Motorcycle review: Taking the middle road to the trails on the KTM 890 Adventure
SINGAPORE – The thing that first blows my mind when the KTM 890 Adventure is switched 'on' is the 5-inch digital display screen.
It shows an image of the 890, highlighting the unusually large fuel tank in green. If the tank is red, it means the motorcycle is close to running on empty.

EU urges Ukraine to uphold independent anti-corruption bodies; Zelenskiy signals swift action
Find out what's new on ST website and app. FILE PHOTO: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen speaks with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy prior to a bilateral meeting in Rome, Italy, April 26, 2025. Andrew Medichini/Pool via REUTERS/File Photo BRUSSELS - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called on Sunday for President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to uphold independent anti-corruption bodies, with the Ukrainian leader signaling that supporting legislation could be adopted within days. "Ukraine has already achieved a lot on its European path. It must build on these solid foundations and preserve independent anti-corruption bodies, which are cornerstones of Ukraine's rule of law," von der Leyen said in a post on X after a call with Zelenskiy. After a rare outburst of public criticism, Zelenskiy on Thursday submitted draft legislation to restore the independence of Ukraine's anti-corruption agencies - reversing course of an earlier bill aimed at stripping their autonomy. "I thanked the European Commission for the provided expertise," Zelenskiy said in a post on X after his Sunday call with von der Leyen. "We share the same vision: it is important that the bill is adopted without delay, as early as next week." Von der Leyen also promised continued support for Ukraine on its path to EU membership. "Ukraine can count on our support to deliver progress on its European path," she added. REUTERS Top stories Swipe. Select. Stay informed. Forum: Taxi app improvements to be rolled out alongside cancellation policy changes
Find out what's new on ST website and app. We refer to the letter by Dr Do Su Ern (Sort out issues before imposing new taxi cancellation policies , July 22). Dr Do's feedback regarding pick-up location accuracy and timing issues with our app is appreciated. Our current system's automated arrival status notification may sometimes be inaccurate, causing confusion about drivers' actual locations and arrival times. A new feature will be introduced shortly where drivers can only activate 'I've Arrived' when they are close to, or at, the pick-up point. This will improve location accuracy and provide customers with a more precise experience in the app. These operational improvements are being rolled out alongside our policy changes. During this period of adjustment, no cancellation fees will be charged from July 31 to Aug 31, and from Sept 1, riders will receive four free cancellations monthly when the taxi hasn't arrived, with a $4 fee applying thereafter. The charging of waiting fees will start only from Oct 15. Customers with concerns or service issues can contact our customer service centre on 6552 4525 or through the CDG Zig app. We remain committed to improving our service reliability through better technology and training, ensuring a more precise and efficient taxi booking experience for all users. Porsche takes Formula E team and manufacturer titles
Find out what's new on ST website and app. Porsche won the team and manufacturer titles as the all-electric Formula E championship wrapped up its season in London on Sunday. Nissan's Oliver Rowland had already won the drivers' crown with two races to spare. The Briton retired from Sunday's race after a crash. New Zealand's Nick Cassidy won both races at the ExCel centre on Saturday and Sunday as he said farewell to Jaguar with second place overall in the championship. Sunday's victory was a fifth in six races for Jaguar. Cassidy beat Mahindra's Nyck de Vries by 13.5 seconds with Sebastien Buemi third for Envision after Jaguar's Mitch Evans finished second on the road but was then handed a five second penalty and dropped to fifth. The race was the last for Jaguar team principal James Barclay, who is moving to head McLaren's world endurance hypercar team, and also for the McLaren Formula E team. REUTERS
