Celtic title win party due to clash with Orange Walk in Glasgow
The organisers of an Orange walk have been asked to switch a parade to a later date - amid fears trouble could flare between the revellers and Celtic fans.
Members of the Orange Lodge are set to pass through Glasgow's Merchant City area next Saturday around the same time as Celtic fans make their way to Parkhead.
The Hoops face St Mirren at Celtic Park on Saturday afternoon, in the final Scottish Premiership clash of the season, with fans expected to be in party mode.
And locals around the area have expressed their concerns about what the parade could mean for the area, as fans travel to see Brendan Rodgers' men for the last time in league action this season.
The Celtic game kicks off at 12.30pm, while the procession is due to start on Wishart Street at 9.45am, heading south between the Necropolis and the Cathedral before turning west onto John Knox Street.
They will then march through Cathedral Square, turning left onto Castle Street, and going along High Street before turning on to George Street and towards the city centre.

The procession continues through Merchant City on Montrose Street and Cochrane Street before arriving in George Square, then continuing west along St Vincent Street, before heading to Cessnock, where it comes to an end.
In recent years Celtic fans have taken over the Trongate and Gallowgate as they have celebrated their team's successes, turning the air green with flares.
And it's feared the proximity between the areas - with fans expected to be partying around 500 yards away from the parade route - could cause chaos.
A spokesperson for Merchant City Community Council said: "Residents and businesses around Glasgow Cross are already concerned about serious disruption following the Celtic v St Mirren match.
" Police are likely to have their hands full just dealing with that. The presence of tens of thousands of Celtic and Orange Lodge supporters in the city on the same day is an unwelcome and possibly inflammatory mix.
"We call on the city council and the County Grand Lodge to get together to arrange for the parade to take place on a different date."

Shin Yamada 'moves closer' to Celtic £1.5m transfer as double striker swoop eyed up to give Rodgers what he wants
The Hoops are reportedly closing in on a move for Yamada in a bargain £1.5m deal Shin Yamada has reportedly moved closer to a £1.5m move to Celtic – and could be part of a double striker swoop. The Kawasaki Frontale frontman has been touted as the most recent J-League star to emerge on the Parkhead radar after the successes of the likes of Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Kyogo in green and white. The latter is yet to really be replaced with Maeda moving into a central position for much of last season, rotating with £9m striker Adam Idah. But the hunt is on for a new undisputed No.9 this summer with new arrival Callum Osmand expected to take on the third choice role. The Scottish Sun say a bargain £1.5m deal for Yamada has 'moved closer' and he could make the move to Parkhead having scored 32 goals in 121 appearances in Japan. He's a different type of striker, more in the false nine mould than a target man like Idah or an outright predator like Maeda, and could bring a different dimension to the attack. He is also capable of playing in the No.10 role which could unlock a new system for Rodgers should he need it. It's added that interest in Yamada is independent of a potential loan deal for Italian striker Giuseppe Ambrosino, who could arrive on loan from Napoli. Adding both strikers may appear marginally unlikely at this stage unless there is unexpected movement on the outgoing front. Speaking on Hotline Live earlier today, Keith Jackson played down the Ambrosino links, expecting Rodgers to instead move for a more established frontman – which 25-year-old Yamada may represent. He said: "Ambrosino an Italian U21 international. You might look at that and think 'what's the difference between that and Callum Osmand?' "Except there's a bit of excitement about this guy over in Italy, otherwise he wouldn't be leading the line for the U21s. "Napoli of course Scudetto winners, so it's hard to break into that team. "I think there has been possible discussions about some sort of loan deal, and Celtic might negotiate an option to buy if that's the road they want to go down. "Interesting, and I'm sure he's a good player, but it doesn't quite fit in with what I'd expect from Celtic. They've got Callum Osmand from Fulham, a young boy with big potential, but I really expect that Brendan Rodgers is going to push the boat out for an experienced, proven option at No.9. "Someone that fills the same sort of importance in the squad that Kyogo had, albeit he did take a dip before he left for Rennes. I'm fairly certain we'll see Celtic make a move for someone of that stature. "The potential problem with that is that these things often go right towards the end of the window. So that might take a while."

Window watch: Bhoys cash-in on Kuhn as winger set for Como move
CELTIC winger Nicolas Kuhn is on the brink of confirming his Parkhead exit after flying out to seal his transfer to Serie A side Como. The 25-year-old was pictured on Monday on what appeared to be a private plane with his agent on his way to Italy. Brendan Rodgers had confirmed the German's likely departure at the weekend, saying it would be 'great business all round' if he signed for the Italians. Celtic paid Rapid Vienna around £3million for Kuhn just 18 months ago and while he had turned in some impressive displays in the first half of last season, his form dipped after the turn of the year. 'We've virtually agreed between the club and Como, so it looks at this point that he'll be on his way, but we just have to wait for confirmation,' Rodgers said after a 1-0 friendly win over Queen's Park on Friday night. 'I think it's very clear, the model of Celtic. In the 18 months, he's done absolutely fantastic for us. He was aware of interest towards the end of last season and that sort of followed through. 'Other teams have joined in that interest over the summer and that's why a lot of the young players come. It's a wonderful, brilliant club to come to develop and improve. 'If he does end up going and signing for Como then it's great business all round.' Meanwhile, Callum McGregor is relishing Celtic's first meeting with Cork City in 16 years as Rodgers' side step up preparations for the new season with a pre-season friendly at the city's 45,000-capacity GAA stadium Pairc Ui Chaoimh. 'Obviously, it's been a while since we've been in that part of Ireland,' he said ahead of tonight's match. 'It feels so nice to come over and see the fans, let everybody see you in the flesh and hopefully give the best version of ourselves while we prepare for another long season. 'We're all looking forward to it. It's a special stadium and we want to go there and put on a show, just show the best of ourselves and hopefully have that connection with the supporters as well. 'When we get to come over (to Ireland) and see everyone in person, then it's always a special occasion. We just want to come over and try and give the best.' Rangers defender King poised to sign for League One Wycombe Rangers defender Leon King is set to sign for League One Wycombe for an undisclosed fee. The 21-year-old defender has been at the Ibrox club since 2020 and has made 20 first-team appearances. The Scotland Under-21 defender was picked to start new manager Russell Martin's first game in charge, Sunday's 2-2 friendly with Club Brugge, but is now poised to depart for the Buckinghamshire side. Well sign up former Celtic youth Sule Motherwell have signed former Celtic youngster Eseosa Sule on a season-long loan from West Brom. The Scottish-born forward came through the Bhoys' youth system before moving to The Hawthorns in 2023. After making just one League Cup appearance for the Baggies last August, Sule has returned north in search of more game time. 'The chance to get regular first-team minutes was an opportunity I couldn't say no to,' Sule told the Well website. 'This move makes sense. Being from the area, I know the club and what it means to the supporters. 'Many players have come here and it has helped their development. I hope to be the next player to experience that.' Well manager Jens Berthel Askou added: 'Eseosa is a young forward with very interesting attributes. His speed, athleticism and ball-striking are all impressive. Growing up not far from here, he already has a strong link to the area, which has enabled him to settle in very fast. He is a positive, energetic and eager young man who possesses great potential and we really look forward to developing him into a very valuable and game-decisive player for the team.' Double signing for new-look Killie KILMARNOCK have signed Dutch striker Djenairo Daniels and Welsh midfielder Tom Lowery, with both players agreeing two-year contracts. Daniels, 23, has moved to Rugby Park after spending the first half of 2025 with Cork, where he scored five goals in 12 appearances. After spending time in the academies of both PSV Eindhoven and Utrecht in his homeland, Daniels also had stints in Canada, Portugal and Iceland before moving to the League of Ireland. Killie boss Stuart Kettlewell said: 'Djenairo is one that we've been aware of for a while and his qualities are clear to see. 'He's been playing consistently recently and we're confident he will come in and hit the ground running, and that he can add to the quality we already have in the squad. We're looking forward to working with him.' Lowery arrives in Ayrshire following three seasons as a Portsmouth player. He made more than 170 appearances for Crewe prior to moving to Fratton Park in 2022, and spent the closing months of last season back on loan at Crewe. Kettlewell added: 'Tom is technically very good, works hard off the ball and brings great energy to the middle of the park. I believe he'll complement what we already have and add real depth and quality to our midfield options.' Bairns bring in defender Neilson on season-long loan FALKIRK manager John McGlynn is excited about adding Lewis Neilson to his squad after the centre-back returned on a season-long loan from Hearts. The 22-year-old had a stint with the Bairns on loan from previous club Dundee United in which he made 10 appearances in the closing months of the 2020-21 season. Amid stiff competition for a centre-back berth at Hearts, Neilson has now been allowed to join Falkirk once again as they prepare to return to the Premiership this term. 'I'm delighted to get Lewis in,' manager McGlynn said. 'He's a player we've had our eye on for some time and he fits a lot of the credentials that we're looking for. 'He's gained a lot of experience for a player so young at 22 years of age, coming through at Dundee United and then moving on to Hearts, and loan deals with Falkirk, Partick Thistle and St Johnstone. He's played a lot of games, particularly in the Premiership. 'He's got a lot of football in front of him, he's someone that I feel can make us better, and it's a good opportunity for him to continue his development.'
