Cowboys Sign Packers Ex Cornerback as Free Agent
Cowboys Sign Packers Ex Cornerback as Free Agent originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Another defensive back from the Green Bay Packers is on the move.
Mere hours after Jaire Alexander signed with the Baltimore Ravens, sources confirm cornerback Robert Rochell has agreed to terms with the Dallas Cowboys on a free-agent contract.

Rochell joins the Cowboys after the team suffered a litany of injuries at the position last season. This year, they may continue to face difficulties in that regard.
Trevon Diggs is rehabbing another knee surgery with a hopeful return aimed at mid-season. Third-round pick Shavon Revel Jr. is recovering from an ACL tear, but he should be back on the field during training camp. Josh Butler has also been sidelined this offseason with an injury.
Rochell, however, may have his best shot at making the Cowboys roster as a special teams ace.
The former fourth-round pick in 2021 has seen limited action on defense throughout his four-year career. He started with the Los Angeles Rams where he saw five cornerback starts as a rookie but totaled just 14 tackles on the season.

The next three years he has seen action strictly on special teams. Last year in particular, he played just one snap on defense for the Packers. He appeared in 41% of Green Bay's special teams snaps in 2024.
Rochell will have to make a major impact in Oxnard to be considered for a 53-man spot, but he could be granted enough opportunities on the field to do so amid Dallas' limited availability.
Worth noting, Dallas re-signed another special teamer in longtime Cowboy and emergency DB C.J. Goodwin earlier this offseason.
The Cowboys' front office is leaving no stone unturned in regard to their defensive back depth ahead of training camp.

Photograph: Jayde Chamberlain/SPP/Shutterstock Sophie Ingle has been included in the 23-member Wales squad for Euro 2025 in Switzerland after winning a race against time and recovering from the anterior cruciate ligament rupture sustained last September. That knee injury sidelined the much-decorated 33-year-old midfielder, who will leave Chelsea this summer, for the entire domestic season but her return to fitness represents a significant boost to Welsh hopes of exceeding expectations in their first major tournament. Although now 38, Fishlock is still going strong in the United States at Seattle Reign and, as the undoubted star of the team, cannot be underestimated by even the best opponents. She and Ingle will be joined by her Reign teammate Angharad James, the Wales captain, in a formidable-looking midfield. The trio hold 432 international caps. It also helps that Wilkinson, who is half-Welsh, is no tactical slouch. The 43-year-old former 183-cap Canada defender managed Portland Thorns to the NWSL title in the US in 2022 and served as a highly regarded assistant coach with Canada's and England's women. Squad announcements can rarely have been so innovative, or camera-friendly. On Sunday the players will fly to Portugal for a week's training on the Algarve before arriving at their base in Lipperswil in north-east Switzerland, between Zurich and St Gallen and close to Lake Constance. With more than 2,000 Wales fans attending the team's matches in Lucerne (against the Netherlands) and St Gallen (against France and England), the tournament's lowest-ranked side are poised to be among the best-supported teams in Switzerland.

WNBA Makes Stephanie White Decision Over Controversial Official Comments
WNBA Makes Stephanie White Decision Over Controversial Official Comments originally appeared on Athlon Sports. With Caitlin Clark back in the lineup, Stephanie White and the Indiana Fever improved to 6-5 on the 2025 WNBA season by defeating the Connecticut Sun, 88-71, on Tuesday night. Advertisement But the game didn't come without a lot of controversy with six technical fouls, two flagrant fouls and three ejections handed out. It started midway through the third quarter when Clark took a shot to the face from Sun guard Jacy Sheldon. The former Iowa Hawkeyes standout retaliated with a slight shove before Marina Mabrey came to Sheldon's defense, knocking Clark to the floor. Both teams started to get involved before they separated. In the final minute of the fourth quarter, Sophie Cunningham committed a hard foul on Sheldon during a fast-break layup attempt, sparking another scuffle that led to three ejections. Advertisement "There wasn't an explanation for the technical [Clark] got," White said. "I think it was pretty obvious that stuff was brewing. When the officials don't get control of the ball game, when they allow that stuff to happen, and it has been happening all season long. All season long. It's not just this game, it has been happening all season long. This is what happens!" White had commented on the WNBA officials previously this season, receiving a hefty fine in return. However, this time around, the WNBA has elected not to fine White for her remarks, per Front Office Sports' Annie Costabile. While White will not receive a second fine, Cunningham was fined for her hard foul in the final minute. Mabrey's shove on Clark was upgraded to a flagrant 2, and every player who received a technical will be fined $200. Advertisement White and the Fever will look to make it three straight wins in their next game on Thursday night, facing Kate Martin and the Golden State Valkyries in San Francisco. The game begins at 10 p.m. ET and will be streamed on Amazon Prime. However, that was far from the only serious incident of the night, which has had fans and analysts criticizing the league and its referees over the past 24 hours for failure to control the game. In response, the WNBA levied several fines against multiple perpetrators on both teams, though decided not to suspend any of the players involved.
