Pupils from Craigton had come out on top in the girls' section of the annual football tournament, whilst students from St Saviour's were crowned winners of the boys' section.
It came after more than 20 teams – from primary schools in and around Govan – faced off at the Ibrox Community Complex on June 4.

The winning teams were then presented with medals and trophies at Edmiston House before celebrating on an open-top bus as part of the Govan Fair parade.
The Glasgow Times was invited to chat with players from each team to find out how they were feeling.

Thomas Rouse, 11, revealed how the St Saviour's team had trained for the tournament.
He said: 'We did lots of training and put in lots of dedication. I've been playing football for nearly my whole life.
'I am absolutely buzzing, and our friends said they were proud of us.'

Meanwhile, Stephen Barrie explained how he felt as his team lifted the trophy at Edmiston House.
The 12-year-old added: 'I've been playing football since I was one year old and this was brilliant, absolutely brilliant.
'We did lots of exercise and lots of running about to get fit.'

Lynne Neilson, principal teacher at St Saviour's, told of her joy as this was the first time in 'almost a decade' that the school had taken the trophy home.
She commented: 'I'm feeling fantastic. We've been training the team, and it's been about nine years since we've won, so the boys are absolutely buzzing.
'The fact that it's a Govan school that has won the boys' tournament is a big deal for us, everyone's delighted.'
Ahead of the bus starting to follow the parade route – leaving from Fairley Street and finishing on Arklet Road – members of Craigton PS's winning team expressed their excitement.

Hala Al Bweidane, 11, explained she was feeling proud.
She said: 'I've been playing football for about a year now and competed in the Cup last year. We won in another tournament, and we learned so much from that.
'I am really proud of myself.'
Kayla Abraham, 12, added that the team had lots of fun on the day.
She added: 'I got a late notice to take part, and I knew I wanted to go. I've been playing football my whole life.
'I am very excited to be on the open-top bus, it's brilliant.'

Emily Penrice told of how she has not been playing the sport for long but was excited to be a part of the winning team.
She commented: 'I'm just happy to be here. I haven't been playing for that long. We're excited and happy.'
The Govan Fair Cup was taken over by the Govan Youth Information Project (GYIP) four years ago.
At that time, the group had promised to make the event 'better' each year.

John Aitken, project worker at GYIP, highlighted the importance of the tournament and how he believes it truly showcases 'what Govan is known for'.

He stated: 'I feel really good because we've kept our promise that when we took it over, we would make it better each year.
'I think we've done that by adding extra schools, the live cup draw and presentation at Edmiston House.
'I think the full GYIP team deserve a pat on the back. The youngsters might have never had an event like this unless they went to professional football.
'Even taking part in a big football tournament like that, not all kids like organised football, so doing that with their school can be pretty special to them.
'It's really just about them having fun and gaining new experiences. It's about the wider community getting together and pulling together, which is what Govan is known for.'

Man Utd kicked while they're down by Leeds legend - 'Really, really poor!'

Stuart Dallas has given his opinion of Manchester United after the club suffered a record-low 15th-place finish in the Premier League and missed out on the Europa League title to Tottenham Stuart Dallas has said that Manchester United have been "really, really poor" this season, as the Red Devils lick their wounds from a devastating 2024/25 campaign. New boss Ruben Amorim was unable to turn the tide at Old Trafford after taking over from Erik ten Hag in November, guiding the club to a record-low 15th-place finish in the Premier League standings. While the Red Devils looked to save an otherwise catastrophic campaign via better performances in Europe, a 1-0 loss to a similarly struggling Tottenham Hotspur in last month's Europa League final only served as further embarrassment for the once-titans of English football. And now Dallas, who made a name for himself with Leeds United between 2015 and 2024, has given his synopsis as to what is going on at Old Trafford at present. Speaking exclusively to Mirror Football at the Leeds American Golf for the #RifeDontMiss putting challenge, he said: "It's mad as well to think that, isn't it? "The two clubs together are so far down the league. Spurs have obviously been decimated with injuries. It's been really, really difficult for them. "Their style of play, on their day when it clicks, they're a really, really good team. You can see what their DNA is, but Man Utd, on the other hand, I'm still yet to be convinced of what their actual DNA is. I don't see any change from a couple of things, but in general it's been really, really poor for them." Dallas also pondered whether a Europa League title was enough to argue that Spurs have had a successful season, given that the Lilywhites finished two places lower than United in the Premier League standings. He added: "It's mad to think that they were both European finalists as well and Spurs have obviously come out on top. "I don't know, is it a successful season for Tottenham? They've won the European Cup and they've got Champions League football. It's bragging rights over Arsenal. " Arsenal have obviously had a fantastic season. They've come second, but they haven't won a Cup and they're in the Champions League. Spurs have won a Cup and are in the Champions League." Spurs are currently on the hunt for a new manager in the wake of parting ways with Ange Postecoglou earlier this month, with Brentford boss Thomas Frank looking increasingly likely to take tenure at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for 2025/26. Manchester United, meanwhile, are currently undergoing major revamps to their current squad with hopes that a summer transfer window and a full pre-season campaign can be a game-changer for Amorim. The Red Devils have already struck a £62.5million deal for Wolves forward Matheus Cunha in the first of two windows, as they continue to look to sign Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo. United reportedly saw their initial £55m bid for Mebeumo rejected, but reports suggest that the club are still keen on landing the talent this summer. Elsewhere, the club are also currently linked with the likes of Sporting CP star Viktor Gyokeres and Barcelona shot stopper Marc-Andre ter Stegen. On the flip side, the club recently announced that Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof are among the stars on their way out the doors of Old Trafford as their contracts expire. Dallas was speaking exclusively to Mirror Football at the second #RifeDontMiss Challenge, celebrating the launch of the new RIFE Black Edition putters. Celtic warned over Brendan Rodgers succession plan as Treble winner predicts next move for Ange

Ramon Vega played for the Hoops and Spurs and shared his thoughts on both clubs' managerial situation Brendan Rodgers' future is in his own hands. The all-conquering Celtic boss has a major decision to make over the coming weeks and months. ‌ Entering the final year of his Hoops contract, he must now weigh up whether to extend his stay beyond next summer - or walk away on his own terms. ‌ The Irishman knows exactly how it works in this part of the world. Silence breeds speculation. And the longer Rodgers keeps his cards close to his chest, the louder the noise around him will grow. Should this season be his swansong, Parkhead chiefs will have ample time to draw up a succession plan. And in that case, supporters will be hoping Dermot Desmond still has Ange Postecoglou on speed dial. That is, of course, if the Europa League -winning boss is still out of work this time next year. Former Celtic and Tottenham defender Ramon Vega hasn't been shy in venting his disgust at controversial owner Daniel Levy's decision to bin the manager who ended the North London club's agonising 17-year trophy drought. Vega - who lifted a Treble during a brief stint in Glasgow in 2001 - believes Spurs have made a huge mistake and insists Postecoglou won't be short of suitors. But for Celtic fans dreaming of a second era of Angeball from 2026/27 onwards, Vega isn't so sure. In an exclusive interview with Record Sport, he said: "Listen, from my point of view, some very, very top teams will go for him. "Once you understand the difficulty of managing a team like Spurs, and winning a Cup after 17 years, you realise this man is a winner and can create something special. He just needs to be supported in the right way. ‌ "In one way, it's actually good for him, because the toxicity we had at Spurs - I don't think that would be good for him anyway. He deserves much better than this, and much bigger as well. "And I think, mark my words, he will go to a bigger level. If he can go to Celtic, it's always nice because he's been there already. ‌ "Will he go there in one year's time? I think he might be snapped up beforehand by somebody." Globe-trotting Postecoglou has already coached in Australia, Greece, Japan, Scotland and England. So, will he tick another country off the list? Vega, 53, added: "I think he'll stay in the Premier League – there's no doubt at all. I'll be very surprised if he's not landed in the Premier League by the beginning of the new season. ‌ "Or even a top European team. But again, I'd be very, very surprised if he's not in the Premier League. I'd say the top eight or ten teams for certain – if not even higher. I can see a few who would take him instantly. "Everybody forgets how interesting Spurs were at the beginning – how he played offensive, attacking football compared to Antonio Conte and all these guys who were very defensive, very boring." If Postecoglou does opt for a 12-month sabbatical, the stars may just align for a sensational return to Paradise. ‌ Rodgers himself came back to finish what many thought was unfinished business, with European progress a major motivation. Whether Big Ange - who won five out of six trophies - would have the same fire remains to be seen. ‌ Asked if the Aussie has more to achieve in Glasgow, Vega said: "With Celtic, yes. But don't forget, Celtic is a different ball game from Spurs. He went into the Champions League - that's a completely different tournament. But at the same time, he's put down a marker now. "He did a good job for Celtic, and he's done a really remarkable job winning a trophy with Spurs. If he goes back, he'll return with serious Premier League experience. That would bring massive added value to Celtic in Europe. "Celtic and Champions League nights – they're among the best in the world. Just Celtic is Celtic." ‌ Despite spending just six months at Parkhead, the big Swiss admits Celts left a lasting impression. Comparing the pressures at both clubs, he said: "Spurs is always a difficult club to play for. You might be successful, you might not. I won the League Cup there - so I did something. But you never felt a unity or emotional attachment. "When I came to Celtic, it was the fans - the way they embrace you straight away - and also the way of the club and Glasgow. The respect that's given is just inspiring as a player. It gives you that extra 20, 30 per cent to play better. ‌ "And I think that's the difference. It's not just about technical ability as a coach or player. It's how you create an atmosphere that makes sure the whole club - from the chairman to the person making tea - is pulling in the same direction. "Everybody is a family, part of the family. And you felt that at Celtic at the time, and at Spurs, you don't have that. "It's like, at Spurs as a club, you know it's just passed by, through it. Maybe you're successful, but most likely it's not the end club, it's going to be somewhere else there afterwards."
