mace. She told the police that she was at the house and, after putting the three children to bed in their rooms on the home's second floor, witnessed two men entering a patio door near an office, according to the officer's notes. The nanny further alleged that the two men entered the home and sprayed her with bear mace, then yelled, 'Where are the jewels, bitch?' 7 The homeowner's nanny claimed that 'the crime may have been politically motivated.' Redferns She said she led them upstairs to the main bedroom, at which point the two suspects allegedly 'went through drawers, cabinets and raided the closet full of clothing, jewelry and shoes.' The SPD, in a separate release about the incident shared on Saturday afternoon, said that the two men 'ransacked the residence, stealing thousands of dollars of items.' The nanny also claimed that she was thrown to the ground and physically assaulted by the suspects before managing to break free. 7 Police arrived at the home and found the residence in 'obvious signs of disarray.' '[She] then fled through the bathroom and out of the house,' it continued. '[She] knocked on numerous residences before someone opened the door and allowed her inside to call the police.' Getty Images Advertisement The responding officers were able to 'safely extract' the three children from the home, at which point they were handed off to family members who had arrived at the residence. 'The house was searched and checked clear of any suspects, with the three children safely extracted,' the report read. 'There were obvious signs of disarray in the portions of the house described by [redacted] to be involved and bear spray was still present in the air through portions of the house.' 'Various family members responded to the scene,' it continued. 'I escorted the family and [redacted] to the house after the scene was rendered safe and the house was searched. The family members took custody of the children for the evening and took them to a safe residence nearby.' The Post has reached out to Macklemore's reps for comment.

German police commissioner: AfD membership incompatible with service

Germany's Federal Police Commissioner Uli Grötsch has voiced opposition to police officers being members of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, calling it "incompatible" with serving in law enforcement. "AfD membership and working as a police officer are incompatible," Grötsch told the Rheinische Post newspaper in remarks published late on Monday. The former Social Democrat (SPD) lawmaker added that officers who demonstrate clear commitment to the AfD should be dismissed. "For me, commitment means openly supporting the party, running for local or city council or even for the Bundestag," he said. Grötsch pointed to a recent decision by Germany's domestic intelligence agency to classify the AfD as a "confirmed right-wing extremist" organization in early May, saying there was concrete evidence that the party pursued efforts that threaten Germany's free democratic order. However, the agency then suspended the classification, which would have granted it broader surveillance powers over the party, while the AfD pursues legal action. Pending a ruling from the Cologne administrative court, the agency will continue to treat the party as a "suspected" extremist case. The anti-immigration AfD is the strongest opposition force in parliament after coming second in February's elections.

Deadly Wallingford fire now being investigated as arson-related homicide

A 72-year-old woman was pulled from a house fire in Wallingford last week, and succumbed to her injuries. Now, police are investigating her death as an 'arson-related homicide.' On June 4, around 1 a.m., dozens of Seattle Fire Department crews were called to a home on Sunnyside Avenue N, a few blocks away from Lake Union. A home and a tree were on fire, and Seattle Fire crews found a woman inside, on the ground, and within a few feet of the doorway while fighting the fire. They pulled her out and began working to revive her. She was taken to Harborview Medical Center where she later died form her injuries. SPD's Arson-Bomb Squad was initially assigned to this case. They learned that someone had left the scene before first responders arrived. Investigators determined that the cause of the fire was not accidental. If anyone has information on this fire, call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000. You can be anonymous.
