Pupils from Craigton had come out on top in the girls' section of the annual football tournament, whilst students from St Saviour's were crowned winners of the boys' section.
It came after more than 20 teams – from primary schools in and around Govan – faced off at the Ibrox Community Complex on June 4.

Thomas Rouse, 11, revealed how the St Saviour's team had trained for the tournament.
He said: 'We did lots of training and put in lots of dedication. I've been playing football for nearly my whole life.
'I am absolutely buzzing, and our friends said they were proud of us.'

Meanwhile, Stephen Barrie explained how he felt as his team lifted the trophy at Edmiston House.

Lynne Neilson, principal teacher at St Saviour's, told of her joy as this was the first time in 'almost a decade' that the school had taken the trophy home.
She commented: 'I'm feeling fantastic. We've been training the team, and it's been about nine years since we've won, so the boys are absolutely buzzing.
'The fact that it's a Govan school that has won the boys' tournament is a big deal for us, everyone's delighted.'
Ahead of the bus starting to follow the parade route – leaving from Fairley Street and finishing on Arklet Road – members of Craigton PS's winning team expressed their excitement.

Hala Al Bweidane, 11, explained she was feeling proud.
She said: 'I've been playing football for about a year now and competed in the Cup last year. We won in another tournament, and we learned so much from that.
'I am really proud of myself.'
Kayla Abraham, 12, added that the team had lots of fun on the day.
She added: 'I got a late notice to take part, and I knew I wanted to go. I've been playing football my whole life.
'I am very excited to be on the open-top bus, it's brilliant.'

Emily Penrice told of how she has not been playing the sport for long but was excited to be a part of the winning team.
She commented: 'I'm just happy to be here. I haven't been playing for that long. We're excited and happy.'
The Govan Fair Cup was taken over by the Govan Youth Information Project (GYIP) four years ago.
At that time, the group had promised to make the event 'better' each year.

John Aitken, project worker at GYIP, highlighted the importance of the tournament and how he believes it truly showcases 'what Govan is known for'.

He stated: 'I feel really good because we've kept our promise that when we took it over, we would make it better each year.
'I think we've done that by adding extra schools, the live cup draw and presentation at Edmiston House.
'I think the full GYIP team deserve a pat on the back. The youngsters might have never had an event like this unless they went to professional football.
'Even taking part in a big football tournament like that, not all kids like organised football, so doing that with their school can be pretty special to them.
'It's really just about them having fun and gaining new experiences. It's about the wider community getting together and pulling together, which is what Govan is known for.'

‘It's a privilege': Belfast Giants turn to familiar face as club appoint new captain to succeed Mark Cooper
The 33-year-old is the most successful captain in the club's history after winning five trophies in his two seasons wearing the 'C', including leading them to the Grand Slam in the 2022/23 season. Goodwin relinquished the captaincy following the treble campaign having departed the club, handing the reins over to good friend Mark Cooper, but has resumed the role following Cooper's retirement this off-season. 'It is a privilege to be named captain of the Belfast Giants. Leading this great club is a responsibility and opportunity that I take to heart. I look forward to doing my part in bringing more trophies back to the great city of Belfast,' commented Goodwin. The St Louis native first joined the Giants midway through the 2019/20 season which was ultimately shortened due to the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, but returned following the resumption of the Elite League in 2021 when he was named captain for the first time. In his five seasons with the Giants, Goodwin has scored 79 goals and 266 points in 230 games by forming a dynamic line with Scott Conway and J.J. Piccinich, and has lifted seven trophies in total with the team. The latter two trophies came last season after the former Penn State star re-joined the team in January after taking some time away from the game, proved to be his most successful in Belfast, Goodwin proving to be a massive boost as the team regained their League title and clinched another Cup crown. 'Goody has proven himself to be a great captain and leader of this team. He has captained us to a treble championship and completely understands what it takes to win as a group and what it means to be a Belfast Giant. He embodies everything we look for in a leader,' added Keefe.

ITV Racing tips: Ascot, Haydock and Newmarket, Saturday August 9

While it's impossible to know whether he retains his ability, encouragement can be taken from his connections persevering with him and the Crisford stable tends to have their runners fit. Vespasian was progressive over 5f and 6f up the Meydan straight in Dubai in early 2024 and this stiff test over the minimum distance looks like suiting him ideally. 2.10 Ascot – Shergar Cup Stayers Handicap (Class 2, 2m; ITV1 & Sky Sports Racing) The Irish-trained LA VITA NOVA was a little disappointing at Down Royal last time, but she had earlier run well to be placed in two competitive staying handicaps at the Curragh. If she can run at that sort of level now, she will go well. The four-year-old filly is trained by Jessica Harrington – who had the winner of this race two years ago – and will be suited by the forecast fast ground. Cheekpieces are added. 2.25 Haydock – Dick Hern Stakes (Listed, 1m; ITV1 & Racing TV) Ed Walker's NEVER LET GO is taken to follow up her success over this trip in the Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot in this fillies' event. That form has since been boosted, with the runner-up finishing second in a Listed race next time out and the third winning a Group 3 contest at Goodwood. 2.45 Ascot – Shergar Cup Challenge Handicap (Class 2, 1m 4f; ITV1 & Sky Sports Racing) DRAMATIC STAR has been off since October but he is still with the highly respected Willam Haggas so probably has more to give. This four-year-old son of Sea The Stars was last seen winning a Class 2 handicap at Newcastle. His dam, Dramatic Queen, progressed to win a 1m 6f Group 3 race for the same connections. Selection: Dramatic Star 1pt win @ 9/2 with Betfred Go to site > 3.00 Haydock – Rose of Lancaster Stakes (Group 3, 1m 2½f; ITV1 & Racing TV) It's hard to know why DETAIN was below form at Royal Ascot, finishing down the field when second favourite for the Group 3 Hampton Court Stakes. He had earlier shown smart form. John and Thady Gosden's runner defeated subsequent Grade 2 winner Luther at Chelmsford on his seasonal reappearance, then finished sixth in the French 2,000 Guineas and third in the French Derby. In the latter he finished narrowly ahead of Trinity College, who subsequently won the Hampton Court. Detain has had seven weeks to get back on track and a return to form will see him go well. 3.20 Ascot – Shergar Cup Sprint Handicap (Class 2, 6f; ITV1 & Sky Sports Racing) This is a decent three-year-old sprint and PRINCE OF INDIA, a horse on the up, appeals most. Marco Botti's runner won well at Newmarket last time out, landing a good 6f handicap for three-year-olds in which he reversed earlier Leicester form with Hucklesbrook. Given that the selection's win three starts ago came over 7f, a stiff test at this shorter trip is good for him. 3.40 Newmarket – Sweet Solera Stakes (Group 3, 7f; ITV1 & Racing TV) DANCE TO THE MUSIC has presumably had an issue, having been sidelined since her winning debut in a 6f novice contest at Newmarket's Rowley Mile course in May. The Charlie Appleby-trained runner missed last month's Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot with a vet's certificate, but she is still of interest in this two-year-old fillies' contest. Her debut form is useful – she had Midnight Tango, who goes in this race, behind her in fourth – and she is a sister to the same connections' top-level winner Space Blues. In addition her dam, Miss Lucifer, won a Group 2 race at Newmarket. 3.55 Ascot – Shergar Cup Classic Handicap (Class 3, 1m 4f; ITV1 & Sky Sports Racing) This is another decent handicap for three-year-olds at Ascot, this time the middle-distance runners, and MDAWI might be the answer. Charlie Johnston's contender has a fantastic pedigree, being by leading sire Wootton Bassett and out of multiple top-level winner Peeping Fawn, and he has been progressing. He was below form at Goodwood last Friday, but he had finished a good second there just two days earlier. This is another quick turnaround for him, but he's seemingly pretty tough – and an ordinary mark of 80 probably isn't the ceiling of his ability. 4.30 Ascot – Shergar Cup Mile Handicap (Class 2, 1m; ITV1 & Sky Sports Racing) There's a lack of unexposed runners in the closing race, but EBT'S GUARD has recently run well in defeat in some big handicaps, finishing seventh of 30 in the Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot, fifth in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket and second in last week's Golden Mile at Goodwood. This may prove a winnable opportunity for the William Muir and Chris Grassick-trained runner. Selection: Ebt's Guard 1pt win @ 5/1 with Betfred Go to site > Free-to-view racing coverage ITV4 – 9.30-10.30am: The Opening Show ITV1 – 1.00-5.00pm: Live racing from Ascot (Shergar Cup), Haydock and Newmarket Saturday's UK and Irish racing Flat Ascot (1.35-4.30, Sky Sports Racing) The Curragh (1.45-5.40, Racing TV) Newmarket (1.55-4.50, Racing TV) Redcar (2.02-5.00, Racing TV) Haydock (2.25-5.55, Racing TV) Lingfield (5.12-7.52, Sky Sports Racing) Ayr (5.35-8.42, Racing TV) Jumps Kilbeggan (5.27-8.30, Racing TV) Is there anything else of interest on Saturday? Absolutely. For starters, there's the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh (4.00). Ryan Moore is in Ireland to partner Coventry Stakes winner Gstaad, though he's up against stablemate True Love (Wayne Lordan), a filly who won the Queen Mary, then beat male rivals in Railway Stakes. There are also two Grade 1s in the US at Arlington and Saratoga. William Buick is off to upstate New York to ride Charlie Appleby's Nations Pride in the Sword Dancer, while Appleby also runs El Cordobes (Flavien Prat) in the Saratoga race. 'All it took was losing 1-0 at home to Bolton'
You have been sharing your stories and photos about why you love is a final selection of your submissions, but do make sure you scroll down this page to see all the best responses from throughout the week: Harold: My first Palace game was in the 2004-05 season against Bolton Wanderers, played at home. I was taken by a friend and his dad who supported Arsenal and Tottenham respectively but had managed to get Palace season tickets that year. Earlier in the same season I'd been taken to a Millwall home game by my godfather, who supported Millwall - an effort to woo me to the wrong side of south turns out that about 10 years before that, my dad had taken my mum to watch Palace against Sheffield Wednesday, in the away end, supporting Wednesday, as their first date!Among a host of clubs that could have been chosen that year, I fell in love with Palace and was proud of them as my local club, having grown up in West Norwood. That pride only gets all it took was losing 1-0 at home to Bolton! Dave: Like so many, I fell in love with Crystal Palace after watching the 1990 FA Cup final. Seeing Ian Wright score those amazing goals and the team's kit caught my eye with the iconic "Fly to LA" shirts. My dad used to take me to Palace's away games in the Midlands against Stoke City as this is where we lived. Palace always did well and I'd have to sit on my hands and not celebrate as we always scored against Stoke. But inside I was bursting with pride. They will always be my team.
