Charlie Woods' coach reveals teenager's dramatic body change in bid to follow in Tiger's footsteps
The 16-year-old son of golf legend Tiger Woods is used to spending time in the limelight, making his debut at the PNC Championship at age 11.
But five years later, the prodigy is set to take his game to the next level as he enters his junior year at the prestigious Benjamin School.
After a summer of grinding away on the fairways - which saw him claim the American Junior Golf Association title at the TaylorMade Invitational - the rising star has caught the attention around the sport.
His high school coach, Toby Harbeck, has shed light on Charlie's hard work, which includes a drastic 10-pound weight loss.
'Charlie knows a lot of the attention is going to be on him and he knows not to put himself in an uncomfortable position, but his teammates are protective of him,' the Benjamin Buccaneers coach told the Palm Beach Post.
'Charlie has come a long way in two years. He's lost 10 pounds and is ready to take on that No. 1 role.'
Charlie is heading into his junior year at the exclusive $37k-a-year high school in Palm Beach, where Kai Trump, the granddaughter of President Donald Trump, is also a senior.
Charlie's father went public with his romance with Kai's mom Vanessa, the ex-wide of Donald Trump Jr., earlier this year.
Both Charlie and Kai competed at the illustrious Junior Invitational golf tournament at Sage Valley in South Carolina earlier this year. Kai finished rock-bottom after suffering an opening round meltdown, while Charlie failed to claw his way up the leaderboard.
Charlie also missed the cut at the US Junior Amateur this summer as dad Tiger watched on but managed to bounce back with a ninth-place finish at the Junior PGA Championships at the end of last month.
The 15-time major winner has frequently been spotted supporting his son at tournaments alongside his ex-wife Elin.
Harbeck, who has also coached Jack Nicklaus' sons Gary and Michael, added: 'When Tiger and Elin show up to watch, Tiger is a different person than what you see on TV. Just like Jack [Nicklaus] was.'
Charlie saw his chances of qualifying for the Junior Ryder Cup snatched away at the Junior PGA Championships.
He needed to finish first or second in Indiana to secure himself a spot on Team USA in next month's event at at Nassau Country Club and Bethpage Black.
And he was well-poised, sitting second on the leaderboard heading into the final round. But the teen shot a three-over-par 74 in Friday's final round which saw him finish in a tie for ninth.
However, Charlie and Harbeck will now turn their focus to bringing home the Florida State Championship for the Benjamin School.

Cowboys optimistic Micah Parsons will play in opener
August 21 - Dallas Cowboys first-year coach Brian Schottenheimer said he is confident Micah Parsons will take the field for a Week 1 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Rumors have swirled since the beginning of the month when the All-Pro edge rusher requested a trade, stating on social media that "I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys." Both sides remain in a stalemate as Parsons continues a hold-in. He has sat out all training camp practices while seeking a long-term extension to make him one of the NFL's highest-paid defensive players. However, the four-time Pro Bowler has attended team meetings and walkthroughs. "The business side of it is going to take care of itself," Schottenheimer said Wednesday. "I think at the end of the day, we feel like Micah's going to be out there when we line up against Philadelphia here in 15 days or whatever it is. "I feel good about that, yeah." Parsons, 26, is under contract with a fifth-year option that would pay him $24 million in 2025. In 63 games over four seasons with Dallas, the superstar pass rusher has 256 tackles (63 for loss), 112 quarterback hits, 52.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. He tallied 12 sacks, 43 tackles and two forced fumbles in 13 games last year. The Cowboys must finalize roster cuts down to 53 players by Tuesday, and the status of Parsons will affect other moves ahead of the team's meeting with the Super Bowl champions. "I feel good that Micah's going to be out there against the Philadelphia Eagles," Schottenheimer said, smiling. "All those things will play into things." --Field Level Media

Devastated Aussie Olympian Tilly Kearns announces shock split with her NFL star boyfriend - despite both of them still being in love
Australian water polo Olympian Tilly Kearns has revealed that she has split up with her American football player boyfriend solely because of the unsolvable problems of maintaining their long-distance relationship. Kearns, who took home a silver medal at last year's Paris Games, has shocked her friends and followers by announcing her break-up with Los Angeles Rams player Justin Dedich. The couple, who met at an American university several years ago, have parted ways on the best of terms and are 'hoping that the universe brings them back together' in the future. 'Justin and I are not together anymore,' Kearns told her YouTube followers. 'Purely because of long distance and it's not what we wanted... 'We're still very much best friends and hoping that the universe brings us back together.' 'It isn't our choice, but it has to be this way - thanks to long distance and our sports. Maybe once we're both retired, it'll work. 'Everything in this video, we still love each other forever. Everything in this video is 5000 per cent true. 'It makes me so happy looking back on it, but also sad - and yes, we're both f**king devastated, but what can you do?' Kearns then played a Q&A video that she made with Dedich while the pair were still dating, in which they answered questions about various topics, including their relationship. The couple spoke about how they met, what their pet peeves about each other are and how they managed to stay together when they were so far apart. Kearns said the keys to making it work are being understanding, having open communication and being OK with not talking every day. 'There were times when we'd want to call every day for hours and hours and we'd do that - then the next week "I'm really busy this week, I'm exhausted", because you've got to deal with the time difference, too. Dedich added: 'If you're uncertain, don't do it.' When asked what the couple had learned about love by having a long-distance relationship, the NFL star said 'it wasn't stagnant'. 'It's something you have to work at,' Dedich said. 'You can't be just like "it was easy in the beginning, it will just stay like that". It's hard, you've got to put in effort to do extra stuff.' On Wednesday, an emotional Kearns addressed the break-up on her Instagram page, posting that she hoped the YouTube video would answer all the questions she's been getting. In August last year, Kearns revealed the touching moment Dedich surprised her at the Paris Olympics as she was walking into the swimming arena. 'Firstly, he's a rookie in the NFL and he had his first ever NFL game the next day, so it literally was not even a thought in my head,' Kearns explained in a TikTok video. 'Like, he was just doing his thing, I was doing my thing, we just knew we couldn't be there to support each other in person to support each other.' Kearns is visibly shocked in the video when she sees Dedich supporting her in the stands. 'This is one of my old water polo coaches so I was already so surprised seeing him,' she says during the video. 'Then I walk a little bit further and this is the moment I see him.' Kearns went on to explain how her boyfriend managed to make the trip happen. 'Turns out that when we won our semi final to get into the gold medal game he went up to his head coach, really ballsy of him, and basically was like, "Tell me if I'm out of line, but can I go?"' she said. 'And the coach was like, "Yeah, man, what are you still doing here? Go." And so he got on a plane that night and flew.' Dedich's whirlwind trip to Paris lasted less than 24 hours before he was back on a plane home. Kearns was born with elite sport in her veins. Her footy star father, Phil Kearns, played during the Wallabies' most successful era in the 1990s, while her mother Julie introduced her to the Olympics two weeks before giving birth. 'My parents went to the Sydney 2000 Opening Ceremony and I was in mum's belly and I was born the day after the Closing Ceremony,' Kearns said.

Cubs escape ninth-inning jam to beat Brewers
August 21 - Michael Busch hit a bases-clearing double and Daniel Palencia stranded the bases loaded in the ninth inning as the Chicago Cubs beat the visiting Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 on Wednesday. Matt Shaw added a solo homer and Busch had two of four total hits for Chicago, which has won five of its last six games. The MLB-leading Brewers have lost three straight for the first time since May 7-10. Brice Turang had three hits. With the Cubs leading 3-2, Shaw began the eighth inning by depositing Jared Koenig's 1-2 offering into the left field seats for his 11th homer of the season. The insurance run proved to be the difference in the ninth inning after Turang scored from second base on Danny Jansen's two-out single against Palencia. After pinch-runner Brandon Lockridge stole second base, Palencia walked Sal Frelick and Isaac Collins to load the bases before retiring William Contreras on a liner to second baseman Nico Hoerner for his 18th save. Milwaukee took a 1-0 lead in the second inning after Colin Rea (10-5) walked the bases loaded and a run scored on Blake Perkins' groundout. The Cubs pulled ahead with three runs in the third inning against Jacob Misiorowski (4-2), who walked the first three batters before giving up Busch's bases-clearing double. Shaw drew an 11-pitch walk ahead of Busch's liner to left-center field and also made a stellar defensive play on Anthony Seigler's bunt in the sixth inning. Misiorowski allowed three runs on one hit with three walks and five strikeouts over four innings. The Brewers put two runners on with one out in the fifth, but Rea escaped the jam when Contreras grounded into a double play. Rea was replaced with a runner at second with two outs in the sixth inning by Caleb Thielbar, who was greeted by Turang's run-scoring single. Rea gave up two runs on three hits over 5 2/3 innings. He walked five and struck out three. --Field Level Media
