Taylor Swift's 20-Year Career To Be Explored In New Channel 4 Series

News1822-07-2025
Channel 4 announced a two-part documentary on Taylor Swift, titled Taylor, exploring her career, transformation, and cultural impact.
A new two-part documentary series centred around global music icon Taylor Swift has been officially announced by Channel 4. Titled Taylor (working title), the project promises to offer a closer look into the pop sensation's two-decade-long career and her rise to cultural prominence.
The series aims to unpack the complexities of Swift's transformation from a teenage country singer to one of the most influential and highest-grossing artists of all time. Channel 4 confirmed the project following months of speculation, calling Swift a 'global phenomenon" and promising a fresh take through rare archival material, commentary from insiders, and perspectives from fans and experts alike.
'Taylor Swift is an unprecedentedly powerful 21st century voice for women and young people," said director Guy King. 'Under the microscope of social media since the earliest days of MySpace and Tumblr, she came of age during a new feminist wave. With her fame came controversy, which she so skilfully wrestled to the floor. We're excited to tell her story."
The documentary, produced by Sandpaper Films (known for A Deadly American Marriage), is being helmed by King, whose past credits include The Fall and Bombing Brighton. Jessica Brady serves as the producer, with Lina Caicedo on board as archive producer. Executive producers include Susannah Price and Henry Singer, while BAFTA-winning editor Martin Thompson is leading post-production. Blue Ant International will handle global sales.
Channel 4's exploration of Swift's journey comes in the wake of her record-breaking Eras Tour and the critical success of her Netflix documentary Miss Americana. With over 20 years in the music industry, Swift has earned widespread acclaim and become the first billionaire whose fortune is primarily built on music.
The series will examine not only the highs and lows of her public life but also the loyal fanbase she's cultivated and the broader impact she's had on the music industry and popular culture.

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 Plot Revealed: Mihir-Tulsi's Happy Marriage Faces New Storm

Amar Upadhyay shares how Mihir and Tulsi will tackle the younger generation in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, premiering tonight. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 premieres tonight (July 29) at 10:30 pm, and anticipation is sky-high as Smriti Irani returns as Tulsi Virani. Alongside her, Amar Upadhyay will reprise his iconic role of Mihir Virani. As fans gear up for the reboot of one of Indian television's most iconic soaps, Amar has now revealed intriguing details about the plot. In a recent interview with Indian Express, Amar shared that while Mihir's character has evolved, his bond with Tulsi remains intact. 'Mihir is a bit changed in the way he moves around. He is a big businessman now. In season 1, he had done his MBA and returned to India to join his father's business. Now he is a very big businessman, busy exploring new business ideas," he explained. The actor also hinted at a conflict with the younger generation in the family. 'Smriti and my relation is just the way it was. The new kids come in, and with them, we have some differences, which is a different track altogether," Amar added. The new generation of the Virani family includes characters played by Rohit Suchanti, Aman Gandhi, and Shagun Sharma. According to Amar, Mihir's success as a businessman brings an added dimension to the show's storyline. While the bond between Tulsi and Mihir remains strong, the reboot will focus on the clash of values and perspectives between the older and younger generations—a theme likely to resonate with today's audience. Amar Upadhyay also revealed that Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 will be a finite series, expected to run for 10 to 12 months. This marks a shift from the original version, which ran for over eight years and became a cultural phenomenon. The reboot also stars Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Shakti Anand, and several new faces, promising a blend of nostalgia and fresh drama. With Ekta Kapoor at the helm once again, the makers aim to recreate the same magic with a modern twist. Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway Were 15 Minutes Away From Manhattan Tower Where Gunman Killed 4

Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway were filming The Devil Wears Prada 2 near a deadly mass shooting in Midtown Manhattan. Gunman Shane Tamura killed four before dying by suicide. Oscar winners Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway were shooting scenes for The Devil Wears Prada 2 just 15 minutes away from the Midtown Manhattan skyscraper where a deadly mass shooting took place on Monday. The cast was working at 1221 Avenue of the Americas and had wrapped filming at least three hours before gunman Shane Devon Tamura entered 345 Park Avenue, opened fire, and killed four people before dying by suicide. Miranda Priestly and Andy Sachs are filming their upcoming comedy drama The Devil Wears Prada 2. As Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway reprise their iconic roles in the second instalment of the movie, directed by David Frankel, they have already been spotted shooting on location in New York City. The horror unfolded just a few blocks away. A man who killed four people, then committed suicide in a New York skyscraper, may have been targeting the NFL offices there because he blamed the American football league for brain injuries he said he suffered, Mayor Eric Adams said on Tuesday. The revelation that the killer, identified as 27-year-old Shane Tamura, carried a note referring to the degenerative brain disease chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), offered the first possible motive for the shootings that brought central Manhattan to a standstill. The attacker shot a police officer outside the tower on Park Avenue, then opened fire in the lobby, before trying to head up to the National Football League's offices, armed with a semi-automatic rifle. 'The note said that he felt he had CTE, a known brain injury for those who participated in contact sports. He appeared to have blamed the NFL for his injury," Adams told CBS News. Tamura had never actually played for the professional league but was reportedly a high school football standout in California. The note asked that his brain be examined for CTE damage, The New York Times reported. The bloodshed sparked a massive police response in the heart of the city which is not far from where a disgruntled gunman had shot and killed the CEO of UnitedHealthcare in broad daylight last December. New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said Tamura had a history of mental health issues. President Donald Trump on Tuesday called the mass shooting a 'senseless act of violence" carried out by a 'lunatic". view comments First Published: July 29, 2025, 21:37 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
