Here's your guide to what's on, what to eat, where to go, and why it's all worth a try. Cultural experiences you cannot miss If you're after something meaningful this Eid, cultural activations are popping up across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra. There are lots of foodie and cultural experiences, like the chance to feast on a traditional Emirati meal in a majlis setting at House of Artisans and get your henna done and more. Head to the Al Ain Cultural Sites or Delma Museum for Eid-themed events from 4pm to 8pm on the first day, and from 9am to 7pm on the following day. In Abu Dhabi, Qasr Al Hosn will host Eid activities starting at 4pm on the first day and running from 9am to 8pm over the rest of the weekend. Manarat Al Saadiyat joins the line-up too, offering art-inspired experiences, running from 4pm-8pm on the first day of Eid and then between 10am and 8pm the days after. The best part? Little ones can take home little Eidiyas. How cute is that? Family-friendly entertainment await Etihad Arena is bringing Disney Jr. Live! to Yas Island for two days only on Friday June 7 and Saturday June 8. Expect sing-alongs, dancing and plenty of familiar faces that your kids will probably recognise faster than you. Art lovers can swing by the Louvre Abu Dhabi to catch the final days of the Kings and Queens of Africa exhibition, which wraps up on Saturday June 8. Over in Al Ain, there's also some fun to be had. The Premier League season is over. Who's up, who's down and who had the best haircut?
Illustration by Charlotte Trounce With no Premier League football cluttering up the back pages, the papers can now devote themselves entirely to tennis, cricket and, if necessary, backgammon. But the season isn't truly over, of course, until we've looked back on its highlights, surprises and oddities… Well done to Chelsea for waking up at the end of the season and wining a Euro pot, or whatever it was. High fives to Spurs for finishing a magnificent 17th in the Prem, one place above the drop. And also winning a Euro pot. I am currently living on an 1898 Dutch barge on the Isle of Wight and my wi-fi is rubbish, but I did manage to see most of their incredible victory in the European Milk Trophy. I was immediately dancing on the deck. The whole team should get knighthoods in the summer honours and the manager be made a lord. Hold on, are there any Brits among them? Well, that saves in paperwork and medals. Hard cheese to Cole Palmer on a poor season. Bound to happen, after all the plaudits last year. But my heart mostly goes out to Garnacho of Man United. Everything seemed to have gone wrong, the manager stopped picking him, so he wants to get away. Poor lad. I know what it is like not to be wanted. It was early this season I was dropped by the Sunday Times Money pages after 25 years at the coalface. Rotters. Friends said you have had a good run, getting away with it all these years, and I said piss off: I wanted to carry on. But breaking news. Have just had two new books commissioned. So come on Alejandro. Chin up. Something good is round the corner. Perhaps all-conquering, totally fab Spurs will want to sign you. Also sympathies for Kevin De Bruyne, let go before he was ready to let go. He has done brilliantly at Man City all these years, and yet Pep has said thanks and goodbye. What is happening there? Phil Foden is also in the doldrums and Grealish is beginning to look hang-dog. Is Pep taking it out on them because by his standards he has had a poor season? Oh, it's hard being a top footballer at a top team. You have further to fall. Best crowd chants. Definitely the Bournemouth fans calling Man City 'The Dirty Northern Bastards'. Having been brought up in Carlisle, I see Manchester as the Deep South. Are 'Dirty, Northern and Bastards' terms of abuse these days? I did also laugh when the Arsenal fans, watching their team stuffing Real Madrid 3-0, sang, 'Are you Tottenham in disguise?' Fave commentator. Still the wonderful Ally McCoist. You did good. Though having Alan Shearer beside you must have helped make you look more human. Shearer is so obvious and laborious and humourless with the personality of a speak-your-weight machine. For so long I disliked his bad temper, playing for free kicks, his relentless complaining, all that waving and pointing his finger. Now I realise he is by far Man United's best player, holding them together. They, like Spurs, have had a rubbish season, but at least Man United have a captain figure, who leads the lads. Spurs have no captain figure, now that Son is fading, alas. Best hair. Who can it be? The razor marks have rather disappeared, long hair gone, no skinheads – what do they now do in the afternoons after training? Come on, get a grip, by which I mean a kirby grip. Remember them? So the best hair award goes to Garnacho. He has kept his bleached, beach-boy blond hair, regardless of all the annoyances in his life. Next up: the Club World Cup in the US featuring the world's top 32 clubs, all of them knackered, having played too many games. Will the greed of Fifa and Uefa eventually kill the golden goose? And then… It is the Women's Euros this summer. Called Piston Peak, the new land will allow fans to enter the fictional world of Cars with a National Park twist. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 7 Disney has revealed a first look at Piston Peak in Florida Credit: Disney Parks 7 Visitors will get to drive around Piston Peak Credit: Disney Parks For those familiar with Walt Disney World Resort, the new area will be added to Frontierland to the right of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Disney announced that it will be the "largest expansion in the history of Magic Kingdom." Inside will be a visitor lodge, Ranger HQ, trails and, of course, there will be new attractions added to the land too. One will allow visitors to race through the mountains on wild terrain, avoiding geysers and mud holes. The creative team is also developing new race car personalities for the attraction. Each vehicle on the ride will have its own name and number, similar to real-life race cars. In order to develop the new land, Disney is set to close Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat beginning July 7, 2025. On the Disney Parks blog which explained more about the park, it detailed: 'From the outside, trees will provide a natural barrier between the off-road rally and other parts of Frontierland and Liberty Square. "Rugged mountains with dramatic peaks will be nestled along a calming waterway across from Grizzly Hall and soaring geysers from the famed Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will stretch into the trails of our off-road rally.' Plans also reveal there are lots of water elements in the park, including a waterfall. Walt Disney World will see other new additions, like a new hotel. The Disney Lakeshore Lodge, which was formerly called Reflections Lakeside Lodge, is a nature-inspired resort being built on the former River Country water park on Bay Lake. Originally announced in October 2018, this Lakeside/Lakeshore Lodge will 'be a celebration of Walt Disney's lifelong love and respect for nature." It will have more than 900 hotel rooms and Disney Vacation Club villas. It is set to include treehouse suites and waterfront cabins and the opening date is currently 2027. In 2027, Disney World will introduce a new area called Tropical Americas in Animal Kingdom, replacing DinoLand USA. This new land will feature an Encanto-themed attraction, a re-themed Indiana Jones attraction, and a carousel. It will be inspired by Central and South America. 7 Disney has revealed concept images for the World of Frozen in Paris Credit: Disney 7 There will also be a Lion King log-flume ride In Europe, Disneyland Paris is going through a transformation too. It's adding a whole new area called Disney Adventure World, which will also eventually replace Walt Disney Studios Park. One of the very first areas to open will be the World of Frozen, and the Kingdom of Arendelle will open its gates in 2026. It will include an all-new attraction called Frozen Ever After, and there will be an immersive shopping and dining experiences. Also, Disney Adventure World will feature a new "Lion King" themed area and log flume ride. In the works is Adventure Bay which is a central lake set to be built as part of the revamp. One Sun Writer went behind the scenes to take a look at the land in development. On the waters, Disney Destiny recently unveiled its newest ship to Disney's cruise ship fleet and this one will be themed around classic Disney villains and heroes. On the cruise ship, characters that are expected to a make an appearance include Marvel superheroes and traditional villains such as Maleficent, Loki, and Dr. Facilier. One Travel Writer even visited the world-first Disney music festival right here in Europe. Disney also recently brought back its free dining plans which can save families up to £1,119.
