TL;DR Android is getting several new animations as part of its Material 3 Expressive revamp.
Google has started testing one of the upcoming animations in the latest Android 16 QPR1 beta release.
It appears as a black overlay that expands from the screen borders when you long-press the power button.
In addition to refreshed UI elements, Android's new Material 3 Expressive design language is set to introduce some slick new animations. We gave you an early look at these animations last month, and Google has now started testing the new power button long-press animation in the latest Android 16 QPR1 beta release.
Google rolled out Android 16 QPR1 beta 2 last week alongside the stable Android 16 update for its Pixel devices. In addition to significant changes, such as a desktop mode, desktop windowing for tablets, custom keyboard shortcuts, and taskbar overflow, the update introduces the new squeeze animation that appears when you long-press the power button to summon the voice assistant.
As shown previously, it appears as a black overlay that expands inwards from the screen borders and disappears just before the assistant overlay pops up. You can see it in action in the attached video (via A_Button117 on Discord). This new animation will likely reach users with Android 16 QPR1, which is expected to arrive shortly after Google unveils the new Pixel 10 lineup.

BMO Capital Markets Lifts Oracle to Outperform After Strong Earnings Report

Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) is one of the . BMO Capital Markets has turned optimistic on Oracle's future, upgrading the stock from 'Market Perform' to 'Outperform.' Analyst Keith Bachman also raised his price target from $200 to $235, suggesting a potential upside of nearly 18%. Oracle shares have already climbed 20% this year, including a 13% jump following stronger-than-expected fourth-quarter results. A team of IT professionals meticulously crafting a large-scale enterprise performance management system. Bachman highlighted Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL)'s $138 billion in remaining performance obligations (RPO), which surpassed the $132 billion consensus and reflected more than 100% year-over-year growth. RPO represents the total value of contracted services and products yet to be delivered, a key forward-looking indicator. Bachman made the following comment: 'Hence, we think ORCL demand is durable over the next few years with some upside from very large partnerships. If Oracle is close to generating 100% RPO growth during FY26 and meeting revenue targets, we think shares will move higher, all else equal.' Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) also projected its cloud business could grow more than 40% year over year and expects total revenue in fiscal 2026 to beat Wall Street forecasts. Bachman said these projections support stronger operating income growth. He noted that improvements in cloud database services and subscription revenue could act as further growth drivers, suggesting Oracle's software segment, especially databases, is showing signs of recovery. Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL)'s dividend history is also strong, as it has paid regular dividends to shareholders since 2009. Currently, it offers a quarterly dividend of $0.50 per share and has a dividend yield of 0.93%, as of June 14. Tesla sparks buzz with images of unidentified model zipping around test track: 'It seems more likely it is one of the affordable models'

Aerial shots of an unknown Tesla model were spotted at the company's Fremont Factory test track in late May, prompting fans of the brand to suspect exciting additions to the affordable electric vehicle market. According to an article by Teslarati, while the images of the car have both bumpers covered, the vehicle seems to be a more compact version of the Model Y. The company has previously hinted at the Model Y being used as the base of their upcoming affordable line. While Tesla sales were low in early 2025, they have slowly begun to rebound, in part due to the company's commitment to affordability. Vehicles like the new Model Y Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive come at a price tag starting at $44,990, making EV ownership increasingly realistic for the average consumer. The Teslarati article does mention that the unknown model being test-driven could be the upcoming Model Y Performance, but it's unlikely. "Tesla would not reduce its size this much for the Performance configuration," the article states. "With that, it seems more likely it is one of the affordable models." Owning an EV comes with a wide range of benefits. Not only will you save money on refueling — as they do not require gas or oil changes like gas-powered cars — but by not burning these toxic fuels to run your car, you're also helping the planet. With affordable models, as well as the growing used EV market, electric vehicle ownership can be a reality for even more drivers. To maximize savings and eco-friendliness, the installation of solar panels on your home for your EV is a valuable addition. With solar, you won't have to use public charging systems, which cost money, or rely on the grid for charging, which can be inconsistent. Resources like EnergySage can help you compare quotes on solar panels and help you save up to $10,000 on installation. Another great option is Palmetto's LightReach solar panel leasing program, which allows you to install solar panels for no money down and lets users lock in low energy rates. If you were going to purchase an EV, which of these factors would be most important to you? Cost Battery range Power and speed The way it looks Click your choice to see results and speak your mind.
