The BET Awards celebrate their 25th anniversary this year, and BET is going all-out for this special ceremony. With a dynamic host, a slew of high-profile nominees and plans to honor one of the network's most iconic shows, the BET Awards will have everyone buzzing. The program airs Monday at 8 p.m. ET. Kendrick Lamar, coming off a huge night at the Grammys as well as his popular performance during the Super Bowl halftime show, leads all nominees for the show. Here is everything you need to know about the BET Awards 2025, including how to watch and who will be performing at the event.
The BET Awards will air live on BET on Monday, June 9, at 8 p.m. ET. You can also tune in for the pre-show at 6 p.m. ET on BET, which will feature red-carpet arrivals.
The BET Awards will air at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
If you have a cable streaming package through Hulu, Sling, DirecTV or YouTube that includes BET, you can stream the awards. BET also makes a livestream available through the BET website using the 'LIVE TV' option or using the BET Now app on a smart TV.
Kevin Hart will host the 25th annual BET Awards. It only seems right that the network would tap a huge star—the four-time Emmy winner has hosted the awards show in the past to great acclaim, and the show will undoubtedly be the highest-rated of the year on the network.
For the show's 25th anniversary, BET called in an all-star lineup. Lil Wayne, Teyana Taylor, GloRilla, Playboi Carti, Leon Thomas, Ledisi and Keyshia Cole are slated to perform.
Rapper Kendrick Lamar leads all nominees with 10. It's shaping up to be Lamar's year on the awards circuit—he won four Grammys earlier this year for 'Not Like Us,' including Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
Other top nominees include Doechii, Future, GloRilla and Lamar nemesis Drake, who each have six nods. Metro Boomin earned five nods, while The Weeknd and SZA both received four.
The iconic music video countdown program 106 & Park will receive special recognition during the ceremony. It marks the 25th anniversary of that show, which helped define BET as the home for Black culture and has welcomed many legendary performers and guests over two and a half decades.
Former hosts AJ Calloway, Free Marie Wright, Julissa Bermudez, Keshia Chanté, Rocsi Diaz, and Terrence J are all slated to appear during the tribute, while Bow Wow, Amerie, B2K, Jim Jones, Mya and T.I. will perform.
The year's biggest prize, the Ultimate Icon Award, will honor four Black entertainers who have made history with their success: singer Mariah Carey, actor and singer Jamie Foxx, gospel singer Kirk Franklin and rapper Snoop Dogg.

Star Wars fans love making the absurd out of the most dramatic moments of its saga, and transforming Mon Mothma's hypnotic wedding crashout into a dance-meme-turned-song-of-the-summer-candidate is just one such instance of that. Itself a remix of the first season's similar club classic 'Niamos!', composer Brandon Robert's updated synth track keeps the crunchy techno vibes of Nicholas Britell's original, will incorporating elements of EDM and house music to create the perfect beat to have an existential crisis to. Lucasfilm has embraced the moment, from releasing the soundtrack, to hour-long extensions, to last week's release of the official single 'Niamos! (Chandrilan Club Mix). But both Gilroy and Roberts alike want them to go further: releasing the separate audio elements of the track so fans can more easily remix it themselves, and spread new versions of 'Niamos!' across the world much like it seemingly swept over the galaxy far, far away. 'I'm hoping that they're working out the legality of getting the stems out to, if not everybody, at least a certain number of DJs who they approve of, who can mess with it,' Gilroy noted. 'It really could be a gas.' 'It's always interesting to see what people do, but I think the most interesting thing would be to see what people do from scratch but using the musical material,' Roberts added. 'I bet there's going to be some very cool versions of it out there, much hipper than anything I could do.' There is something very thematically Andor about trying to make this happen, and make 'Niamos!' an anthem of the fandom as much as it is the show's. Warner Bros. Discovery Splitting Into 2: Here's What to Know
Warner Bros. Discovery is also rebranding Max to HBO Max (again). Warner Bros. Discovery announced on Monday that it is separating the company into two publicly traded companies, according to a statement. "Streaming & Studios" will consist of Warner Bros. Television, Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, DC Studios, HBO, and HBO Max. David Zaslav, the current President and CEO of Warner Bros. "By operating as two distinct and optimized companies in the future, we are empowering these iconic brands with the sharper focus and strategic flexibility they need to compete most effectively in today's evolving media landscape," Zaslav said. In May, Warner Bros. Discovery announced it was rebranding its Max streaming app back to HBO Max. The other entity, "Global Networks," will include CNN, TNT Sports in the U.S., Discovery, the Discovery+ streaming service, and Bleacher Report (B/R). Gunnar Wiedenfels will now serve as President and CEO of Global Networks. Wiedenfels is currently the chief financial officer of Warner Bros. Discovery. "This separation will invigorate each company by enabling them to leverage their strengths and specific financial profiles," Wiedenfels said. "This will also allow each company to pursue important investment opportunities and drive shareholder value." CNBC reported the company's "restructuring" in December, noting that it was a "precursor to a full break." CNBC, meanwhile, is part of a restructuring of its own — Comcast is spinning off its cable networks into a company called Versant. Warner Bros. Discovery's restructuring is expected to be finalized by mid-2026. Both Zaslav and Wiedenfels will stay in their current roles until the split is complete, the company notes.
