Large fire breaks out across several barns at farm
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said eight engines were attending the blaze at Cherry Tree Farm in Metfield, south-east of Harleston in Norfolk, after it started at about 01:45 BST.
Group commander Gary Smart said crews were due to remain at the scene for several hours and urged people living nearby to close their windows.
The blaze comes a day after the fire service issued public advice about wildfires, due to the hot conditions.
Mr Smart said: "We believe the site produces horse bedding – a mix of straw and wood shavings.
"It was quite a large developing fire that had potential to spread to the standing crops in the next field."
He added that due to the structural integrity of the buildings, crews had not been able to get inside to remove the burning items.
The fire service said there was limited water supply at the farm, so it had brought in a water carrier as well as specialist aerial appliances.
Mr Smart added the high temperatures had made it tough for his team and companies storing flammable materials.
"It's difficult for business owners as it's very dry and things can ignite easily," he said.
"It's very difficult for the crews. We make sure they're fully hydrated and have rest periods to release some of the heat that builds up in their uniform."

Monsoon moisture brings scattered rain chances over the next 24 hours
SALT LAKE CITY () — Happy Friday, Utah! Scattered clouds and showers will be on the uptick around the Beehive state for our Friday afternoon. The best concentration of shower activity will be for areas east of I-15. Gusty 'outflow' winds and very dry air will combine to lead to an elevated fire danger for most of northern and western Utah. High temperatures will warm into the mid 90s for the Wasatch Front, and highs will climb near 100 for SW Utah. Friday will hold the best chance for seeing pockets of heavier rainfall for areas south of I-70. We do have marginal risk for isolated flash flooding from our southern Utah recreating spots. Temperatures may begin to cool slightly back into the mid 90s across northern Utah, and near 100 for SW Utah through the upcoming weekend. The isolated storm chance will extend into our Saturday, but we should be mainly dry for our Sunday. The typical high pressure, heat dome rebuilds across Utah moving into next week. This will mean plenty of sunshine for most of the week along with temperatures warming back well above average. Highs will likely be around 100 for the Wasatch Front and 105+ again for SW Utah by late-next week. King Fire prompts evacuations in California
Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Evacuation warnings have been issued after a brush fire burning in California. The fire has been dubbed King Fire, it broke out at 1 a.m. PDT and grew to 490 acres along the 5 freeway between Gorman and Pyramid Lake, prompting two northbound lanes to close. The lanes have been reopened but drivers were cautioned to drive safely in the area. The fire is 5% contained, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Firefighters' main concern is that it does not spread to the south or cross the 5 freeway, John Miller, Public Information Officer for the U.S. The Forest Service said. West of Interstate 5, North of Highway 138, South of Highway 139 and east of Old Ridge Route road, and East of Interstate 5 in the Paradise Ranch Area have all been issued evacuation warnings. The cause of the fire is unknown. Solve the daily Crossword
