Coldplay concert scandal erupts as tech CEO faces internal probe

Astronomer has launched an internal investigation after a viral video surfaced appearing to show CEO Andy Byron embracing the company's Chief Human Resources Officer Kristin Cabot during a Coldplay concert this week.
The clip, captured on the Jumbotron during the band's concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., on Wednesday, July 16, shows Byron and Cabot in an intimate moment before abruptly pulling away when they realized they were on camera.
The video has amassed more than 68 million views on TikTok and sparked widespread speculation about their relationship. It even drew a stunned reaction from Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin.
'Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy,' the singer of the British band quipped to the crowd. 'I hope we didn't do something bad.'

In response, Astronomer's board issued an official statement on Friday, July 18, following the circulation of several fake statements falsely attributed to Byron that popped up on social media.
'Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding,' said the data software company, which has offices in San Francisco and San Jose. 'Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability. The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly.'
The company denied reports that Byron had issued an apology, calling those statements — several of which included Coldplay lyrics — fabricated.
'Andy Byron has not put out any statement, reports saying otherwise are all incorrect,' it said.

Astronomer also clarified that no other employees were featured in the video and that Chief Operating Officer Alyssa Stoddard was not present at the concert, despite online speculation.
Byron has served as CEO of the New York-based data orchestration platform since 2023. He has two children with his wife, educator Megan Kerrigan Byron, who deleted her social media accounts following the incident. He also deleted his LinkedIn account on Thursday, July 17.

Sarah Jessica Parker bids farewell to Carrie Bradshaw after And Just Like That... ending announcement

Sarah Jessica Parker has penned an emotional goodbye to Carrie Bradshaw after it was revealed that And Just Like That... is coming to an end. The 60-year-old actress posted a clip montage of her character's best moments on Instagram after it was confirmed on Friday (01.08.25) that the Sex and the City sequel series will conclude later this month after three seasons. Sarah - who first played the part of Carrie back in 1998 - captioned her post: "Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all. "I know others have loved her just as I have. Been frustrated, condemned and rooted for her. The symphony of all those emotions has been the greatest soundtrack and most consequential companion. Therefore the most sentimental and profound gratitude and lifetime of debt. To you all." Sarah's co-star Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte York Goldenblatt in the show, stated that she is "profoundly sad" that the HBO Max series is ending. She wrote in her own Instagram post: "I am profoundly sad. I love our whole beautiful cast and crew. 400 artisans working so hard on our show with deep love. And to our loyal fans, we love you forever and ever." Cynthia Nixon - who portrays Miranda Hobbes - added: "I can't believe our wild, beautiful And Just Like That... ride is almost over. "It has been such a delight from start to finish. I will miss working with these people everyday SO incredibly much but know we will always be a part of each other's lives. Get ready for a lot more carousels in the weeks to come! And don't miss these last few episodes: surprises in store!" Showrunner Michael Patrick King confirmed that the series will be ending on August 14 following the two-part finale to series three and explained that the team "held off" announcing the news as they didn't want to "overshadow the fun" for audiences watching the final season. He said: "And just like that... the ongoing storytelling of the Sex and the City universe is coming to an end. While I was writing the last episode of And Just Like That... season three, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop. "Along with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey, we decided to end the popular series this year with a two-part finale and extended the original series order from 10 episodes to 12. "SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn't want the word 'final' to overshadow the fun of watching the season. It's with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years."

Tom Holland Plays Coy About James Bond Casting Rumors: 'There's Speculation'

If there's any truth to rumors that Tom Holland is in the running to play James Bond, he's keeping it top-secret for now. As the BAFTA winner returns to one major franchise with Friday's Spider-Man: Brand New Day teaser, he recently commented on 'speculation' that he's up for the coveted part in the Denis Villeneuve-helmed update of the franchise. More from Deadline Next James Bond Pic At Amazon MGM Studios To Be Penned By Steven Knight Tom Holland's 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' Costume Gets Teaser: 'Something Brand New Is Coming' Steven Knight Describes James Bond Writing Gig As "Bucket List" Project In First Interview Since Announcement 'Listen, there's speculation at the minute. We'll keep it to a minimum for now,' he said in a video on Gordon Ramsay's YouTube. 'We'll get there one day.' Holland added, 'Every young British actor, it's the pinnacle of working in our industry. I already consider myself to be the luckiest kid alive. I could never have dreamed to have the career that I've had.' Daniel Craig played the iconic role in Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015) and No Time to Die (2021). Following previous Bond stars Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan, Craig's successor has not yet been chosen. In June, Amazon MGM Studios officially tapped Villeneuve to direct the next installment, and this week, Steven Knight was announced to write the film amid the studio's new 007 partnership with returning producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson. Tanya Lapointe will executive produce. After announcing that Amy Pascal and David Heyman will produce the next film in the franchise, Amazon MGM's Courtenay Valenti and Sue Kroll said at CinemaCon in April that the pair of 'filmmaking legends' is currently in London working on the film. 'We are committed to honoring the legacy of this iconic character, while bringing a fresh, exhilarating new chapter to audiences around the world alongside Amy and David,' said Valenti, head of Film, Streaming and Theatrical. 'They are both in London getting started and couldn't be here tonight, but we wanted to thank them for what we know will be an incredible partnership. Thank you, Amy and David!'
