Motorcyclist, 25, killed after being stuck by SUV in Farmington; 2 other injured
The Farmington Police Department says the crash happened at approximately 4:17 p.m. at the intersection of 212th Street West and Dushane Parkway.
An 82-year-old man in a 2006 Ford Freestyle had been driving west on 212th Street West when he went to turn south onto Dushane Parkway. That's when he crossed into the path of a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle that had been traveling eastbound on 212th Street West, according to the initial investigation.
Despite lifesaving measures, the motorcyclist — identified as 25-year-old Tyler Wrobel — died on the scene. Police say he had been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Ford suffered minor injuries while the front seat passenger, an 82-year-old woman, was transported by LifeLink III air ambulance to HCMC with more serious injuries. Both had been wearing seat belts.
"I would ask the public to withhold speculation out of respect for both families involved in this incident. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Mr. Wrobel's family, and we wish the Schlotmans a speedy recovery," Deputy Police Chief Nate Siem said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

(Photo:) Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford is among 21 attorneys general who have joined a lawsuit to stop President Donald Trump from withholding billions of dollars in funding for resources for crime victims from states that don't aid the administration's mass deportation efforts. Nevada received about $24 million in funding from the Victims of Crime Act, or VOCA, in 2024 according to the Victim Assistance Data Dashboard. Withholding funds would put the state, and the 58 organizations that receive grant funding, at risk of losing money needed to offer support services to victims. The U.S. Department of Justice threatened to block VOCA funding nationwide, which provides critical grant funding for state agencies and nonprofits addressing domestic violence and sexual assault, if states don't cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Survivors of crime 'should not be used as pawns to score political points' in Trump's efforts to force states to comply with aggressive immigration enforcement'. Ford said in a statement earlier this week. 'It is despicable that President Trump is using vital funding to play political games,' Ford said. 'He is putting victims and survivors of crime in even more precarious situations when what they deserve is help with regaining a sense of normalcy.' The act was created in 1984 and has allowed helped fund a variety of services and assistance, including paying for emergency shelter, medical expenses, crime scene cleanup, and sexual assault forensic exams. 'Between 2021 and 2024, states have used federal VOCA funds to assist, on average, more than 8.5 million crime victims per year and to pay more than 200,000 claims per year for losses suffered by crime victims,' the lawsuit reads.

Teen motorcyclist and elderly driver killed in collision
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A collision in the Sabre Springs neighborhood claimed the lives of two people early Friday following a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV, authorities said. Video above by FOX 5/KUSI provides driving safety tips San Diego Police said the crash happened at the intersection of Poway Road and Sabre Springs Parkway shortly after midnight when an 18-year-old woman riding a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Poway Road ran a red light and struck a Mitsubishi Montero SUV. North County babysitter sentenced to life for sexually abusing autistic children The SUV, driven by a 72-year-old man, was turning left onto Poway Road from Sabre Springs Parkway and had a green arrow signal at the time, according to authorities. The motorcycle collided with the driver's side of the SUV. First responders declared the 18-year-old motorcyclist dead at the scene. The SUV driver was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. SDPD's Traffic Division is investigating the incident. Motorist caught at 61mph on motorway is ordered to pay more than £1,000
A motorist has been ordered to pay more than £1,000 after they were caught speeding at 61mph on the M4. Katherine Baillie was driving a Ford on the eastbound M4 between junctions seven and six near Slough when she was caught by an automatic camera. The motorist was clocked at 61mph on October 15 last year. A variable speed limit of 30mph was in place at the time of the incident. READ MORE: Hughenden Valley and Lacey Green police speeding crackdown Baillie, 43, of Cowfold, Horsham pleaded guilty to a single count of exceeding a variable speed limit during a hearing on July 30 at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court. She was given a £652 fine and her driving record was endorsed with six penalty points. Baillie was also ordered to pay £120 court costs and a £261 surcharge. The money is due to be paid in monthly instalments of £300 starting from August 27, 2025. It comes just weeks after actress Zoë Wanamaker was caught speeding on the M4 in an area of road works.
